“Not much to see”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

Found it very boring. Lots of grafitti on the smaller older one. Could all do with sprucing up and whole area making more of.

“Wasted opportunity”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

What a dump. This could be a superb tourist area with cafes etc to watch the sunset (see photo), but it is just a grotty area and the lighthouse is covered in grafitti. Seriously don't bother. I don't think it helps that all the development in the area has ground to a halt (no bad thing!)

“A landmark rather than an attraction”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Well, it's not open to the public... so it's difficult to say what it's like, other than making an objective to walk to. There are actually 2 lighthouses... a tall elegant modern structure that can be seen from all over Playa Blanca and a much older short, stubby one mounted on a building. Perhaps there are plans to open that and have a little lighthouse museum?

“Covered with graffitti.”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

What a disappointment. The building although impressive is covered with graffitti and the stench of urine is unmistakable. The area is covered in litter and no clearly defined walkway exists. Great views is about all it has.

“Impressive”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

I'd say it's really worth going to the lighthouse. You get two in one: the new lighthouse and the old one, which is even more impressive. Besides, you get the view to the Montana Roja and can get to the wild, untamed sea, sit on the stones and touch the wild waves. A nice spot outside the resort.
