We stayed at Jardines del Sol two weeks ago and the first week everything was ok . The bungalows are well kept and spacious and the pool is clean and quiet. All of a sudden, the big pool was not anymore a pool, but a huge kitchen sink full of bubbles . They proceeded to shut it down in order to empty it and “clean” it. We couldn´t believe that it took six days to reopen it again. In the meantime, nobody at the reception could tell us when we could use it again and what happened really . We were sent to a noisy apartment complex nearby full of screaming children around the pool. I strongly believe that the management of Jardines del Sol can´t handle a problem , and that turned our much awaited holidays into a nightmare, Never again.

Thank you for your comments regarding your stay with us. We did have an incident with the pool filling up with bubbles due to someone playing a joke and putting detergent in the pool, our maintenance team alerted the management straight away when they did their strict cleaning of the pool that morning. As our first concern is for the safety of our guests we did have to shut the pool down. We would not reopen the pool until we had a water analysis done by the laboratory then to drain the pool and do a deep clean, refill the pool then another analysis done to make sure the water was safe for swimming, unfortunately all this takes time. Although we still had two pools operational we understand that our guests would want a bigger pool, a neighbouring complex did kindly let us use their pool facility for our guests. I am sorry to hear that you did not find it very relaxing due to the children playing around their pool. I would like to apologise for this unexpected incident and hope that one day you change your mind and revisit us at Jardines del Sol.

I was impressed the moment I walked into Reception. The staff are so lovely, and helpful. The apartments are clean and tidy, and perfect to relax in. Each one has french doors and a patio with an outdoor dining table and two really comfy sunbeds. The two pools are really refreshing and the giant chess can keep you occupied for a while. Its just down the road from a supermarket, and only a 15min walk to the beach which in the warm weather is lovely. We got a taxi (however it is only about 20-30min walk) into playa blanca for dinner a few nights and the restaurants are really nice. I highly reccomend 'Volcan de Timanfaya'. However, we also ate at the onsite restaurant 'Ruby's' and the food, the staff and the prices are very, very good! It is a relaxing get away place to stay and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. Thankyou Jardines Del Sol!!

We are pleased that you enjoyed the facilities on resort and that you found your accommodation relaxing, this is exactly how we wish for our guests to return home, feeling relaxed and refreshed. This is the second year running that we’ve had poor holiday weather in March for quite a few days – when high pressure is stuck over the UK and the UK’s weather is coming from the east, the windy and wet stuff coming from the west over the Atlantic seems to really like the Canaries nowadays. Maybe that’s why the islands are starting to green up compared with 10 or 15 years ago. We are very happy to recommend Jardines Del Sol but we also recommend you avoid booking in advance for the winter months, if you can.

The resort comprises 24 pairs of well spread out two bedroom / two bathroom semi detached bungalows, the majority of which face South West. In normal weather, they’d get pretty good sun on their patios and the prevailing North East wind would come from behind. The bungalows have an entrance hallway and double glass doors lead into a good size lounge with pull out sofa bed if you need it. We had a 32 inch Sony LCD TV as well as a DVD player. In addition to the usual channels in Spanish and in other languages, the resort has a huge satellite dish through which they also receive BBC1, BBC2 & ITV1, well sometimes that is. In the evenings, the signal quality is so bad from about 5pm to 10pm that the picture breaks up most days and it does the same thing when the weather is bad, which is just when you might want it. Take some of your own DVD’s in case you (are forced to) stay in, although the resort does have a free DVD lending library and some shelves of books in reception that left by previous guests.

The bedrooms are simple, not luxurious, but they are OK. The main bedroom facing the front is larger, has an ensuite with bath and shower over, a 5 foot double bed and a small wall mounted 14 inch TV. The bed was pretty rock hard, rather than just being firm and supportive, and if you are susceptible to pain from pressure points, expect to get some. Bedroom 2 at the back has two single beds. The second bathroom has a good shower cubicle only, no bath. For a unit with its own hot water supplied from a small tank in the kitchen the shower pressure was really pretty good. Both bathrooms have good electric lighting at night and during the day they are both lit up by sky lights that makes it look as if you‘ve left the light on. The downside – both skylights have perspex domes and when it rains “stair-rods” it sounds like thunder.

You get a full kitchen including microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and all the usual plates and bowls and utensils, except there is no butter dish, which is strange. You also get a large 18x12 glass cutting board, which is hard enough to hold when dry but slippery as anything when wet – we think it’s an accident waiting to happen, so watch out. You get a couple of dishwasher tablets at the start of your stay and you can buy more at reception, but it would be cheaper to take a few from home.

Depending on when you go you may be pleased, like us, to find that the air conditioning units can be turned to heat, and we needed it a few days as well. So much for a sub-tropical climate! The bungalows have a large table and 6 chairs and 2 sun beds on the patio. If you want to use the in room safe, there’s an overly expensive charge of €15 a week – even with ongoing insurance costs these things must pay for themselves in less than a year – why the costs are not included in the annual maintenance fees we don’t know, but it’s profits we guess. And if you’re the sort that lugs a laptop away with you, expect to pay an arm and a leg. Unbelievably, the resort charges €15 just to use the terminal in reception for an hour! You’d be much better off going into town or into one of the hotels and use their facilities. The pool area is really nice and we even managed to sit out by it a couple of times – until the rain came back that is. Some other guests took a dip – it looked pretty cold. The pool has a daytime lifeguard. He may not have had a lot to do, but why he disappears for lengthy periods into a cupboard below his chair position is anyone’s guess. And management do nothing to stop people from bring glass down to the pool from their rooms, in spite of the signs – some people are just thoughtless and management are just weak we guess, until someone gashes his or her foot that is. The resort does not have a gym.

The onsite restaurant, Rubys, serves very acceptable UK pub type food and they also do takeaway, which we used a couple times due to the poor weather. Given the small size of the resort don’t expect much in the way of supermarket facilities, they just wouldn’t be able to compete. Ruby’s does boast a “mini-market” which is actually just a cupboard size room with a few things on the shelves. And don’t be tempted to order baguettes on site – they cost you €1.50 each for something that you can buy in the Spar just past the Iberostar hotel for just 35 cents when on offer, 53 cents full price. If you shop in the Spar there’s plenty of parking by the side and opposite. There’s also a good size Hiperdino supermarket at the back of the pedestrianised shopping street in town with underground parking. Use checkout till one and get your ticket stamped then parking is free. Jardines del Sol is a little way out of town. It’ll take you about 25 minutes to stroll down to the waterside walkway below the shops, which is lined with restaurants. The taxi back from the main rank in town costs €2.75, a little more on Sundays and holidays.

With the right weather, Jardines del Sol would be particularly enjoyable. We’ll think about swapping to here again in a few years time, just not in March.

Have just returned from JDS after spending a week there as a Diamond resorts sampler. What a lovely place, relaxed, clean, well equipped and similar clientele to us who just wanted some peace and quiet and a chance to unwind. The weather was lovely , where else could you sit out and eat your breakfast at this time of the year without paying a fortune. The bungalows are very well equipped, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave etc, handy to come home with clean clothes for a change! The staff are all extremely helpful, polite and can't do enough for you. We had children aged 12 and 7 with us and it was completely safe for them to go and play table tennis/pool/mini golf without us worrying as the complex is quite small. Ruby's restaurant is extremely well priced and the food is good, especially the Sunday dinnner where it was nice to get away from the 'chips' and no veg restaurant meals. Gardens and pool kept beautifully and whilst the pool was a little chilly once you actually got in it was lovely....just go for it and jump straight in !!!!!!They also do takeaway pizzas etc which are also very good. I would recommend getting a car and then you can go and explore the rest of the island. Recommend Los Rancho Texas for the country and western night if you want a laugh and also the zoo there whilst small is beautifully kept and the animals all seem extremely happy. Thansk JDS for giving us exactly what we needed after such a cold winter.

We’d like to thank you for your feedback. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Jardines del Sol, we cater for all ages and aim to provide a very relaxing and peaceful holiday. We are pleased that you enjoyed the accommodations. Our staff strive to give the best possible service to our guests so that you leave happy, relaxed and want to return. Rubies bar operators are reasonably new to the resort and will be delighted to hear how you viewed their food and service. The attractions around Lanzarote are fun and also the views are fantastic, we agree that a car would be a good investment if you prefer to explore by yourselves. Thank you again for your feedback and we would be so pleased to welcome you again at Jardines Del Sol.

We have just returned from a week's stay at Jardines del Sol, it was 'perfect in every way', the accommodation was spotless and comfortable, the weather was beautiful - if a little too hot on a couple of the days we were there, and the onsite restaurant 'Ruby's' was excellent. I would like to recommend the staff in Ruby's restaurant for their excellent customer service, menu, food and attention to detail - the majority of the food is home made and delicious, and available all day and evening. We would not hesitate to return to this beautiful resort and could not find a better onsite restaurant,
