in 4 vacations in Lanzarote we have tried approx 15-20 restaurant, El Risco was the most memorable: The place is very oceanic with a beautiful view over the rough waters of Famara and the picturesque Risco de Famara mountain. Truly good quality fish (both traditional and modern seafood cuisine, eg great Grouper Ceviche), Good local winelist. They even have cuban cigars if you fancy them. The best resto we have found in Lanzarote. Not the cheapest but we still found it good value for money. I would recommend them to change the external sign, it gives a wrong idea of the type of restaurant you woud find inside.

It is not the only reason to travel to Famara, but certainly is the place to eat. The view from the terrace is stunning and the ambience, food & service are excellent. Simple as that - if your there try it out!

We had some tapas and fish as a main dish. All food was quite well and tasty. The wine was not what we expected at the beginning, however, the waiter offered us a second one instead without any charging because of the opening of the first bottle. All in all , this is a good place to go.

El Risco is a great restaurant with wonderfull food: fish is fresh and there is a wide variety. Wine is good. It's just a real decent place with excellent service and prices are reasonable. The bonus you get for dining at El Risco is a stunning view at the Famara cliffs, it is realy worth your while (especially at sunset!) For us it was worth making a detour: we had dinner here several times during our holiday and we enjoyed it every time.

Terrible terrible experience. Very slow and careless service for a food that is average at best. The best thing about this restaurant is its view, but you can get that in most coastal places in the island.
We were in early to beat the rush and it still took 3 hours to complete our meal. We asked for a paella and were told it would take 25 minutes. It took 90. Let me remind you, we were in early to beat the rush. Normally that would not be a big deal, but we were with a 22 month old that was hungry and waiting 90 minutes for her food was not fun for anyone. Just tell me you can't cope that it will take more than one hour and we will go somewhere else! maybe they thought that the just would secure the business. Well, think long term! To top it up, staff were rude and kept saying "Just 5 more minutes" for one hour. One long hour. Once the food arrived, it was average at best. The rice was undercooked... after 90 minutes! The starters were oily and the flavour just wasn't there. Oh, and you pay high prices for the privilege.
