hi just come back from cay beach sun aparthotel, 22nd - 29th november, weather was ok but not really hot had a few days where it was overast and had a few showers but most of the time it was sunny.
cay beach is a 10-15 minute walk from playa dorado beach and the promenade with all the souvenir shops.
the complex itself - clean with 2 big pools (not heated) 1 baby pool & a pool with climbing frame and slides and 2 tunnel slides.
entertainment - not brilliant and is all finished by 10.30 at the latest, entertainment crew do their best.
inside pool - brilliant, lovely & warm, has jacuzzi and gym all very new, sauna and steam room werent ready.
apartments - were clean and quite roomy, you have to pay 6 euros if you want the remote control for the tv so you get english channels like disney and foxfilms.
food- wasnt too impressed, not much choice, wouldnt go all inclusive again.
went to costa teguise market, again wouldnt bother going things are just as cheap in the shops.
i would recommend this aparthotel to people that want a quiet relaxing break.

Room Tip: we stayed in apartment 156, it was in a quiet part of the resort, the view wasnt brilliant but wasnt...

We stayed at the Cay Beach 6 nights from November 19th. The apartment was very big (living room with sofa, TV, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, one double and one twin, a spacious terrace overlooking the pool), equipped with every comfort.
In the kitchen are missing some equipment, but just for a short holiday.
Cleaning is discrete, the apartment is cleaned every day except on Thursdays and Sundays.
The hotel has big outdoor pools and then there's the pool for the kids.
The complex also has an indoor swimming pool (adults only) and sauna, steam room (mostly off) and Jacuzzi.
The complex also prepares of a small supermarket and of a cafe on board swimming pool.
The animation is not the top, they are nice, could do of better!
The complex isn't far from the beach (10 min. walk, 5 min car) and not even the center of town. Of course we had the car, I suggest you take a rental!
We never ate at the Hotel restaurant. I recommend you go one evening from "Casa Pedro" for a good paella.
All the staff is very kind and polite. We thank especially the staff at the reception, always available.
Suggestion to see papagayo Beach, that is not distant!
Good vacation, has been well! Will return!

We have just returned from a pleasant stay at Cay Beach Sun. After much help from Trip Advisor i thought I'd better return the favour...

Apartments: Basic but clean. The sofa and fridge were a bit tatty, but they a served a purpose. Everything you need to get by eg kettle, toaster, 2 hobs, no oven but I think the microwave has an integrated grill (we didn’t use it though). There was also a coffee make and an electronic lemon squeezer (if you feel the need!). The beds are comfy and there are black out blinds in the bedrooms.

Food: We were self catering but we paid to eat dinner at the hotel on our first night. It was self service and there was a choice of a few different hot meals, along with salad. It was all perfectly adequate, but I wouldn’t like to eat in the restaurant every night because it’s quite bright and with not much ambience. It’s the type of place where you eat your food and then move onto your evening entertainment, whereas we like a meal to be a dining experience and a major part of our evening out.

Staff: Were friendly and helpful and spoke good English (and put up with me trying to speak Spanish!). We came back to the apartment when the cleaners were there and they were very pleasant and all smiles.

Outside pool area: Here is where the Cay Beach Sun excels – there are 2 decent sized pools, along with a great kid’s area with a couple of water shoots and a pirate ship. I think there might even be another smaller one for toddlers as well, and there is also a hot tub / jacuzzi. The whole area is very clean and well maintained with palms trees aplenty! There were plenty of sunbeds, but we were there in November so I guess it’s a lot quieter then.

Location: Situated about half a mile from the beach, there are loads of nice restaurants along the beach front, or you can wander to the marina which is lovely. As there are no high rise buildings in Lanzarote the place has a much more authentic feel than other tourist resorts. The whole area was very clean and well maintained and we were suitability impressed.

Cay Beach Sun apartments are clean and have everything you need for a basic holiday and also a restful time around the pools. Food wise - we love to go out and sample the wonderful array of restaurants and bars Playa Blanca offers. The pool areas are pleasant and the complex is in walking distance to the local restaurants and the beaches as well as the marina which is a pleasant stroll away. The indoor pool is an added bonus either when the sun gets too much or if the weather isn't so good, plus there is a gym should you feel so inclined whilst on holiday! The sauna wasn't operating when we were there which was a bit disappointing but might have been due to lack of a call for it? The onsite shop is handy for your self catering basics. You can purchase a few snacks at the snack bar to the side of the upper pool. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and we are looking forward to our return visit soon!

My Wife and I have just got back from the Cay Sun Beach 20/11/11 and i couldn't wait to Write this review. When we arrived the Hotel receptioist was lovely she couldn't do enough for us, as we had asked for a pool view she changed our room because the original one wasn't over looking a pool. When we got to our room 506 it was really nice and clean ther was even a swan made out of the towels with flower's on it, Then it was time for the EVENING MEAL wow what a shock did we get their was not much choice to say the least, the soup was chick pea stew and probably 4 different pastas in sauces some kind of pork chop in a sauce, ham crocquets chips and i think it was tuna fish in sauce, we scraped by. Morning came and we could see the Hotel and its grounds in all its glory and yes it was superb the pools one heated and one not, the toddlers pool was heated and the one where the slides were was not heated their was plenty of sunbeds to go at and even the outdoor jacuzzi was by the pool bar was warm, the Wellness centre by the tennis courts is a must, heated pool and heated jacuzzi shame the steam room and the sauna was not working but not a problem and a well stocked Gym (not as i used it ) The breakfast was a normal full english had to pop it the microwave a couple of mornings but in general was ok.i won't bore you with the weather i will just say it was cloudy and sunny everyday.
I will give you a qiuck run down of the evening meal's
Monday, the soup was chick pea stew again over done beef chunks, meatballs, tuna in some sort of sauce again chips and about 4 different pasta dishes.
Tuesday, chunks of liver something that was supposed to be chicken what it was in god only knows some kind of pork stew only had no pork in it chips and pasta oh and the soup was the same as previous two nights
Wednesday, soup was called Lentil it smelt and tasted like ashtray if i had dug deep enough i bet i would of found FAG ENDS and thats no exageration bef stew, dried pork slices like cardboard, chips pasta not much else
Thursday, went down at 6 o'clock to see what was on offer left over ash tray soup pink slices of pork in a sauce beef dried stew vegetable stew cheese pizza which was a stale cob from breakfast red sauce spread over it and grated chees not even melted chips pasta. So we decided to eat out
Friday, went down at 7.30 their was pumpkin soup 7 trays of pasta in sauces because they had RUN out of MEAT yes you read it right RUN OUT OF MEAT so we had to EAT out again
Saturday, vegetable soup which was leek pink slice of pork looked like it was in mustard sauce didn't look at anything else just said to the wife we are eating out again.
We felt that we had been robbed no not robbed but MUGGED because we had spent good money on all inclusive and we had to eat out and also that people who had only paid self catering was helping them selves to all inclusive drink and food and the staff not stopping them.
This is a really nice Hotel it is just the food that lets it down.
Playa Blanca is a nice resort and plenty of places to eat a drink and chill out

Room Tip: We had room 506 over looking the little kiddies pool and it was fine
