We spent over five grand on this holiday for 4 (our children are now classed as adults for pricing purposes and so we needed 2 rooms) so it HAD to meet our expectations. And it did. Absolutely immaculate - from the moment we walked in to reception and our bags were whisked away from us and replaced with champagne etc! Amazing reception areas, beautifully clean, great views, tremendous food choice, pools cold but wonderful when you're in! All levels of service were exceptional.
Our only negatives were 1) we had noisy children above us and were woken a few times by their also very loud/abusive father! Despite reporting to reception nothing seemed to happen 2) pool/sunbed rules are not enforced (the Brits are worse than the Germans for putting towels on sunbeds) and 3) they should have a local (mainly fish) buffet restaurant instead of the Mexican perhaps (which we loved by the way) as it is shame to not have the opportunity to eat like the local do.

We stayed for 1 week during Easter weekend which is the hotel's peak season. We went with our two young children and had a fantastic time. The hotel is beautiful and is one of the best located hotels in Lanzarote. It is in the middle between PLaya Blanca village and Marina Rubicon which was convenient for restaurants. Most importantly it was right on Playa Dorada beach which is a beautiful and family orientated beach. It is not usual for hotels in Lanzarote to be on the beach.
We stayed in a suite which was ideal for a family - it was large and well appointed. It was not high luxury but was definitely of superior quality. The bathroom was superb with a huge walk in shower and separete tub and his/hers sinks.
The room also has a larger than usual mini bar which allowed us to stock our own drinks and food.
The room had flor tiles (typical for Spain) no carpeting so there was a fair amount of noise coming through from other rooms - in particular at night we could hear crying children in other rooms. We didn't consider this to be a major nuisance, we took care of it with ear plugs and considering the rest of the experience was not a deal breaker.
Breakfast was included in our room rate and was particularily good with a huge choice of things and made to order eggs.
We had lunch by the pool on a couple of occasions and found it expensive and not particularly great value for money. The beach-side bar or the little shopping centre next door did the trick for lunch instead.
The lower, sea water pool was freezing but the upper, fresh water one was cool and refreshing and definitely swimmable.
Our children loved every minute of the stay.
The other guests were a great mix of German/English/Spanish and the overall atmosphere was quiet (despite the large number of children) and calm.
I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Lanzarote, especially with children, it is a great departure from the usual all-inclusive/drunk hooligan cheapo chains that plague Spain.

My main problem with this hotel was the rooms and the food. The rooms are fairly basic but big. They have the kind of hair dryers you expect in communal changing rooms on a camp site. The family suites are over a large road(thats your view) and the food although there is lots of it is very average(tapas, meatballs, frozen). The pool however is lovely, as are some other elements of the hotel. I felt the owners of this Luxury hotel needed to visit some proper luxury hotels to see how it is done. Having said that the sun shone everyday but then thats not really down to the hotel. We would not return although we had a great holiday. Feels a bit naff.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights having moved from very poor accommodation near by. From beginning to end our stay was wonderful. The staff were friendly and professional, the atmosphere was peaceful and calm even though the hotel was almost full, rooms spacious and comfortable and location could not be better. I can't wait to go again.

We stayed here for a week in March, with our 11 mth Baby. We had a one bedroom suite on the third floor overlooking the swimming pool and with a seaview, the room was great. We mainly chose this hotel as it offered half board and the rooms also have a kitchenette which was ideal for making up milk feeds etc. We used trip advisor and took someones advice about buying a travel kettle as you dont get this in your room and it worked out cheaper to buy and take your own. The only down side was a noise from the above room, dragging chairs etc. But to be fair with tiled floors in these countries you rarely find somewhere where there is no noise at all. Saying this we still managed to get a good night sleep every night. I cannot comment on noise from lifts as we werent near one so didnt hear anything and as for the evening entertainment again we didnt hear it.

We went half board and I would highly recommend it, the food was fantastic both at breakfast and in the evening, food cooked to order, fresh fish, meat etc. The Italian restaurant also do pasta to order which is outstanding.

In the day we walked to the beach with our beach tent, towels, baby food/toys/nappy bag, so the location of the beach is great as wouldnt have wanted to walk any further with all the beach stuff. I have read an earlier review complaining about the children and babies, but I honestly cannot say that the children made a nusiance of themselves. In the afternoon we stayed around the pool. The children seemed to keep to the childrens pool area and the other pools were used by adults. It wasnt too noisy, you could still lie on the sunbeds and clse your eyes without being disrupted by children. The only down side with the childrens pools are that the bigger one is freezing and the small jacuzzi is tiny but warm - as such all the parents and babies and children end up in the small pool rubbing shoulders. I think it would be better if they made the bigger childrens pool heated.

Fantastic Five Star Hotel and def recommend it and will be staying again.

On the whole this is a good hotel, the staff were very friendly and efficient - at check-in and in the restaurants, particularly at breakfast when the staff were great. The bar staff were not so good, service was slow and the service lacked a smile in most cases - this was despite the bar being almost empty.

The pool area was great, there were plenty of loungers and they were well spaced so you always could find a peaceful spot. The juice bar was a nice touch, however there was only ever one member of staff and as each juice is blended to order it was sometimes quite a long wait. There was almost no poolside drinks service, which was a real shame and I think must be a big revenue stream wasted for the hotel.

The eating experience was very mixed, the restaurants in the piazza were pretty good, the Japanese was quite an experience, the food is cooked in front of you and was fresh and tasty. It was quite an interactive experience, the chef flipping cooked omlette for you to catch in your mouth was quite messy! But well worth a visit Breakfast at the Hacienda was wonderful, particularly if you get there early enough to grab an outside table, food quality and variety was excellent. The big downside was the buffet dinners - we booked half board and only went once, the food was pretty awful but the atmosphere was dire - motorway service station comes to mind, thankfully you could get a discount at the a la carte restaurants so wasnt too much of a problem.

The rooms were spacious and well furnished (we had a 1 bed suite). We had booked a partial sea view, however we were in a dingy corner round the side and if you strained over the balcony you could make out a couple of inches view of sea. I upgraded the room to a sea view at a supplement, which was well worth it - we had a great sea and pool view, although as others have mentioned the balcony could be noisy when there was live music. The rooms were very clean, although the maid service seemed to go on late in to the night - at 10:30 on two occasions the room above us was being cleaned and the noise carried! The bathroom was lovely, probably the best shower I have used in any hotel.

The Thasso centre was good, we had free vouchers for the circuit - the sea pool was great, went back for a facial which was great and seemed quite good value.

The hotel location is great, right on the beach - the area around Marina Rubicon was really nice, there was some great bars, restaurants and shops - we strolled there every day. Playa Blanca was fine but more touristy, not helped by the first place we came across was a Burger King!

Overall a really nice relaxing experience, plenty of facilities and if we go back to Lanzarote I would stay at the Princess Yaiza again.

From the minute you arrive at the reception to check-in, you feel the hotel is special. There are several reception desks, so it's unlikely that you will wait unless you arrive in a large group. Very well trained receptionists stands to greet you and offer you a seat while you check in - as you are given a glass of cava. I know these might seem like small gestures but they are nice little additional touches to give a very warm welcome.
Good Concierge/Bellhop service (no charge for valet parking which many 5 stars will do).

The room was a good size and the furniture excellent quality and comfortable. The Balcony is about 3.5 metres square - plenty of room to sit out and all balconies had 2 reclining chairs and table. the pool is amazing and the loungers are comfortable. During March while the hotel was not full (but still quite busy) nearly all the loungers were taken during the day. I imagine it would be worse in high season.

The restaurants were all good - and the Spa facilities were excellent - 1200 Square metres of Spa treatment rooms, salt water pool, sauna, Turkish baths etc very modern and well equipped.

So the only area I could find flaw is the noise. There are two main sources of noise that contribute to reduced sleep quality. 1) the lifts and 2) the evening music & Entertainment.
The lifts are the noisiest lifts that I have ever heard and seem to run regularly till 2am each night and then on and off all night. We were beside a lift on the 3rd floor and it was just unbearable. I complained after our first night and we were moved that day to another room which was much better. So in the end, we were happy enough - but I suggest that you ensure you are not in a room beside a lift.

The evening entertainment is something alot of guests seemed to talk about (it was the only thing that I conversed with other guests about). It is loud and outdoor - so you can not avoid it - especially if you wanted to sit on your balcony with a book or a glass of wine - and would be better suited to a 2 or 3 star hotel in Costa del Sol. I was amazed!

On a few occasions that we arrived back to the hotel from an evening meal out, we were greeted by this raucous, very poor quality entertainment that put us off having a late drink at the bar. Even if we went up to the more sedate and plush cocktail bar, where there was soft (Sinatra, Buble, crooner type) music playing, the din of the racket downstairs could still be heard and just clashed with the whole athmosphere. What was most incredible was that there seemed to be so few people enjoying the live "entertainment" that it could easily be surmised that it was annoying more people than it was entertaining.

Having mentioned this, I still would have to say that this hotel is fantastic. We will return. We will ask for a room as far away from the lifts and bar as possible but we know that we have found a gem of a hotel... if only they fixed these little snags.
