Arrived at hotel with partner and 2 grandchildren first impression looks good but when we saw our room the electric socket was hanging of the wall ,we found a sock and lid from suncream under the bed so cleaner didnt sweep or mop under beds ! The beds were so hard we both adults had sore backs every morning then we had to lie flat on sunbeds as they dont sit up so sore backs again we ended up sitting on chairs ,But the kids enjoyed the pool and waterpark and the entertainment team were good with kids ,,we were all inclusive and the food was ok i always found something to eat although it seemed to be the same all the time but this hotel is not 4 star ! more of a 3 ,we would have liked a change of something to do in the evening but it is in the middle of nowhere so it is taxi or walk into town about 30mins walk or free bus during the day ,would be better if there was a few bars or shops near hand as the football was on and we couldnt get a seat in bar ended up going back to room to watch it .we paid for a week but really only got 6 days as we left at 5.15 in the morning and they didnt even have drinks or tea for anyone before we went .this was our third time in lanzarote but first in playa Blanca wouldnt go back there. Also dont get wifi in rooms unless you pay 20 euro per item there was some in lobby bar but it was poor .

Room Tip: we were in room 101 it was quieter on this side but stank of the drains in the morning

We stayed here from 22/6-3/7 and did have a lovely family holiday and relaxing break.

The plus points - the waterpark (although our little boy was too short to go on all the slides, but dad enjoyed them all the same!), the accomodation was perfectly adequate, clean and had everything you needed, beds pretty comfy.
The food was also not bad for this kind of holiday, lots of choice and plenty of fresh salads and fruit.
Kids club, our little one used this a couple of times and the staff were really lovely and made a big effort to remember the childrens names (not an easy task I imagine)

The neutral points: the entertainment, not really our taste to be honest but other people seemed to be having a good time and the staff certainly work very hard to give everyone a good holiday. It is very noisy on an evening and goes on quite late, I thought it was supposed to finish by 11pm but it defintely went on until nearly midnight on some nights.

The negatives - the other 'guests', ok being a bit snobby here and some families were fine but by the end of our 10 days I was thoroughly fed up with the way other people speak to their children (I wouldn't speak to a dog the way some people screech at their kids) and I saw far too many examples of pissed up Brits for my liking. By the time we were going into our second week it was also getting incredibly busy and the restaurant was not a particularly pleasant dining experience.

Another major flaw with this hotel is that the kids play area, sand pits and football pitch are within the Dino Park water park, this means that once this closes at 6pm you can't access anywhere for children to play. This is a major flaw in my book as our son loves to kick a ball around and have a play before bedtime and we had no-where to play with him.

Finally, Playa Blance is very nice, the beach there is lovely and very safe and we enjoyed both the volcano trip and the trip to Teguise Sunday market. We did hire a car for a couple of days to get away from the crowds and went to the North of the island and had a lovely couple of days.

Room Tip: Go for the rooms closer to the waterpark (ie. away from the outside pool bar) - it's much quiete...

I have no idea where all the bad reviews come from! The hotel was lovely and very clean, food basic but always something to eat- the Mexican night was lovely! The Chinese and Italian restaurants lovely two! The pools and water park great! The rooms big and basic! The entertainment by the thomas Cook was brilliant! Overall a very good holiday and would deff return!

Dear Maguire-brights,

What a pleasure to learn that you fully enjoyed your recent stay with us!

We are happy to hear that you appreciated the culinary offerings of our theme nights and the Chinese and Italian restaurant, as well as the pools and our Dino Park.

Once again, thank you for this top rating and we truly hope to have the privilege of being your host again on a future visit to Lanzarote.

Best regards,

Hotel was clean, lots of swimming pools but far to cold for kids at Christmas time :( (no heated pools)
Food was fine if you got kids- burgers, chips etc.
Loads of people received all inclusive bands when they only bed n breakfast which was not fair to the people who booked All Inc.
The hotel is over a mile away to any other civilization so you need to be fit or taxi is required. The entertainment isn't the best :(
Rooms are nice and clean and to a decent standard.

Room Tip: All rooms look decent

Dear marky_d81,

Thank you very much for your review of your stay last Christmas.

Please be informed that we have 1 of the 4 pools heated all year round.

We were very surprised at your comment about the all inclusive band, which must be a misunderstanding, because we do not offer our rooms on a bed and breakfast basis. We do have half board as an option, however very few people book this option and receive different color wristband at check in.

It would be a pleasure for us to welcome you back in the near future and we remain, until then, with our best regards from Lanzarote.

Me and my family members stayed here for a week this month on arrival I thought my god, everyone looked rough and we was charged for everything, 10euros per towel, air con remote which you don't really need as the rooms are quite cool, safe key 10 euros. By time you have checked in your down at least 60 euros.
The food was nice to be honest most nights very repetitive but most all inclusives are. The children section is very very poor.. The pop in every bar is disgusting stick to juice as it taste and everyone was saying same like it had disinfectant in it.
The rooms we're big but toilets and baths we're all ways blocked when walking round the resort near the water park always got a sewage smell ares blocked in our room and everyone sewage came through sink, the staff we're very helpful though and had it sorted in half hour. The pool area was nice you never have to fight for a lounger or put towels out which is good but the water is freezing, the kids loved the water park. The entertainment through the day is really poor nothing going on only a dance. Entertainment on a night is even worse.
No live shows nothing just hotel just bingo it's ridiculous. Not far from beach or town which is really nice. Hotel entertainment needs sorting out as it's ridiculous how bad it is and the pop and beer need sorting too as it's disgusting.

I wasn't going to review this hotel but I thought I would share our weeks holiday experience.
We are not complainers and have stayed in quite a few all inclusive hotels over the years but I can honestly say this is not even a 3 star all inclusive hotel. The food and drinks don't do this hotel any justice.
The good side to this hotel is the waterpark, and it isn't too far from the town centre or the beach. Also Room service was 5 days out of the 7 where towels and bed linen were changed, rooms were clean.
Bad side is while we were there we had a young father get so drunk on his first day of his holiday that he vomited in the pool( not the hotels fault) however I did report this to the life guard and the animator guy but nothing was done about it (poor hygiene on the hotels part) as I watched plenty of the kids all re gurge the water out of their mouths every minute after this had happened in the vomit, we didn't venture into the pool after that event!! The beach became more popular place to hang out and have a swim!!
Food really was bland we basically lived on salads for the week, that went for all of our 3 families that stayed. Nothing had a taste so we ate most nights in the town centre which did have lovely restaurants, this defies the ''all inclusive'' part!
Drinks tasted different in different areas, soft drinks tasted like pure ''undiluted miwadi'' even the kids complained of how sweet they tasted. The latest bar shut at 12pm, I can understand due to young families however there are families like us who had kids ranged from 13 to 17yrs old and liked to use the internet in bar area but we didn't fancy sitting there and not been able to facilitate of the bar.
I see from other reviews this hotel was self catering previously and I can honestly agree that it should go back to this! As I said we are not fussy eaters but I like a little taste to my chicken and don't like rubbery and tasteless food. My husband thinks i'm been quite nice about this, he would definitely rate this as been a total dive...im trying to be diplomatic!
