Stayed here in November for my Birthday, decent apartment, clean & tiday, very cold pool, sometime a little wait up the bar, even though there were no queue's. Food edable, would not starve and I am a very fussy eater, just sometime the concoction's are a little weird, but edible. Entertainment was a little weird, with a Drag Artist and a very poor Karaoke set up, better off play some background music. The sauna/jacuzzi/ indoor pool were not available. (you would of thought the winter is when they should of made the effort)
Our room was above the passgeway by the little shop, small balcony, but what a great sun terrace outside the front door (hidden secret)
The Promenade is a 5-10 min stroll, marina to the left, lovely Italian restaurants and a nice cheap bar, and does a mean burger/chips (snax) Then to the right alot more bar / restaurants, and at side of Burger King a fantastic Italian Restaurant, decent price for the 100% quality. 1 street back from prom alot more British bars/food and alot cheaper than on the prom. Weather a little up and down, but got on with it, and still managed a decent tan. Hotel ok, but will return to Playa Blanca.

Room Tip: room on top of passage next to shop, looking out at the back pool, with the hidden sun trap terrace.

My husband and I are just back from spending a weeks honeymoon at the THB Royal. The rooms were clean, the kitchen area was well equipped with everything needed for a self catering holiday. The pool area was very nice, always clean and tidy, and never had any problem getting a sun bed by the pool. The staff were always helpful, we made use of the tennis court, you can hire rackets and balls for 5euro per hour. Air con is free with a 20euro deposit for the remote. All in all a great experience. If you want 5* then pay for 5* if your happy with somewhere clean to eat and sleep with out the frills the THB Royal is the place 2 b :)

Room Tip: I preferred the 1st floor room as the balcony is private

My family and I (2 children one 12 the other 18) came to stay for a week here at the end of August.

After arriving at the hotel and standing outside with our cases it looked worn out and tired. However the phrase don't judge a book by its cover comes to mind.

Inside the hotel was very clean and tidy. The only problem that we found was that due to it being near the end of the season there were a few areas that weren't being fixed around the complex.

The restuarant was your typical all you can eat place. (We went all inclusive). If you are not a fan of fish however do not go here as there was about 2 separate fish dishes each night with one night being totally fish and no other meat.
The restuarant and bar staff were incredibly helpful, especially if you tired to speak a little bit of their language but the receptionist seemed to not care whether we were there or not.

The location was perfect, the dormant volcanoes were in the background and although perhaps a 500m walk to the beach it was flat and easily accessible for everyone.

The pool was clean as was the surrounding area, sometimes the music can be a little too loud and tiresome and the entertainment was all geared towards the Spanish.

Despite advertising the sheets are changed twice a week we never had them changed, however we never asked so I suppose that could be seen as our fault.

All in all a lovely part of Lanzarote and an enjoyable stay in a tidy clean and safe complex and I would happily recommend it to friends and family

We were moved here as our hotel was overbooked. We were upgraded free of charge from self catering to all inclusive which was a fantastic bonus & money saver. The staff in the restaurant & bar work tirelessly & do a fantastic job & the maid was really good. Food was very good but a little repetitive after a while unless you like a vast range...we stuck english brekkie & fruit cereals etc in the morning & chicken, pork etc at lunch/dinner but if you are more adventurous there is plenty on offer goat, rabbit, fish with heads etc! The childrens club was very spanish orientated & not much hoing on at there 2 pools...as a result our youngest didnt want to be the only english child to go! That being said we had full use of THB Tropical (where we should have been staying) the pools (18ish of them) were fantastic with slides etc & english ran kids clubs, entertainment quizzes etc round the pool & lots of evening entertainment to choose from (pass card to back gate a must & available from their reception) food & service in their restaurant not as good as Sun Royal. Lovely beach front strip/promenade with plenty of shops, bars, restaurants. Would definately return.

Came to these apartments in april with my boyfriend and where fortune enough to get a heatwave. The complex consists of two pools a restaurant terrace bar and mini supermarket. Our room was basic but clean and spacious and great value as we paid 75 pounds each for 4 nights. We had two balconies which could have done with a clean as a lot of bird mess. The complex is about a twenty minute walk down a long road to the centre of playa blanca which we found was very spread out. The onsite supermarket is small but we found a larger one at the end of the main road on the corner. The apartments were a good base but do not expect 5 star luxury. The resort of paya blanca itself is very spread out and is one main promenade from rubicon marina(which was quiet) all the way to the ferry port. The harbour area and pedestrian area above the harbour was lovely at night to walk around with lots of nice seafront restaurants, the main beach is playa dorada and was peacful with free sunbeds, was lovely. However playa blanca was very a very quiet resort and not much in terms of nightlife the only place to go on an evening was jungle bar and a few others in the papagayo centre but by midnight the place was like a ghost town, we are in our twenties and could have done with a few more bars, but that's my fault really for not researching the resort more. Went to puerto del carmen in the day time and didn't think much of it atall nice beach, very over commercialised woth numerous chinese restaurants and tacky gifts shops, was glad to return to playa blanca. Good for a short cheap break and great value for money.

Stayed here in June of this year for one week and have to say i was glad to be leaving by the last day.
The apartment/room was clean and functional.Front desk staff very helpfull.
The food was not very good and represented poor value for money. We ate out on a number of occassions rather than eating in and we had paid for all inclusive.
The bar area is a disaster with the cheapest most uncomfortable chairs one could imagine. The bar staff were neither welcoming or pleasant, indeed the main bar man{ager?} was downright rude.
The pool area was clean but the sunbeds are old and very dirty.
All in all we decided we would not return to the Sun Royal ever again. A most disappointing holiday.

Room Tip: Rooms away from main pool areas are much quieter.

I have just spent 2 weeks at this hotel with my husband and 2 teenage children plus my best friend, her husband and 2 teenage children. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and cleaned 5 days per week! I was concerned about getting sun loungers during peak season but we had no trouble wotsoever!! The animation team are a great bunch who are genuinely nice people who care about their jobs running the kids club, organising water polo, darts and table tennis daily! The waiters and bar staff are lovely especially Danny who we really liked! I was very impressed with the food as all inclusive can be a bit hit and miss sometimes. There was always plenty to choose from, lots of meat and fish, salad and vegetables. Even chips every day for the fussy eaters!! We all loved it!! Everything is a short walk away! The kids all loved the banana boat and donut on Dorada Beach and Flamingo Beach, both so safe and clean! The town is lovely, we had a lovely meal at The Timanfaya Volcan right on the beach! I can recommend the steak!! The perfume shops are great value esp Sasha!! All in all a great holiday in a fab hotel in a brilliant resort! We will return!!!
