Just visited Teguise and had a meal at La Cantina, good varied menu and the food was cooked to perfection, very quaint 400 year old building, certainly worth a visit if you are in Lanzarote

Highly recommended menu and ambiance. When it's warm you can eat outside in two well designed garden areas and while the indoor room has a bit of an echo when not full - it has tiled floors and high ceilings - it is beautifully lit and very comfortable. Very friendly and handsome staff. Dinner for six of us with two bottles of wine was very good value at €150. Open day times and evenings seven days a week: a must if you're visiting the excellent Sunday market at Teguise (great coffee) or for an evening treat.

The food is excellent here, and they only use produce from the island. Service is great , it has a great ambiance. Highly recommended.

We have just visited La Cantina , situated in the heart of old Tequise town , which incidentally holds the Famous Sunday Market that all of Lanzarote visit each Sunday morning . The restaurant is truly authentic , with a vast menu of Canarian food , from steaks to exciting Tapas dishes , served on wooden boards , with a choice of tapas for 2-3-4 people , very tasty at reasonable prices , with a very good wine list . Run by an English family who have lived in Lanzarote for over 20 years , we found it an exciting rustic restaurant situated in a superb town with cobbled streets , and lots of Spanish bars and tapas places , truly recommended for a days visit .
