First time staying down the valley rather than in baqueira resort. It's a good choice. Vielha has plenty going on.

The Hotel : good location on main Street, large free car park 200m further down Street. It's a family run 2 star. Decor wise it hasn't been updated for 30 years but it depends what you want. It was immaculately clean, room was fine, comfy bed, the walls are no longer pink either! They are friendly, and I winged it with some pidgin Spanish, and they speak French too.

Room price: it was 80 euros a night for a double. You won't get that price up in Baqueira in winter...
Breakfast is 5 euros : they provide ham, cheese, chorizo, breads, yoghurt, fruit, pastries, jams and biscuits. OK it's not artisan bread and ham, but it's good for fuelling up before a ski. They keep the skis in a basement area for you.

Bars and restaurants : Vielha has a growing selection of bars and restaurants, a great choice. Most of the bars have some tapas on the bar, and there is a great choice of wines and craft beers.

Came with me girlfriend for a night. Staff was friendly and patient, even though they didn't speak much English. Room was nice, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was also good. Only downside is rooms with a double bad cost more (otherwise it's 2 single beds close together). Overall very nice for a good price!

Not a bad place to stay, even with the pink paint. Quiet clean and good price. Of course we were here during the off season. Not impressed with the desayuno options. Went down the street to another cafe for that.

Everything about this hotel was very average, nothing very interesting to say about it. The rooms were basic but clean with plenty of hot water. There is a lift so no problem getting your luggage up to the top floors. Staff were fine but didn't really speak any english so can't blame them for not being too friendly! Good point is that it's right in the town centre so really close to all the restaurants, bars and shops. Great atmosphere in Vielha and much more fun to stay in than Baqueira itself, which is just a 10 min drive away (weather and traffic dependant). No parking at the hotel, we found some free parking but was a 10 minute walk with all of luggage and and snow gear so a bit of a pain. It was toward the end of the season too so could be an issue to find parking in high season. The place was overpriced in my opinion but if you get a good deal then it's fine for a weekend. Don't bother with breakfast there though, turn right out of the hotel and a few mins walk along the street there is a place on the right (can't remember the name) but they had great breakfasts for a really decent price.
