We didn't know that there were still places like Tamariu on the Costa Brava let alone a great hotel practically on a perfect beach. We swam on arrival and had an excellent dinner. Another swim before a breafast that had something for everyone. This family-run hotel is just what we hope for, but don't always get. Despite our stay coming at the end of a busy season, the impression was that they had just been waiting for us and had nothing else to do all summer.

Room Tip: Unless you are desperate to be facing the sea, a south-side room gives a good view and is away from...

I went to Tamariu at the end of my trip to Spain for a couple days of R&R. I was perfect. Hotel has great staff, delicious food (huge complimentary breakfast buffet), and is located right on the water. I ate here every night, though there are a number of other choices in the little town. The little bay was beautiful and clean. The hotel was clean and met all my needs. I would definitely recommend it.

We have walked past the Hotel Tamariu on many occasions but never stayed there. This time we wanted to stay right on the beach so the location was perfect. The hotel is run by two sisters and their brother. They provide a genuinely warm and personal welcome. The family have run the hotel for 80 years and many clients have been returning year after year. There wasn't a room available for us for the whole of our stay and so we were offered a 3 bedroom apartment for the same price which was excellent. Simple furniture and facilities but everything was in great condition. The hotel breakfast was very good. Dinner was a little disappointing. We tried the restaurant twice. It was OK on one occasion and very overcooked on the other. Its not their strong point. There are many other restaurants close by and we would recommend trying one of those. Overall we would certainly stay there again.

The location cannot be best, the cuisine it is great! And the family that runs the hotel and its employees, are even better. Since I was born, I keep on going there, I can guarantee; that there is no place in thsi world that makes me such a good benefit in my mind! It easy to be in... few restaurants, not noisy, etc... and what's best, great for kids! No cars around, so they can play with no risk, and you can enjoy a great white catalan wine on the terrace, right net to the beach. Just great! If you go to the restaurant, go for MUSCLOS a la VINAGRETA and PAELLA! And keep some empty spot on your stomag, since, the desserts could be the best... the tatín is amezing.............. Go for it! Your kids will love it!!!

We have just returned from a 5 night stay for our second honeymoon and 10th wedding anniversary. Last stayed here 7 years ago and we were certainly not disappointed to return. As before the staff cannot do enough for you. The hotel is beautifully clean. We have only been to the area before early summer and would thoroughly recommend it as a time of year to visit - can imagine it would feel very cramped in July/August.
We went to the monthly inclusive dinner and Jazz night on the Saturday night - it was great value with a glass of cava to start, 3 courses, wine, coffee and liqours - we had a lovely evening. Bar is a lovely place to have a nightcap. Breakfasts is fabulous.
Tip - if you aren't keen on beaches the campsite at the top of the road allows you to pay in for 3 euros a head, its a lovely pool, staff very friendly and nice cafe for a snack. We had it exclusively to ourselves but again not sure about high season.

Room Tip: The penthouse - great terrace and views
