“Interesting place!!”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

Great little museum to take the kids! My two aged 6 & 8 really enjoyed this pit stop. You are only charged €3 for adults and kids are free so great value. My children were really intrigued by this interesting castle and were asking questions all the way back to our villa. Not worth planning a day around as it only takes around 30 mins to view, but great find to have a wonder on the way to and from your resort.

“A waste of time”
Reviewed July 6, 2014 via mobile

This museum hasn't figured out what it wants to be and whom it addresses. Very chaotic and poorly curated. Boring for both children and adults. It's a pity, the building could be put to better use.

“What's a pirate's favorite lesson at school? Arrrrrrrrrrt.”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

If anything there was more Arrrrrrrrrrrt (Art) at this museum than actual exhibits or real interesting historical artifacts. One room for instance was just full of modern looking ornaments that remind you of the ones you may find in your Gran's house. The museum is more information/ words/ picture based with the odd model of a pirate ship but as people say for 3 euros each you don't want to be too critical. There are a few interesting snippets like information about when Admiral Lord Nelson attacked the Island but how he was sent away with his tail between his legs. We enjoyed wondering the walls and halls of the Santa Barbara Castle for where the museum is located within more than anything but for the Castle and views alone - it is worth a visit.

If you are disabled please note that there are only steep stairs leading up over the draw bridg and then into the Castle and museum entrance.
