we have just returned from this hotel after a 2 weeks stay. we have had a great time the staff went out of their way to be helpful and were attentive and pleasant at all times. the newly refurbished rooms were big and spacious and ours overlooked the sea. yes it was windy but it always is here , . The buffet style food meant there was always a fantastic choice and the section where it was cooked to order was superb. it was a perfect relaxing holiday. We have been there a number of times and enjoyed it every time. We thought this time was even better as it is now child free not that we are against children but ours are now grown up.
The reception staff were helpful as I needed to go for an INR blood test and thought we may have to go quite a distance for this but the young lady was very helpful and explained we could go to a clinic in Playa Blanca. Just one comment about the dress code for dinner, one evening a gentleman came into the restaurant in cut off trousers and was refused entry he and his wife looked unhappy. Yet a few days later we saw a girl come into dinner in the shortest tightest shorts and no one said a word her she was allowed in.

Room Tip: Dont ask for garden view as you cant see the sea

We stayed at this hotel for 1 week at the end of January.

Hotel - on arrival we were met with a glass of Cava which was delicious. The foyer and bar area are large and impressive in a Moroccan style. All staff we encountered were helpful and professional. It is a cashless hotel so you put all drinks etc onto a tab which you pay when you check out. I felt drinks were reasonably priced. We used our Iphones all week - ask reception for the password as Wifi is free.

Restaurant - there is a huge selection of food. As we were half board, we had breakfast and evening meal - the breakfast has a good choice; if you want an omelette or well cooked bacon you have to stand at the chef’s counter until it’s cooked, I found the tea a little weak and coffee strong but this is my personal taste. Lots of meat & cheese to choose from. Cava available every morning. The evening meals have a huge selection of food & waiter service brings drinks to your table, but I have to agree with another reviewer - mostly the food is delicious, occasionally (the meat) doesn’t seem the best quality. Staff in the restaurant work very hard to clear tables & supply guests with drinks.

Surroundings - the hotel is beautiful and kept very clean. The gardens are lovely, pools and outdoor Jacuzzi were spotless. Lunch at the pool café is pleasant. There is giant chess, shooting, indoor heated pool etc. There are many organised activities but we did not take part in these. Coffee is best at Mike’s coffee shop which is on site (bottom floor).

Room - We paid extra for sea view and it was worth it. The view was beautiful overlooking the pool and sea (room 266). As Lanzarote is windy in Jan, I was pleased that we could sit on our balcony and enjoy the sun (sheltered from the wind) from morning until mid afternoon. The room was clean and our tea/coffee was replenished daily. My only criticism of the room was the slight smell of dampness which I think may be from lack of ventilation (there is no extractor fan). Sheets were changed every other day. We did not use the fridge, there is a charge for doing so. We hired the safe which was 17 euros once you get your 5 euros deposit back - you have to return the little key and the paperwork. Jan is not the warmest month & rooms have air conditioning (not heating) so I would recommend extra layers at this time of year.

Entertainment - We generally sat in the bar and enjoyed various pianists most nights. In the entertainment room we saw a jazz singer with guitarist which was good. There is entertainment every night. We used the 2 pool tables.

Overall an enjoyable holiday at a beautiful hotel.

Room Tip: Pay extra for sea views

Although late, felt that I wanted to say how excellent this hotel is! We stayed from the 7th-20th of November 2013. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff, the hotel deserves a 5* rating. The food was excellent the waiting staff work so hard to make it a very memorable experience. Our room was on the third floor was lovely and was serviced every day with care, very quite as no one else above you. We have booked to go again to celebrate out 45th anniversary in November. Thank you for happy memories!

This is an excellent 4 star hotel in a good position near sea and with easy walks along promenade. Immaculate throughout the breakfast and dinner buffets have excellent choice of good quality, freshly prepared food with efficient waiting service. The only downside is the coffee served with breakfast is terrible but we realised well into our stay you can ask for Nespresso!! Even the coffee served in the bar struggles to be more than lukewarm. The wifi is unnecessarily complicated but works with persistence! Having said this these are small points and overall I can thoroughly recommend this hotel and would stay there again even though the weather was not very good!!!

Room Tip: Don,t be allocated a room beginning with 0 they have no view whatsoever although room itself is very...

Just returned from another fantastic holiday, shame that the weather was not as good as usual, however, not surprising with the way the world weather is at the moment.
The staff, however, made up for it. They were all their usual cheerful selves and nothing was ever a trouble, they would always go that extra mile. They are like one big happy family, from Javier, Enrique, Carlos, Pepe, Sidi, Alan & Jonny, to name a few, who made sure that we were really taken care of. Olivier & Kelli for the entertainment, and not forgetting the lady who kept our room immaculate, and also Marissa, who came every evening to turn the bed down. Always so cheerful.
The only downside was the position of our room, which overlooked the service road. We felt that we were in a fish bowl and didn't use the terrace at all and most of the time kept the curtains closed. Having said that it really hasn't put us off and we have in fact already booked to go back in June. I think that speaks for itself. You would be very hard pushed to find a hotel anywhere with facilities and service better than this

Room Tip: Usually we have always had the room in the location that we have requested but was told that the hot...

This was our second visit to this wonderful hotel - I meant to review it last year (January 2013) but never got round to it. We went back again because it is an idyllic place to stay after a long hard and wet winter. It is very clean, the rooms are excellent, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is very good. It is set in lovely grounds which are very well maintained and are right on the edge of the sea. We particularly like the position of the hotel at the western end of Playa Blanca because you can turn left out of the hotel onto the wide and well paved coastal pathway and have a good long walk into the centre of Playa Blanca and well beyond - just right after breakfast or before dinner. One thing I did not like last year was that WiFi was available only in Reception and then for only 24 hours at a time - this year (2014) that has been sorted out and it is available throughout the hotel for a week at a time.
