Overall the hotel was not too bad, the food and drinks were okay. the entertainment was poor, run by polish people. Altough we are polish and it was easy to understand but for all other nationalities, it was much more difficult. The Children's disco and the evening show was far too late at night. Even if it was interesting, (parrots & birds show-twice a week)my daughter wasn't able to see it because of the late time of presenting. The rest of the shows were boring. The mini club for children did not have many activities to interest the kids. In lanzarote the general setting is desert-like and quite windy. Not much green outside the hotel. Not many attractions on the island. The near-by beach was nice, and the nearest shopping centers are close to the hotel.

Arrived after 10pm and was told to turn left to our room which we found eventually. They had prepared us a cold meal as we had missed dinner which I appreciated, however it was a steak and veg cold dinner but they had tried. We ended up going for a chinese. The hotel is lovely the rooms are clean but they let themselves down with silly little things. One morning there was no plates or bowls or knifes or forks for about 10 minutes but this was not down to staff it was down to management as there was only ever one to two members of staff working in the restuarant. the poor guy that worked the pool bar all day also worked the restuarant.
The entertainment team worked hard but the majority were polish and therefore a little hard for the children however the kids joined in with the music. The pool bar shuts on an eveing and there is a small room for entertainment with one barman and no air con. The entertainment team try there hardest to put shows on but they are not proffesionals and the only show that was brought in was a parrott show. All music and entertainment finished at 10.30pm and the bar at 11pm. There is no where on an evening to get a snack or ice cream for the children unless you go out for the evening. Now the Air con is 3 euro per day with a 6 euro deposit, the safe deposit is 3 euro per day and 9 euro deposit and if you want tv it is 3 euro per day and 6 euro deposit. Now I was not bothered about the tv as I do not go on holiday to watch tv. But to be all inclusive and have to pay for air con is a rip off. Also if you need the air con please get it as soon as you arrive as apparantly when we asked for it with 3 days left of the holiday you can only pay for at least 5 days. Although the food was small with variety it tasted great. if yoo go out on an evening there is a little pub called THE NAGS HEAD, Ian who owns this pub is brilliant and looks after you and has games etc... for the children. please pop in he is upstairs from Gravity Cocktail bar. We never went into gravity as a young man owns it and the first time we went he said no children after 11pm and the second time we went, we had been for a meal and thought we would have a few drinks we went at 10.10pm and he would not let us in again he said no children after 10.30pm it was only just after 10pm and the other night he had said after 11pm, so we went straight to The Nags Head. However Gravity are happy to try and get you in during the day to buy there food.

We have just come back from this hotel on 17th July, we picked this hotel because we were taking our 5 yr old granddaughter, and thought that the water slides and mini disco would be ideal for her.
Overall we found this hotel ok but there were slight things that need upgrading, we got there after 8 at night to find no shop open to get juice, milk and water.
The food was okay at breakfast always something to eat and at dinner there was food at the pool bar, burgers hotdogs and chips etc, that was ok for our 5 yr old but the evening meal was disgusting, I'd advise anyone taking fussy children to make sure they eat plenty of breakfast and dinner.
The entertainment was basically aimed at the polish and therefore it was frustrating, but because I wouldn't put our little girl in the kids club they didn't involve her into the disco etc, they should have come and got all the kids not just the ones they knew from the club.
All in all I'm just glad we was only there for a week other couples we got talking too had serious issues with that hotel, and they told us we should have got complimentary bottles of water when we got there, which we didn't. They also said when they complained they didn't get anywhere either with the hotel receptionists or the first choice travel rep.
Overall though we loved playa blanca and it is true you get what you pay for, when we return we will be going to a different hotel.

Just returned from a fantastic week. The resort is well catered for families, with a good baby pool and fun slide pool. A great kids club with very friendly staff filling each day with activities and themes for the children. A children's disco every night and a talent show every week. The food choice was brilliant, and very fresh, catering for all tastes.
The only fault for us, was how late the bar and children's disco started, as you only had about an hour before the kids needed to go to bed. It would have been better if the bat and disco started about 7 - 7.30pm instead of 8.30pm.

just returned from a fortnights all inclusive on the 12th july and was more than impressed with the facilities, must admit i was a bit sceptical after reading some of the negative feedback.
first impressions, receptionist very helpful even when we were checking in at 11 oclock at night.
our apartment was cleaned everyday except sunday(everybody needs a day off).the maids were out at seven in the morning cleaning all the pathways,we got exactly what we asked for in the way of an apartment as i had requested one close to the pool(room 706 ideal).
i know that everyone has moaned about the polish entertainment team, but personally thought that they were a great bunch of people and got on very well with them, really loved the daily darts competition which turned into an afternoon of darts with the boys.
did not think that the food was repetitive as there was always a vast choice, pool snacks were good also.
all in all a fantastic hotel ideally situated as in the fact that it was close enough to town but far enough away for peace and quiet.
travelled as a family of four and met some great friends already thinking about booking for next year.

We visited this hotel from the 26th june until the 10th july 2012 on an all inclusive basis. We arrived at 8.40pm and the man on reception told us that tea would be ending in 20 minutes so we could leave checking-in until after we had eaten if we wished, which was good because some hotels would just have you check in first before realising you then couldn't have anything to eat.

The apartments are nice, don't have anything to complain about them apart from the floors aren't as clean as they could be but everything else was spotless. But, you can hear quite a lot from other apartments. The hairdryer in our room was broken and when we told reception that evening, it was fixed the next morning but if you were planning to dry your hair with it, it may take hours as its not very powerful so i'd suggest taking your own!

The food the first week we stayed was great, plenty of choice and variety but as the hotel got busier and busier, (and maybe we got bored of buffet style food as well), it wasn't as warm or as nice as in the first week. They do have a microwave to warm anything up though which is useful as with buffet food you can't always keep it piping hot. Finding a plate was sometimes and issue as well as somewhere to sit but that was more greedy people using 3 plates at once rather then getting one plate and refilling it! Food wise there was always pasta, sauce for the pasta, chips (even for breakfast), a fish and a couple of meat/chicken/pork choices and there is also a childs buffet that always had beans and hot dog sausages then either some nuggest/fish fingers or maybe pasta. Then there is a big salad buffet, plenty of bread and a desert buffet. There were also snacks at the pool bar of chips, burgers, hot dogs and toasties which you can get in between when the restaurant serves food so most of the day you can get something to eat. All in all, there is plenty of choice, even if you're quite fussy there's always something you can eat and the food was good for the price you pay.

You helped yourself to soft drinks which made life a bit easier than having to queue for one. The bar at night was always very very busy and we couldn't find a seat half the time and the entertainment wasn't amazing but they tried! At night you sometimes had to queue for a cup to even get a soft drink which was annoying due to the queue.

The review below mentions the lifeguard ruining childrens' fun with slides etc but when we stayed there was a male lifeguard and he was very helpful with finding people a sunbed or fixing one and he also checked the pools in the morning and replaced any broken slats. Of course people reserved their beds as ridiculous times in the morning but we went down about 9am everyday and always found a bed. When you do find one, its best to check its not broken as a few are.

You do have to pay for air con even if you're all inclusive, its 3 euros a day plus a 12 euro deposit on the remote. You can also hire towels for around the pool for 15 euros deposit. Theres a shop in the hotel open 8-2 then 5-8.

Short walk to the beach and main part of playa blanca which has some lovely restaurants and views. Marina rubicon is about 15/20 mins walk or you can get the playa blanca circular bus around. The marina holds the market on wednesdays and saturdays. Playa blanca is a lovely little area and has lots of bars and restaurants and shops.

Having been here last year for our holiday we decided to go again although this time eyes opened a bit more, few changes to the resturant the food was good but not much variety the same food from day to day. The rooms were equipped with everything that you required for an all inclusive ,air conditioning you had to pay for but not really needed, television was free last year but had to pay for it this time although we didnt. The entertainment team are all polish some familiar faces songs and dances exactly the same no change in any of the day or night entertainment programme was hard to understand as english language not spoken very much. Very good hotel for children in the way of swimming activities . Last point was that you could hear your neighbour having a pee at the toilet during the night .
