We have just returned from a week here with very mixed feelings.
Let's start with the good bits: the bungalows, while not exactly huge, are adequate and reasonably well-equipped. Some of the food is actually quite good - you will need to choose with care - and the staff in the restaurant are very friendly and helpful. The free wine is surprisingly drinkable, as is the lager. Also, there is plenty of free parking - which is convenient if you have a hire car (highly recommended)..
Nothing much else makes it on my list of positives, so onto the less enjoyable aspects: the restaurant is too small for the number of rooms, so you may well have to queue (more than once). It also gives the place a somewhat hectic feel. The restaurant is not a place where you feel you might want to linger. Coffee comes out of machines and is not very good - but the tea bags are OK. The walk from Lanzasur Club into the central area of Playa Blanca takes around 20-25 minutes, but it is not a scenic route (until you reach the promenade).
Anything else that fits into the 'bad, but not disastrous' category? No, I don't think so. Onto the truly terrible bits then: there are no nice quiet communal areas, where you might relax with a drink or two in the evening. The bar is in the cavernous entrance hall and all the seating is there as well. This means that you will be exposed to the ear-splitting 'entertainment' provided. This seems largely aimed at kids (or those with an infantile mind), but it does not get any better later on in the evening. Even when the 'entertainers' depart, there is loud 'music' of the kind you often hear coming from souped-up cars stopped at traffic lights. (Only this noise stays when the lights change!) Not surprisingly, there will be few more than a handful of people around in the bar area after 22:30 or so. The floors in the entrance hall and around the pool were constantly sticky, as were the tables by the side of the restaurant. I could go on with the awful bits, but I'll mention only one - not once during our stay did we get additional soap and/or shower gel without going to the reception desk ourselves. And I think I have figured out why my feet were always black after walking around the bungalow barefoot ...

Firstly i will start by saying that we are a couple in our mid/late twenties who were looking for a relaxing week away - nothing fancy just some sunshine and quiet.

Knowing that it was a splash resort we were expecting some kids to be around but thought it might be lessened by the fact that it was term time - it wasn't. Lots of kids and families but the hotel seemed to cater well for them - lots of things for kids to do so they weren't all around the pool all of the time, a lot of them were are the water-park a lot so that was good for us as a couple who wanted a bit of quiet. The only time we majorly noticed was when it was feeding time - very noisy and busy (this was in March so i would hate to think what the summer would be like)

The food was quite nice although a tad repetitive - however there are lots of nice restaurants a 10 -15 min walk down across the beach front (nice stroll) which broke the monotony. There are also a few good shops down this way which were nice for afternoon shopping.

Rooms were a nice size and towels changed 2x a week. As i mentioned we were there the 1st week of march and the weather was great very windy and slightly cold in the evening but when the clouds went it was scorching hot and i managed to get a very good tan :D

We traveled on an all inclusive board but it seemed not to include everything, If you want WiFi then that is extra, if you want a slush puppy then that's extra and if you want to play the hotels mini golf then that is also extra, and the Gym - you guessed it, extra charge! So not truly all inclusive.

To sum up we got what we wanted out of the holiday - a week away in the sun to relax with some good food and nice atmosphere. I would recommend for families but maybe not as a couple - there is a couples only hotel across the road which might have suited our needs more, we might try there next time!

This was our first holiday abroad for 14 years, first time with children (aged 10, 10 & 13), and took mum too! Was mainly booked as a proper treat for Husbands 50th, who requested winter sun, fun for children and not excessive distances to walk for Grandma, It ticked all of these boxes & more. All hotel staff were friendly and very helpful from start to finish, waiters worked very hard constantly & had to cope with a few odd families in the minority, who seemed greedy/wasteful/impatient/inappropriately dressed for meals. Place was kept generally very clean & tidy, rooms well serviced no complaints at all. Aqualava waterpark excellent, lifeguards excellent, firm with the rules but very friendly & fair, after all it's your safety they are trying to ensure. Food at waterpark more than satisfactory also. Weather was as expected, some windy days, some overcast but still need your sunscreen every day so take care, we saw a few very burnt adults & children some evenings, ouch!! I wanted us to practice our very rusty/little spanish, but not necessary really as all staff very kindly spoke very good English, but were pleased we had tried I think. We all slept well, good blackout curtains, certainly not too hot and very quiet, even in half-term. My view on the food is that they do an excellent job of catering for a lot of people, there is a lot of variety if you have a varied palate and look properly, everything had a little sign. Our family of six could all choose exactly what they liked, certainly didn't need to eat out. Enough said we enjoyed it all and didn't want to leave. So to all the staff at Lanzasur & Aqualava, Muchos Gracias por tratarnos tan bien.

Room Tip: Nowhere is far from anything really, good layout surrounding main hub area.

We stayed here for New Year and had a fantastic time. The food was superb, the drinks varied and plentiful. The entertainment was very good. The rooms were large and spacious.

We were allowed into the waterpark free of charge which we did on one occasion. We even had our lunch in there one day which was covered in our all inclusive deal.

It was about a 20minute walk into Playa Blanca where all restaurants and shops were.

I would definitely recommend staying here and would not hesitate t come back in the future.

went here 2nd and 3rd weeks in feb looking for some winter sun, the brochure gave us hope of an average hotel with a reasonable price and expectations to match.
WE HAD A BALL. the hotel staff were friendly and efficient, even entertaining at times. the food was better than expected in variety and quality. the barman migual had a very good sense of humour and great work ethic.
the rooms were as described and well equipped, we found that the mattresses on the beds were new. the entertainment was entertaining (we did`nt expect robbie williams) and the water-park was fantastic.
the local area had the usual shops, eateries, bars with superb sea views and a volcano that just had to be walked up.
we loved this place and would go back again......sometimes you just have to remember that your on holiday so relax, make your own fun and enjoy the company of your friends.

Room Tip: rooms starting with the number 5 where in a superb location for us. far enough from the evening ente...

I am sorry to say this holiday was very disappointing and would not recommend this hotel at all. We were on an all inclusive break with our children however we had to eat out breakfast lunch and dinner as the food was awful. Everything seem to be dripping in oil and looked very unappetising! The staff especially in the restaurant were very unhelpful and unfriendly. It was very hot and the rooms/villas had no air conditioning and they had the cheek to charge for fan hirer...I can understand charging a refundable deposit (which they did) but not a hirer charge! The fans were in short supply too. I feel they should have provided fans in the rooms as standard as there was no air conditioning. There seemed to be no quality drinks alcoholic or otherwise. The general appearance of the hotel was very tired looking and in need of maintenance. The best part of the hotel was the splash park which was clean and fairly new looking. They sold us wi-fi but failed to tell us the signal was incredibly poor and the only place we could get any signal was in the lobby! Very disappointed!!!
