We had 5 nights B and B as we had never been to this resort before. Everyone in the Hotel was friendly and helpful. We had room 175 which overlooked the courtyard outside the breakfast room. There was free air con and a walk in shower. Towels were changed every day and the whole place was spotless. Bar prices are reasonable, 3.25 euros for a good glass of wine, it closes at midnight, which ensures a quiet night. Breakfast is served from 8 to 11.30, and the scrambled egg is the best we have had. There is a selection of cold meats and cheeses, yoghurt etc, something for everyone. There is small pool, but we mainly used the beach in the morning and could always find a seat there in the afternoon. The long beach is around the corner, there is a coastal path one end and a marina the other. Lots of beach bars with varying prices for snacks/drinks. Right turn out of the Hotel takes you to many restaurants, bars, and lots of shops for all budgets. If you stop to look at menus, nobody hassles you to eat there. The quality of the food was top notch, whether we ate in snack bars, pizza places or restaurants like the Grill almost next to the Hotel. The clientele in resort are mainly Catalan, Spanish and French, but where ever we went we were made to feel welcome and English was no problem. There is a large tourist office( next to McDonalds) and the bus stop is nearby if you want to get about. Palamos is the next resort - 20 mins on the bus, a lovely beach and town for a day out.

We looked for a reasonably priced hotel in Playa d'Aro as we planned to pay a suprise visit to see my sister and her family, who live in the area. Wanting something a little more central and knowing the resort certainly helped us. We found the Els Pins hotel and booked through Jet2 for a 5 night stay from 31st July to Aug 5th....flying into Gerona.
The hotel is situated off the main street and only about 50 meters from the beach. It isnt a big hotel by any means but we were pleasantly suprised at how nice it was. The rooms were clean, bright and airey with tv, 4 piece bathroom with overhead shower and wi-fi available throughout the hotel. There was a safe available to use at a cost of a 10 euro refundable deposit, which is always good to use. The rooms were cleaned every day. There is no entertainment on at the hotel at night time but you dont it as there is plenty going on in Playa along the sea front to while away the hours, plus here was an open jazz festival every Friday night, which is worth a visit
There was a good choice of food available every day for breakfast ranging from a continental style of croissants, , cooked meats, cereal, fruit and bacon and scrambled eggs with tea, coffee and fruit juice. It was an adequate to start the day. It was the same each day, but we didnt mind as there are plenty of cafes, bars etc around town to get more variation, especially on the sea front, which has been improved over the years since our 1st visit.
You have the option also of either sitting in the main dining area or opting to sit outside for your breakfast, which our room overlooked.
The hotel has its own small pool area with sun loungers, bar area, which closes at midnight, had a very good choice of drinks from sangria, beer, spirits and cocktails. The staff were very polite with a good understanding of English and were more than obliging when asked to book our taxi for the short drive to Castell d'Aro to see my sister
Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. We were warned that the bars and clubs in the vicinity could get rowdy, especially at the weekend, but we found this to be untrue. We had no problem getting to sleep nor were we disturbed during the night. The air con is a must, but we advise anyone to turn it down at night as it does really kick in.
Be advised also that Playa d'Aro has a reputation for being an expensive resort compared to the likes of others in Spain. Having said that though, it is a nice place with many smaller local beaches, a port area for yachts etc ( as opposed to cargo ) easily accessable on foot.
We would use this hotel again so thank you to the owners for their hospitality

Tucked in behind all the big beach front hotels is this charming 3 storey mid sized family run hotel. It has a modest pool and sun deck, a lovely bar with a great barman who mixes amazing cocktails. The front desk staff are helpful and friendly, they converse in English, French, German, and Dutch. The breakfast buffet is first class, lots of fresh fruit, cold meats, cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals, you name it! WiFi in the rooms worked well, as did the air conditioning. The beds are comfy and the rooms are a decent size ours had a 2 person balcony which caught the afternoon sun. The beach is literally 1 minutes walk away and the main shopping/restaurant street is 2 minutes the other way, this place is a haven of peace and tranquillity tucked away between the 2. We would happily stay here again.

We had a family holiday here and the hotel is fantastic. Really friendly staff, clean rooms and a great selection for breakfast. The beach is just 1 block away and the hotel has a small pool which was not too busy, even though it was peak season.
