Reviewed August 15, 2013

We started our holiday at NH before travelling on to our resort for two weeks - the hotel and staff were excellent - we decided to return back to Barcelona a day before our flight and rebooked NH - the service was excellent - we highly recommend the hotel - good price & easy travel into city centre - thank you NH!

nH Sant Boi Hotel offers a clean, no frills, inexpensive place to stay. It is located in an industrial zone so if you are looking for nearby shopping/dining/attractions this is not the place for you. If you are more interested in saving money, you can get a nice clean room for less than 60 euro a night.

Taxi fare from the airport is approximately 25 euro, about a 15 minute ride. Make sure you have the name & address of the hotel handy as taxi drivers do not seem to be too familiar with its location. By bus it is 3 euro and about 35 minutes. Check the bus schedules carefully as they do not provide early morning or late evening service. The bus stop is not far from the hotel (100 meters or less). Secured parking is available at the hotel for 9 euro a day.

Vending machines with water, soft drinks and light snacks are available in the lobby and they keep them well stocked.

The hotel restaurant offers a limited menu. It is open for breakfast and dinner Monday - Thursday and breakfast on Friday. No lunch service and it is closed Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday. The next closest place to eat is McDonalds, about a 10 minute walk away.

No iron or ironing board; however, same day laundry service is available (to include pressing) if you drop it off by 10:00am.

The hotel does not provide currency exchange services. If you need euro, you can get them at the airport or many places downtown. La Caixa is everywhere and offers a quick service and a decent rate of exchange.

Wireless internet is available in the room but it is very slow (256kb?)
You can upgrade for a faster connection for 9 euro a day.

Hotel staff is friendly and will do what they can to make your stay a pleasant one.

We stayed in the NH Sant Boi prior to a flight leaving Barcelona airport. The hotel is less than a 15 minute drive from the airport and provides free parking. The rooms were clean and moderately spacious. It was good value for money.

Room Tip: Book in advance as this is a busy hotel used by travelers leaving Barcelona airport. The hotel was f...

Due to flight cancellations we were placed in this hotel overnight by our airline. It’s about 30 minutes by bus from Barcelona city centre, and whilst the bus is cheap (about 3 euros per person, each way) the last bus back to the hotel leaves at 10.30pm, so I wouldn't recommend staying there if you want to see the city sights. The hotel’s in a business park area, and the only thing nearby is a McDonalds (about a fifteen minute walk). Apparently it’s not on a bus route to the airport so you’d need a taxi to get there.

Reception staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room on the second floor was the usual chain hotel room – a little dark, with two single beds but quite comfortable. Bathroom was clean with ample towels. There is free wi-fi but the connection was not very good.

Unfortunately there was a water leak in the restaurant/bar area so possibly it didn’t look it’s best when we were there. We were provided with a set evening meal, which was average but the breakfast was good with plenty of pastries, cheeses and cold meats etc.

There's no outside area and although it was comfortable enough, I wouldn’t recommend it for more than an overnight stay (if you’re visiting nearby on business).

Even the Barcelona airport taxi driver weren't too sure about the location of this hotel so make sure have the address handy and your smartphone's GPS switched on in case you get lost. This hotel is in an industrial area far away from the usual tourist routes and it's not even listed in the sat-nav maps.

From the outside, it doesn't even look like a hotel. It's just a very ordinary looking nondescript 2 storey building. It probably used to be some warehouse or factory lot converted to a hotel, I think.

There were no bellboys or doormen to greet you with offers to help with the luggage upon arrival. However, my wife and I were greeted most warmly by the two Front Desk staff on duty that afternoon. The very friendly young man and woman made us feel welcome at once. They cheerfully answered all our little trivial questions not only about the hotel but about Barcelona itself. I wished I had their names because they truly deserved to be mentioned. Outstanding staff.

Our room was a standard regular sized room. The amenities are very basic - no coffee or tea, no electric kettle, no complimentary bottles of drinking water, no bedroom slippers and last but not least, no welcome fruit basket.

The beds are very comfortable with high quality sheets and long pillows. Yes, the pillows are more like flat bolsters. If you're like us who brings own pillow cases, bring bolster cases instead because regular pillow cases won't fit these extra long pillows.

On weekends and certain days, the hotel's restaurant is closed. Best to check on the opening hours before preparing to go out for meals. Good thing there's a 24-hour McDonald's a 20 minute walk away. The hotel staff will cheerfully tell you that it's not more than 10 minutes away but believe me, it's closer to 20 minutes. Maybe even 25.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the NH Sant Boi Hotel. Too bad the location is so far away from the main city areas.

I would not recommend this Hotel as a place to stay to be near Barcelona airport. The Hotel was very reasonably priced but the cost of taxis to and from the arport made it expensive. It stated that the Hotel was 5 kms from the airport - that may be true for Terminal 2 but it is at least 9 kms ay from Terminal 1 and the taxis are very costly - add at least another 50 euros on top of the cost of the hotel.
I arrived on a Sunday night from Mallorca and could not get even a cup of tea at the Hotel! No tea or coffee in the room, nothing. In the end had to phone out to have a pizza brought in! I had an early flight on the following day and would have really appreciated being able to make myself a tea or a coffee.
The Hotel was not easy to find either and there were road works going on and so I had to walk with my case for about 100 metres - not far but an added irritation.
The Hotel room was very clean and comfortable and the girl on reception friendly and helpful. Excellent price if you have your own car.

This hotel would only be recommended if you plan to visit the small towns outside Barcelona & not for sight-seeing in Barcelona, as it is too far away.

Hotel rooms are modern by the look of it but lack many things. For e.g. they don’t even have cupboards but just 2 open cabinets on either side of the beds with a rod in the centre for the hangers.
Television set is very old and outdated.
No refrigerator in the room nor water bottles provided but a vending machine on lobby level to buy water etc. . . .
No iron & ironing table services provided. Seems that service is forgotten by the hotel completely.
Beds are a bit hard , the beds slide very easily with the smallest movement in bed

Rooms are small and not really what you can call comfortable in terms of size.

Bathroom is nice with good toileteries

Breakfast I feel is too expensive for the price. 12 euro odd for buffet breakfast is too much for the menu offered.

NO shuttle service to the airport. Taxis will cost anything between 20-25 euros depending on your luggage ( as they charge you 1europer bag). If you have to take a local bus to the airport you need to change 2 buses.

going to Barcelona city centre by taxi about 20 euros one way , there are buses which go as well during the day and at night. But the night bus takes over 1 hr to get to the hotel from plaza catalunya which is generally a 30 mins bus ride during the day .

the hotel bar is shut on weekends so if you want to eat, there is a mcdonalds and a “diversus” restraunt 10 mins walk from the hotel .

I would not recommend unless you get a throw away deal
