We arranged a trip to Haria so we could stop here for lunch on our way back to Playa Blanca and it was well worth the trip.
La Cantina is a beautiful bar/restaurant with a number of small and different rooms. We chose the larger room by the road which was busy even at 2pm on a Wednesday lunchtime.
Excellent choice of tapas or larger meals with superb wine list ( specialising in Lanzarote wines ).
It was lunchtime and hence no wine for us and I was driving !!
We had 2 tapas to start with ( between 3 people ) - padron peppers and gueldes ( whitebait ) both of which were excellent served with freshly made bread.
The 3 main courses were albondigas ( Iberian pork meatballs ) estofada del campo ( slow cooked beef stew in red wine with Canarian potatoes ) and aubergine bake - all with freshly made bread.
All completely different and great for sharing a little of each.
To finish the amazing chocolate brownie and lemon meringue parfait shared between the 3 of us - the very best puddings we have had on the island.
Friendly service and not expensive - what else can I say ??!!

We called in at Teguise for lunch on a week day on the way back from Timanfaya (the volcanic landscape well worth a visit). The town can be easily missed driving on the main road which passes this old capital of Lanzarote. The town has cobbled streets, pottery and jewellery shops and a few bars /restaurants. We decided on this café bar as there was a spare table outside but ended up inside where the décor was a pleasant surprise compared to other premises on the island which have an authentic feel but are more often than not have a hectic decor. Inside had the feel of a gastro pub crossed with a country kitchen. The type and range of food was just what we wanted, and what we ordered was excellent. My wife and I shared tomato bruschetta and one of their Tabla Deli's - which the consists of a selection of local cheeses, hams, olive, breads and chutneys etc. served on chopping board. Our boys had a Pantry burger and the meatballs - which are served in the best bolognaise sauce I've tasted. We later bought a few local foodie bits from the adjacent deli/shop which is an extension of the business. Well worth a visit if you like your food and a good place to pick up some quirky holiday presents.

When I saw La Cantina ahead of me I knew I was going to love it. We were at La Cantina for dinner and enjoyed a pre-dinner drink in the bar area first. The team at La Cantina couldn’t have been more helpful or more friendly. La Cantina has its own shop attached to the restaurant which is beautifully decorated and stocked with a large range of delicious foods – had it not been the evening, I would have bought lots of their goodies. The restaurant had a few different dining areas too – a few alfresco options and a cosy inside dining area also. A magical place to be. And when it comes to the actual food at La Cantina I was utterly delighted. At our table we ordered duck, steak and the Pantry burger to name but a few dishes. Each and every dish was beautifully presented…..and each and every dish tasted absolutely delicious. The homemade chocolate brownie with homemade caramel sauce made my husband a very happy man indeed, not to mention the range of delicious cheeses for the cheese course. A culinary delight on all levels run by an incredibly welcoming team! We recommend this restaurant hugely!

We stayed in Teguise for a few days while son was surfing in Famara. The town was quiet and most other restaurants were closed. We ate here a few times and the food was always excellent and we never had the same food twice. The ambiance was lovely and always a nice crowd in. Service is excellent if in main room. A number of times we were out front or in the 'hidden garden' and we had to go looking for a waiter for service. The standard of food makes this one of the best in Lanzarote.

Stopped in Teguise on our meander around lanzarote . What a find . Fabulous food well prepared with a quirky stylish edge on presentation . The shabby chic furniture in hap hazard premises only added to the ambience . Manages to do with ease what expensive up market inner city establishments in the UK struggle to achieve . We initially thought it seemed pricy but changed our mind when the food was served . It was excellent and worth the extra euros . Get the patatas fritas served in brown paper bags € 4.95 but worth every cent . Recommend the chicken Cesar salad or one of the sharing boards . Would go back
