Me and my family had such a fantastic time last October that we have booked again for this August.
We just couldn't fault the place from the fantastic staff including the Thomas Cook reps they worked so hard it made Me tired lol
Yes the water is cold but it's filtered to keep it clean so the sun ain't got time to warm it like other places.
As for the rooms air con was brill kept it nice and cold on the hottest days and clammy nights.
Rooms kept clean at all times and couldn't fault them one bit.
If you have a family I would deffo recommend the water park kept the gran kids quiet for hour and me lol

In my opinion the food was fab I couldn't get enough, double brekkie every morning yum yum.

Dinner and evening meals just as good on day seven as it was day one.

As a rule I don't write reveiws but on this occasion I feel I have to to correct all the bad reveiws on this hotel. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children aged 10 and 6. The food is good and varied. The room spacious and everything you need in it. The restaurant, although busy, the staff accommodate you ( with a smile ). The Entertainment team do what they are there for to entertain you. If you do need anything see reception it is sorted in a timely manner,
In passing you get a smile and hello from the maintenance guy to the manager,

If you are put off by the bad reviews book the Hilton or the Ritz,

The only down side is it isn't right on the beach but that is not the hotels fault.

A big thank you to the Reception, mangement,HL team , and Danii,Katy,Charlotte,Jordan,Steph,Dan - keep up the hard work

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room go for one in the hundreds ( the furthest away from the pools and resturant...

We stayed at the Paradise Island Hotel over the Easter period as a large family group. Upon arrival we quickly processed and given our keys for our apartments. All members of the group were happy with the apartments as far as I am aware but I am now only going to speak for myself rather than trying to be the mouthpiece for everyone.
The apartment was a good size, larger than I was expecting. Two adults and two kids, aged 10 & 11 were going to be occupying it for a week. The kids beds in the lounge were a good size and they didn't complain about them at all. The kitchenette had a microwave, fridge, hob, some cupboards and a few basics (cups, glasses). Ample for our needs. I should state we were all inclusive. There was also a kettle.
The parents bedroom was again a good size and had a balcony and also an aircon unit - the remote for this was obtained from reception for a small returnable deposit. The beds were reasonably comfy but I like two pillows so obtained another via reception who were extremely helpful - the pillow arrived later that day. To be fair, after five days I did find the bed a little hard for my liking but you shouldn't expect perfection - that's just the way it is. It was fine and I slept well.
The lounge had a TV and also a large balcony which overlooked the main part of the hotel area. There was some noise from the club house but with the doors shut this was kept to a minimum. Most nights we stayed up late anyway so noise wasn't really an issue for us - as I said before, I slept well, as did the rest of my family.
The bathroom was a good size and more than ample for our needs. The shower wasn't brilliant but we managed to keep clean, showered ever day and did ok for us. Towels were provided and could be changed if requested. Also towels for the beach/swimming pool could be obtained from reception for a small returnable deposit. Nothing was too much trouble.

The swimming pool was great, as was the water park which kept the kids entertained throughout the week.

We booked a volcano tour through an excursion office in Playa Blanca...which was roughly half the cost opf the same tour booked through the travel rep (they have to make their money somehow, bless them). It's worth doing once in your life - truly amazing sights, a real hot live volcano and other stuff if you want the longer tour - discuss the options with the person in the shop.

All the staff at the hotel were extremely helpful, courteous and worked absolutely flat out to ensure that everyone had a great time. That includes all the dining staff and the entertainers. They really did work extremely hard. I personally thanked some as I felt I needed to, because they probably don't get enough thanks. The dining staff often tend to be invisible but were really great.

For me, the food was great. I'm not expecting home cooking. If I wanted home cooking I'd have stayed at home. I was on holiday and I wanted holiday food. There was plenty of it. An incredible range of choices. Freshly baked bread every day. Fresh fruit every meal time. Wine/beer/fizzy stuff etc - just help yourself. I was stuffed ever day and put on about three kilos by the end. I recommend the coffee with a dash of honey rum! If you don't like the food, then don't eat it - it's simple. But frankly, given the range of choice I cannot believe that there would actually be an occasion where there was nothing that you liked. You could even ask for an omelette for breakfast. There was yoghurt. There was cereal. Bacon, egg, sausage - the works. Toast. Marmalade. Just remember - it's never going to be quite the same as at home, because you're not at home. I'm fairly certain none of the members (24) of our group had any concerns over food. If you want, you can even go down the road 15 minute walk to one of the other hotels and try their food and facilities if you're all-inclusive.

In summary, we really had a great time from the moment we stepped aboard the aeroplane on our way out until we returned home to the cold & wet. It's likely that we will return to Lanzarote. I would use the same hotel again, but's it's not up to me! We had a great time, with plenty to eat, plenty to drink and plenty to do. Just don't expect perfection - life's not like that.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the centre will be quieter but will mean that you will have further to walk to the f...

Stayed at the Paradise Island hotel with husband and kids for a week over Easter. The hotel itself was clean and well maintained, the staff were friendly however the food wasn't up to much which is a shame when you've paid for All Inclusive. We ate (and enjoyed) breakfast every day but largely gave lunch and dinner a miss in favour of the restaurants in town.

Hotel was a good distance away from the main town so it was quiet but it's a hell of a walk in to town with the kids of an evening. Bear in mind if you aren't that mobile!

The biggest disappointment for us was the water park. Loads of fantastic slides but our youngest couldn't go on them as she was a couple of centimetres too small. Ok fair enough you might say rules are rules but the clincher was the fact that we couldn't use the younger (shorter kids) area of the waterpark with her as we were too tall. So it was a very disjointed experience and we were left very disappointed with this upper height limit as to be honest we wouldn't have booked here if we had known.

Rather more sensible was the approach taken by the fantastic Agua Lava waterpark down the road where staff assessed our daughter's swimming ability and gave her permission to ride on all of the good slides. We much preferred it there.

Kids club staff were great, full of energy and the mini disco was good fun. Such a shame this hotel is let down by the food and the location, not to mention the waterpark.

Dear Emma W,

Thank you very much for having chosen the HL Paradise Island and for having taken the time to share your experience on Tripadvisor.

First of all we are glad to learn that you enjoyed the mini club and appreciated our team.

However we are deeply sorry we fell below your expectations regarding the food and the water-park.

We are disappointed to learn that you rarely found something to enjoy, because with our different themed nights and the show cooking stations where fish and meat is prepared a la minute we try to offer our guets a variety of options.

Furthermore I would like to explain that the minimum height for the bigger slides in our water-park is 1m20cm, that is for safety reasons, as smaller children would be too light for the steep slides and may get injured. We are very strict with this rule as we do not want to put any child at risk at any point. However the maximum height for the children's slides is 1m40cm, so your daughter would have been able to use them without any problem.

Thank you again for your comments, which allow us to monitor and improve our service continually.

We hope to have an opportunity to serve you again and remain

With best regards,

the management

Enjoyed very much our stay in this lovely hotel. The flats were really nice and peaceful. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great variety of food, with three different restaurants to choose from next to each other. Great water park and Kid's club during the day and Kid's disco during the night. The only downfall was we went end of March , the begging of april and the water in the pool was still cold.

Stayed here 7th - 14th April and we had a fantastic time. Thankyou to Heike and her team, especially Alberto(Pablo) lobby bar, Victoria - restaurant terrace and the superb reception team.
Yes the rooms are a little dated but you hardly spend any time in them. The food was great and the pool and the water park was fantastic. Girls 15 and 13 met some lovely friends and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to return next year. Once again many thanks to Heike and her team.
