This aparthotel met our expectations and needs for a self-catering holiday. The location I feel is ideal, with a short ten minute walk straight down to the Playa Dorada beach with an easy promenade walk either turning right towards the town end restaurants or walking left to the more up market Marina Rubicon. Our apartment was on the upper floor, with good views to the mountains and a pool view sheltered by greenery. Lots of trees within the complex help to soften this white painted building. We had everything we needed to self -cater adequately except a cheese grater and stemmed wine glasses, so we drank our wine from a tumbler. The on-site shop was stocked to provide a good supply of essentials and we were grateful to buy milk and our four litre water containers there. A supermarket is just 5 minutes down the road on the corner open until 23.00 hrs and we found a nice fruit and vegetable shop just as you reach the town (near the “Children’s play ship”.) Our 2 electric rings, microwave, toaster, and kettle were used, but the coffee maker and juicer stayed in the cupboard. You need to take T towels and I found some sheets of paper towel useful to wipe down the outside table’s condensation in the morning. The bathroom looked a little tired, and the slightly unusual hair dryer attached to the wall was hot not powerful but eventually dried your hair. The shower is attached to the bath taps with plenty of hot water. Towels changed frequently and always folded attractively. The beds are so well mattress protected that every time you move they grunt! Cleaning staff did a good job visiting the apartment five days out of seven and changed our sheets at least three times. Staff always said “Hola” with a smile, and receptionists were welcoming and helpful. The reception is quite large and has internet access and a locked storage room for cases for departure day. I believe a safe key should be included in the price of the room, so I always grumble about having to pay extra, but we paid the 26 Euro nevertheless (3 returned) and found this was cheaper than other hotels when discussed on the way back to airport. The pool area was always tidy with a lifeguard, but as others have said the sun beds sometimes need to be moved before you got a pair you were happy with. Two adult pools afforded a choice; we chose the quiet pool, no music, no games, just pure relaxation with the occasional swimmer. Two very small shallow children’s pools suited the toddlers on site and the box of buckets & floats were well used. A bar was open and entertainment options advertised, but as we didn’t participate I have no idea as to the quality. I found this a quiet, relaxing place in September. The apartments would benefit from modernisation in the bathroom especially but overall our experience was really positive, and for two weeks it was absolutely fine. I would have no hesitation in returning. If I took over, my main priorities would be sun beds, shower cubicles and a more comfortable lounge bar area. Please see photo’s added.

Stayed at the Sun Royal in sept overall the rooms were clean, big bedrooms but a bit dated
the pool area was nice but the sunbeds were very dirty and in need of replacement staff were friendly and helpful. We did not go all inclusive but the food looked good if a bit repetitive the only real complaint was the wifi which they charged €12 for 3 days but it was NOT 3 days usage just 3 days even if you used it for an hour which I felt was a bit of a rip off as all the bars offered free wifi. Overall enjoyed the stay

Ok this is a 3 star resort do not expect more. We booked last minute having read reviews which are mixed to say the least.
We paid buttons for our one week stay self catering. The price will affect my review as it should.the complex is clean we have been here 4 nights and room cleaned twice and new towels left.it is a one bed appt with kitchen/lounge and 2 large balconies it is very quiet but kids are back at school (uk) but some Spanish families are present so may be different July/ August A/C is free just need a deposit at reception, safe is 1.80 euros per night so no rip offs here. Plenty of sun beds but not the most luxurious ,complex is pleasant and lots of nice gardens as you wonder around, car parking is free as is on road but seems safe and convenient,if req wifi is available in room at 19 euros per week whic we would spend more on phone and with this FaceTime is accessible so works out cheaper to ensure kids have not wrecked house while away, I would stay here again it is what it is for the money. Apps 15 min walk to town and a taxi back no more than 3.30 euros do not expect princess yakuza and you can have a cheap and thoroughly pleasant stay

Room Tip: We stayed in 1059 a few steps but very pleasant and quiet try to avoid poolside as could be noisy an...

Not AI so can't comment on food 2 pools are nice, 2kiddies pools also, loungers are old, some are broken but plenty spare to swap about, towels on loungers is not allowed but seems to happen to some extent, AC in room with a €20 returnable deposit, basic shop onsite but it takes 4 minutes to walk to the hyper dino at the corner of the street, 10 minutes to costa dorado beach where you pay daily for a lounger and umbrella, we are on day 2 and happy to do review already, staff are great rooms clean, last renovation in 2003 and you can tell its getting near another, lots of bars and restaurants but you do need to enjoy a stroll

Room Tip: Room 508 right beside kiddie pool

Stayed here in November for my Birthday, decent apartment, clean & tiday, very cold pool, sometime a little wait up the bar, even though there were no queue's. Food edable, would not starve and I am a very fussy eater, just sometime the concoction's are a little weird, but edible. Entertainment was a little weird, with a Drag Artist and a very poor Karaoke set up, better off play some background music. The sauna/jacuzzi/ indoor pool were not available. (you would of thought the winter is when they should of made the effort)
Our room was above the passgeway by the little shop, small balcony, but what a great sun terrace outside the front door (hidden secret)
The Promenade is a 5-10 min stroll, marina to the left, lovely Italian restaurants and a nice cheap bar, and does a mean burger/chips (snax) Then to the right alot more bar / restaurants, and at side of Burger King a fantastic Italian Restaurant, decent price for the 100% quality. 1 street back from prom alot more British bars/food and alot cheaper than on the prom. Weather a little up and down, but got on with it, and still managed a decent tan. Hotel ok, but will return to Playa Blanca.

Room Tip: room on top of passage next to shop, looking out at the back pool, with the hidden sun trap terrace.

My husband and I are just back from spending a weeks honeymoon at the THB Royal. The rooms were clean, the kitchen area was well equipped with everything needed for a self catering holiday. The pool area was very nice, always clean and tidy, and never had any problem getting a sun bed by the pool. The staff were always helpful, we made use of the tennis court, you can hire rackets and balls for 5euro per hour. Air con is free with a 20euro deposit for the remote. All in all a great experience. If you want 5* then pay for 5* if your happy with somewhere clean to eat and sleep with out the frills the THB Royal is the place 2 b :)

Room Tip: I preferred the 1st floor room as the balcony is private

My family and I (2 children one 12 the other 18) came to stay for a week here at the end of August.

After arriving at the hotel and standing outside with our cases it looked worn out and tired. However the phrase don't judge a book by its cover comes to mind.

Inside the hotel was very clean and tidy. The only problem that we found was that due to it being near the end of the season there were a few areas that weren't being fixed around the complex.

The restuarant was your typical all you can eat place. (We went all inclusive). If you are not a fan of fish however do not go here as there was about 2 separate fish dishes each night with one night being totally fish and no other meat.
The restuarant and bar staff were incredibly helpful, especially if you tired to speak a little bit of their language but the receptionist seemed to not care whether we were there or not.

The location was perfect, the dormant volcanoes were in the background and although perhaps a 500m walk to the beach it was flat and easily accessible for everyone.

The pool was clean as was the surrounding area, sometimes the music can be a little too loud and tiresome and the entertainment was all geared towards the Spanish.

Despite advertising the sheets are changed twice a week we never had them changed, however we never asked so I suppose that could be seen as our fault.

All in all a lovely part of Lanzarote and an enjoyable stay in a tidy clean and safe complex and I would happily recommend it to friends and family
