Our first trip to Lanzarote. A long way from Australia but the hotel was worth it . beautiful rooms, lovely pool, great food.
Only minus was the last night when the people above us partied until 3 in the morning and were repeatedly spitting over the balcony. At 3 a.m. gave up and called reception. I would have hoped security would tour the grounds to stop this kind of thing happening. Little sleep led to a very tiring trip home.

This was our second visit to the hotel. Nice to see that the hotel's computer system recognised we had been before. The staff are very friendly and efficient. When you arrive there is a welcome drink while the room was been prepared. This time we were in B block, on the 6th floor overlooking the pool and sea. The room was very good. Having a small kitchen area with a proper kettle is great for us brits.

We were only on a B&B deal so can only comment on the breakfast (we ate out each night). The breakfast choice was excellent. If you go at a busy time you may have to wait a few minutes to get seated, but we never had to wait for long.

The hotel is very clean and there are lots of places to sit. The staff in the shops were very helpful. The Wifi connection was good in our room. In the evening the turn down service leaves a good quality chocolate for each person.

The only minor thing they could improve on is the 'block booking' of sunbeds by putting towels on them; some end up being empty for up to 90% of the time.

We were there for two weeks over Christmas and New Year. The hotel was beautifully designed and very friendly. The suite was a very good size, with a bedroom, a sitting room with a balcony and a bathroom with a bath and separate shower. Sadly there was a lot of noise transference between floors and we had someone above us who seemed to wear noisy shoes and went walk about early in the morning, waking us sooner than we would have liked. Tea and coffee were in the room, but had to be paid for as an extra. The house keeping was a bit hit and miss, as we sometimes were left with only one bath towel and other times no bath mat. However the room was kept clean and chocolates left each night when the beds were turned down.

The swimming pools were good sizes, 3 full sized and children's pools too. The usual problem of people putting towels on the sun beds and then not using them for a lot of the day, forcing us to use the beach and have to pay for a bed.

We didn't use the restaurants in the hotel as we like to eat out locally as much as possible and there was no shortage of good restaurants within easy walking distance.

My husband used the spa once for the steam room and sauna, sadly the sauna wasn't working. all in all a lovely hotel well situated and friendly staff. We did have breakfast in the buffet restaurant which had a good selection of hot and cold. The staff were very obliging when my husband found the muesli too sweet and offered porridge instead.

We visited this hotel on the last week of the year for a New Year's break and definitely started 2014 in a good place. From our greeted arrival and welcome glass of Cava during check-in we couldn't fault the hotel. The rooms are very spacious suites with everything you could wish for albeit one small gripe would be lack of tea & coffee which is only provided on the first day. Luckily having read other reviews on TA we went prepared and in a five star quality hotel such as this one we would expect complimentary water provided in the room but you either pay the mini bar prices or go to the local supermarket. On the plus side you are provided with a fantastic array of toiletries and a chocolate on your pillow each evening.
The hotel is geared up for families but as an older couple we did not feel this affected our holiday as the children seemed to be kept occupied by all the activities arranged.
There are several restaurants to choose from (we were B&B) and having tried the Isla de Lobos Gourmet restaurant and Kampai Japanese restaurants on our last two nights we really wish we had used the hotel's restaurants earlier in the week although quite a lot of choice at the Marina but not to the same standard. We would consider half board plus on future visits. The breakfast selection was befitting any dietary requirement or personal taste.
The entire complex is immaculately clean and well maintained, the staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful and excellent live entertainment is provided throughout the day and evening should you wish to participate. We particularly enjoyed the live music playing during the afternoons whilst sunbathing and in the evenings at the different venues around the complex.
I do agree with others about the problem with people securing sunbeds with towels which needs to be stopped as at busy times on sunny days it was difficult finding a place to sunbathe. In other hotels of this standard the towels would be removed if sunbed left unoccupied after 30-60 minutes which is a good idea and frees up sun loungers for everyone.
New Years Eve was a celebration worth experiencing if only for the spectacular firework display. Unfortunately our gala dinner was disappointing but that was rectified and dealt with by management and we did not allow this to spoil any aspect of our holiday and met some very nice people as well. Well worth a visit!

This was our third visit to the Princesa Yaiza and again it was excellent. You'll note I reviewed this hotel in January of 2013 (see below) and pointed out a few problems: some minor, some major.

I'm pleased to say the minor problems were absent on our stay this time. The three major areas I pointed out were the other two cold swimming pools, the very poor WiFi, and the problems with towels.

You'll note from my one year old review the GM responded and agreed with the issues. He stated the WiFi problems would be fixed in 2013. They haven't been. The WiFi problems are worse than ever: lots of areas around the hotel in the rooms where there is no coverage, lots of issues connecting, and incredibly slow speed when you are connected. This is really a problem for a hotel of this standing, especially when there are so many guests using iPads, smartphones, etc.

Second, the GM agreed with the issue around only having one pool heated and indicated the others would be heated by 2013. I understand the limitations around this in terms of planning and island regulations, but again, this has not been carried out.

Third, the issue with towels is as big a deal as ever. There's no reason why you should have to battle for sunbed space and be up early to claim your spot. This should have finished 20 years ago! Again, this is not befitting a 5 star L hotel.

I love this hotel. It's beautiful, has wonderful staff, great restaurants, super rooms, and an excellent location. But please, attend to these other problems: they are tarnishing an otherwise outstanding experience.

Room Tip: High floor pool or sea view

Dear guest,

Thank you for telling us your stay at the Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel & Resort. We are so happy to know that some of the problems you found in your first visit are finally fixed.
Regarding the temperature of the pools, according with the current legislation we have to keep the pool temperature in 25 degrees. The solar panels are helpful but sometimes the climatology play us a trick. We’re waiting to improve the thermal system but, meanwhile, I recommend you for your next visit to try our heated pool in Thalasso center, where you could have a relaxing spa experience.
In respect of the wi-fi connection, the island hasn’t a good coverage. In the Princesa Yaiza we try to solve this, we have many antennas scattered throughout the hotel, but sometimes this is not enough. We are working hard every day for fix the problem.
We hope that we could fix or minimize those problems the most as possible, and you will find it better on your next visit. Once again, thank you for trust in Princesa Yaiza and we hope you come back again next year.

We stayed here 9-16 November for a bit of winter sun and we weren't disappointed. The temperatures were about 18 degrees so if you going to sunbathe all day. The hotel itself was wonderful. Excellent attentive staff, lovely atmosphere through the day which enabled you to relax which is what we needed. The room was fine for 2 adults. We were on the 3rd floor and had a lovely view. The pool side gets the best of both worlds in terms of view and sunlight on the balcony. The restaurant was fabulous, I honestly could not fault it and we go abroad approx 5 times a year so I know what I'm talking about. There was always a good selection of salads, vegetarian, meats, fish and desserts and a few extras too. There is also a pizza/pasta station.
The drinks are self service in the restaurant and we loved the sangria and the wine.
Snacks are served most of the time the restaurant isnt open, you could literally eat all day at this place if you wanted. All in all a great trip and we wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Spent Christmas and the new year at the Princesa Yaiza. Great experience from the moment we arrived - the concierge hurried out to rescue our luggage and said come in senora and have some champagne - to the moment we left. Although the hotel is superb, what makes this place is the staff, nothing is too much trouble and many went out of their way to make us feel special. From the guys in the gym to bar, restaurant and reception staff. Had two good gala nights in great company. The location is great, within walking distance to the more sophisticated marina and close to the main resort, we didnt have a bad meal out and about. The jungle bar also provided good nighly entertainment. We had a super junior suite over-looking the pool and sea. Will definetly be back - soon.

Room Tip: a junior suite on a high floor with pool view.
