Lovely large pool area and plenty of sunbeds. The dining room gets very crowded at times. Food average but could always find something to eat. The evening entertainment area is fairly small for the size of the complex and has the only bar. Seating is not adequate to allow everyone to see the shows. Perhaps when the weather is warmer the outside entertainment area will provide more seating. Our bungalow, although adequate was very tired - especially the bathroom. Sink tap came off regularly, shower head had to be hand held etc. Our beds made awful noises every time we turned over or moved. The 4 extra pillows I requested were readily supplied. Our beds were made daily (changed 1 per week) and towels changed every day if we placed the dirty ones in the bath. The doors and windows didn't fit properly and had big gaps meaning the rooms were cold once the sun went down and there was no heating. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Just returned from a nice relaxing holiday at this hotel. The grounds are very well kept as is the pool area, in fact the whole place is very clean and tidy. The staff work very hard, always with a smile on their face and always polite and friendly. They seem to make a fuss and genuinely like the little children. There were lots of 'golden oldies' like ourselves but also young families with babies or toddlers and it is an ideal place for them too. Food was more than adequate and plentiful. Loads of sun beds available - there is a sign to say no booking with towels and this is the only hotel we have ever been to that they stick to it. There is a lovely walk nearby along the promenade into the centre of Playa Blanca with a great view of Fuerteventura. A very peaceful and relaxing trip and I have the feeling we will be back at this hotel in the not too distant future.

Just had a week at the Rio Playa Blanca, with children aged 2 and 4. Hotel ideal for families, especially with younger children. Quiet, friendly hotel with lovely staff. Kids club, where kids can do painting and making things with Nanika, and kids disco at night although bit late for younger ones as doesn't start till 830. Nearest beach is 10 min walk, lovely golden sand and very clean. Just beware of the hill when coming back from beach. 15-20 min walk into town or 3-4 euros in a taxi. Didn't rate the trip to fuerteventura, 38 euros, on "glass bottom boat", small enclosed lower level has side windows that you can barely see out off. Very rough trip back too, white knuckle ride almost.
Hotel food was varied and quite good, always something to choose from.
Hotel swimming pools are definately not heated. Toddler pool was freezing which was a bit disappointing as I read somewhere they had a problem last October, clearly not sorted yet, however they were kept clean and lovely side pool for toddlers.
Overall I think this is a nice hotel , with friend staff, personally I would rate it as 3 * but a lot nicer atmosphere than the 4* we visited. I would recommend it as so easy with kids and we all loved it. The weather was lovely all week, partly cloudy some mornings.

Holiday was 17th - 24th March 2014
Arrived at the hotel where the male reception member looked after my suitcase and sorted out the paperwork and directed me to the dining room as he was wary that it was about to close the lunch service which I thought was very god of him.
My bungalow was near the entrance and pool and had no problems with noise. It was clean and tidy with all you need for a holiday.
Pool area was clean and well maintained.
Food all in all was very good with a god selection. By the time I went home a was fed up of eating due to the amount I had consumed.
Staff were friendly and helpful and maintained complex well and bungalow.
Evening entertainment wasn't for me but everyone seemed to enjoy it.
I would stay at the hotel again if I go back to Lanzarote.
This hotel on some travel sites say waterpark in the heading which might put older people/couples off. Ignore it. The waterpark is over the road and you wouldn't know it is there but it is very easy to get to if you have children.
I'm 35 and enjoyed staying at the there.

Room Tip: This hotel on some travel sites say waterpark in the heading which might put older people/couples of...

Stayed here from 2-9th March 2014. The hotel rooms are small bungalows and are very spacious. They each have their own patio area. Staff were very friendly and extremely hard working. They never seemed to be off duty. The dining area did get a bit overcrowded after the first few days which I didn't like really, not keen on lots of people milling around while I am eating but that is what is it like when doing self service. Food was good really although some times I would have liked it to be a bit hotter. Pool area was good although the pool itself was freezing, time of year I expect. I think the servicing of the rooms could have been better, some days the maid only emptied the bin. The beds were only made on one day while we were there, didn't complain as only trivia really. I did have to go and ask for towels though as they didn't get changed for several days. Drinks were served a couple of nights in plastic cups because we were told they had run out of glasses and one night as early as seven thirty I was served coffee in a paper cup, I did not like this. I would not expect this in a four star hotel. All in all, we did enjoy this hotel but I think a few more staff should be employed in order to keep the dining area cleared a bit better.

Room Tip: We were in a one bedroom bungalow and I think the rooms are all pretty much the same. I don't t...

This was our second year at Rio Playa Blanca. We are a family with 2 boys aged 12 and 13. There is always plenty to do or not do. The food is amazing and staff are the friendliest we've encountered especially the animation team. Cannot praise them highly enough, especially Quinn, Julie, Nanneke and Bob. They made our holiday extra special for both us and the boys. Great fun, great time great holiday. Will be back next year! Have a good summer guys xxx

This was our second visit to the Rio Playa Blanca and we enjoyed it as much as we did the first time. The food is excellent and there is something for even the fussiest of eaters. There was 4 of us so instead of one big bungalow we had 2 small ones which were next to each other. I had asked for one not too far from the restaurant as im disabled and where they put us was just perfect. This place is great if your disabled as there is a ramp to get out as well as a flight of stairs . We had an absolute great time and have booked again in october.

Room Tip: the beds are a bit hard so be warned but you do get used to them!
