Me and my girlfriend ( 37&25) stayed here end of November and must say we had a very enjoyable time . We had read some of the reviews about the rude staff and the pool bars bad service , so we were a little sceptical on what to expect . I found the staff to be very friendly , the blond haired lady at reception should get a special mention for her hospitality . The pool bar was manned at all times it was open . We were full catering so most of it was self service anyway . the evening bar sometimes took some time to get served ,but out of season you would expect that . The food we found absolutely fine ,we had heard the selection wasn't great but we found this wasn't the case ( mind you neither of us are fussy eaters ) there was something different every night . The top pool was very cold as my girlfriend will testify when I threw her in . The bottom pool was much warmer and we used it a few times . The gym is basic but useable the indoor pool was also quite cold . We found the room a little dated but very clean and it was looking out to the pool which was nice , not to sure I'd be so happy with one of the back rooms looking out on to the road and a barren field . Overall we had a very good stay and if we didnt want to travel to new country's we would definitely go back again .

I don't normally pay much attention to other people's reviews of buffet meals as I generally enjoy Spanish food but this left me cold. We were all inclusive but ate out most nights. We had lunch and breakfast in the hotel but had to get in to lunch as soon as they opened at 1pm otherwise everything was cold. The food was repetitive and not particularly imaginative - if you didn't look in the restaurant between meals, you wouldn't have believed the starter and dessert dishes didn't just stay there permanently. The indoor pool was a godsend when the weather wasn't very nice for a few days (Nov '12) but neither the sauna nor steam room were working. The rooms were fine but a bit basic and the TV switches itself off after 10 - 15 mins. We were sold this as a 4 star property but it is very clearly 3 star and marked up as such. Pool area was nice. I suppose you get what you pay for but with hindsight we'd have happily paid more.

where to start? I was one of those people that spent around 2 weeks reading reviews and decided to try this as it appeared to be a good 3* rather than a poor 4.I will be as honest as I can without being over dramatic Firstly you will never get a double bed here. I booked one and apparently they dont do them. The food is truly shocking at breakfast and dinner. lunch was passable. Bar shuts at 11pm, a member of staff got drunk and aggressive.maid service was poor, pool area was dirty in fact i could go on burt wont. if your expectations are low and your budget is tight save up for a bit longer and book something better.

Firstly it should be noted that we decided pretty late on to have this winter sun holiday and only did a little research so we spent a week from November 12th.
We took the all inclusive option and were allocated room 552 which was first floor (top floor) and it comprised a very roomy lounge/kitchen area with cooking facilities, sofa, table and chairs, tv and lamps etc. Bathroom with bath and shower, bedroom with fitted mirrored wardrobe bedside tables and chair. All rooms were very clean as was the large balcony area, with table and chairs and a useful clothes dryer.
Three pools, one indoor with jaquzzi, and the two outdoor pools were kept very clean and the loungers were plentiful so no need to reserve, in fact the hotel state that reserving is not allowed, hurray! However as there were roll up sun bed foam pads these were often to be seen being taken back to people's rooms, why?
A couple of slides and a little play area was ideal for little children especially as they slide into a small pool area of its own.
Dining was very good overall, I have read some of the other reviewers comments and agree some of the choices were the same or similar throughout the week, fresh salads with tuna, or mackerel or sardines, always plenty of hot choices and good puddings, fruit, ice cream, yogurt, mousse or cakes. The waiters cleared away quickly and were always friendly and pleasant.
As for drinks, the taps for the wines and beers were the customer facing and you simply helped yourself, soft drinks and coffee the same!
At night if you wanted a spirit drink from the bar you were at the hands of the only real weak link at this place a female bartender who spent more time wandering around or dancing with the guests, she could leave the bar unattended for 15-20 minutes at a time so if you wanted a soft drink or a beer you were fine but anything else you could go thirsty for a while as she gyrated about to some music or went into the kitchen to eat her sandwiches.
That lady apart this was the only negative we could make, a steady ten minute stroll saw you at the promenade with smashing bars, shops and restaurants along the sea front.
Wednesday and Saturday is Market day near the Marina which is well worth a visit. Local crafts and the usual trinkets can be found with bars and eateries all around.
Duty free shopping helped with Christmas presents and we made some great savings.
It is easy to catch a ferry from the port to make the seven mile crossing to Furtenvtura and the local bus station is at the port end and is cheap to use.
Playa Blanca is lovely and we were delighted with our choice of accommodation too, it's not the Ritz but nether was the cost.

Room Tip: Choose a room the reception side to catch the most sun.

overall was i was pleased however i a few things did spoil it mainly i found the female receptionist rude and also could have been a little more helpful when we arrived!! we where all inclusive and had an early morning flight. We arrived in time for lunch however wernt told and she sent us around the world to get to our apartment up and down stairs when she could see i was hindered by a crutch and also had my elderly mother we me! Apartment was lovely and the grounds were lovely and clean and all the other staff esp Maria where lovely!! as coming to end of season i thought entertainment staff cud have got more people involved !! I found the food fresh and always a good selection i will eat anything, however my mum did struggle finding things she enjoyed and the food wasnt very hot!! I think if i stayed here again i would def go self catering!! also its a bit of a trek to beach wud have loved a back gate to cut it a little shorter. Reccommend the short south tour

Room Tip: we were looking out over the sea (in the distance) block 400 !

Well...have to say after reading some of the reviews on here from people, AFTER had already booked 11 night holiday here, was VERY worried what I had done.
It was NOT a mistake though!!
My partner and I booked this as a cheapy get away, for 11 nights with First Choice. We travelled on Sunday 4/11 and returned on Thursday 15/11. We had a 6ish evening flight, by time we got to Lanzarote and had transfer to Caybeach it was 1 am. The receptionist was very nice, showed us on a little map where our apartment was and gave us both a packed lunch of a sandwich, ice cream, orange and a bottle of water.
We unpacked, and there was plenty of hangers and room for clothes. The apartments were good, two wide single beds pushed together in the bedroom, with mirrored wardrobe which is where the safe deposit box is. The bathroom was clean with enough towels and loo roll etc. The front room had a sofa bed, a unit with couple of drawers and cupboards, there was a coffee table and side table, and then next to the kitchenette was a table that seats 4. We were all inclusive so only used the kettle and cups. but there was not an awful lot of kitchen equipment but probably enough to get by.
We got up on the Monday and toddled down for breakfast at 8. We were very impressed!! There were cold meats, cheeses, salad stuff, cooked breakfast inc scrambled, fried and boiled eggs. There was pancakes, french fries, baked beans, cereal, pastries, bread and jam and melon and yoghurt!!
Lunches and dinners all had salad stuff, inc pasta salads, mackerel, tuna and sardines. There was always chips, and usually fried potatoes and canarian potatoes, pasta, and various choices of mains, usuall a fish in sauce, some sort of freshly cooked meat, beef, pork or chicken, some eves there was rabbit, we had chicken livers, liver and onions, goulash, lasagna, meatballs, beef in a garlic sauce, pork dishes that melted in the mouth they were so tender...
obviously there is a certain amount of repition as in the salad options, potatoes etc, but the meat dishes changed everyday and there were 4 or 5 things to choose from. There was always soup and rolls too. Desert wise there were 2 different types of cake to choose from, yoghurts and 4 different flavours of mousses which really were really good. Also sometimes there were apples, or pears or banans cooked in some sauce. We ate really well and didn't feel we needed to eat out any of the days as we were more than happy with the food. There was also fresh fruit. Also all inclusive covered snacks at the pool bar, which was burgers, hot dogs, chips and ham and cheese sandwiches. In the afternoons there were usually really nice biscuits too.
The beer was good, tequila not as good, but not bad. You could get tea, coffee and hot chocolate at pool bar as well as alcoholic drinks.
We did think there was a lack of entertainment tho, so we went out most eves after dinner, although there is a bar on site but it doesn't get very lively and closes quite early. The sports bar was a disappointment as no sports on show and no bar!! The on-site shop has most things you could possibly need, although there are supermarkets very neat to apartments.
The staff are all very friendly, the waiters who clear the tables are lovely, as is Maria the bar-lady. Our room was cleaned everyday except Thurs and Sundays. We had a room at the back over looking the tennis courts, not the best view but lovely and quite, an upstairs apartment has more privacy. The pools were good although a little cold for us. There was a tiny round pool for children, and two big pools for adults, and then another one for children with two water slides, and an amusement bit for kids with a pirate and water barrel that empties over the kids.
Have read other reviews from same time frame as were were there, particularly one by stacey s and could NOT disagree more! We found all the staff to be friendly and polite and helpful and the bar lady was not drunk once!! And she was not gone for ages leaving people waiting for drinks on the eves we stayed at complex.
Some people just need to moan about something and exaggerate...for the money it is EXCELLENT value and we will definitely go back and didn't want to leave! We were not told breakfast only on last day and we still had our all inc wristbands on when we got home!! I do not agree with ANYTHING that stacey s said really...makes me wonder if she stayed at same place as us!!
This was a good place for all ages, and there was a real cross section of ages during out stay. Short walk to beach but we were happy by the pool. There were lots of bars, restaurants and shops all within easy walking distance. We loved going to the "Jungle Bar" where there was music at night, a guy called Sly G who was very good.
All in all a great cheap and cheerful holiday and you could easily afford to do it a couple of times a year if you wanted. We will definitely be going back soon!

Room Tip: 354 at back, upstairs so nice and quiet and private although overlooks tennis courts and the road an...

We have been staying at the Cay Sun Beach in Playa Blanca a number of times over the past 11 years and we keep returning so it is certainly OK by us. During this time there have been numerous changes including the introduction of an All Inclusive Package which In our opinion is not the best option and poor value for money. We always go on the self catering and would recommend others to follow suit. The reception staff are always first class here and the maintained staff respond quickly should experience any problems. The apartments are a little dated but have everything you need. The only slight negative is the standard of cleaning which is undertaken 5 times a week and it is not as good as it could be. They have now introduced an indoor swimming pool which is definitely a plus point.. One of the prime rreasons for returning here is the location as it is only a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 15 minute walk to the town centre. A lot of accommodation in Playa Blanca is a long way from the centre so be aware of this fact
