“Seventh visit to Playa Blanca but first time at the Princess”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2014

The overall holiday was very good. Most of the staff very friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff work so hard and deserve a massive thanks from the management. feedback would be no extra cutlery available or if it was not easily advertised.
Piano bar really good the pianist and sax player was excellent. Benjamin by far the best waiter should be promoted and train the newer younger staff.
Was not told before hand of building work and even though it went on all week of our holiday it did not spoil it.
Room 05 although I asked for pool view was more than happy with our room which was well cared for. Don't feel need for encouraging segregation by offering privilege. Will return

Just returned Monday 16th June from a wonderful 2 weeks stay at the H10 Lanzarote Princess.
Although they are still working on the new outside restaurant it never spoilt our stay. There was some noise but not enough to spoil your holiday for sure. This was our second visit and it has kept to its high reputation for good food, good service and very polite and friendly staff, Daniel as always ready to help and make your stay a pleasant one. The hotel has a great pool for children and adults with plenty of sun beds with lots of room to move about, not packed together like some hotels. You are only a short walk from the sea front and a 10 minute walk to shops, bars, restaurants. What we liked most that breakfast went on until 11am so you could have a lazy lay in, and dinner was served at 7pm until 10pm with plenty on tables with no need to queue early.
The staff at the show cooking counter work extremely hard as do the all the waitering staff 10/10
Thank you for an excellent holiday Princess. Please can you put your delicious cheese cake on the evening menu instead of breakfast, I know everyone will agree with this.

Room Tip: Our room was 011 on the ground floor at the rear which gets a great deal of the evening sun and also...

Checking In = 4/5
Checking in was quick, very easy and we were also provided with a complimentary drink which was much appreciated after a long flight. However, we were the only check in at the time so perhaps we were lucky.

The Room = 4/5
We were placed in room 305. The room was very nice, modern, light and comfortable. The air conditioning was a nice relief and worked well to keep the room cool and refreshing to come back to in the day. The beds were comfy and the curtains kept the room dark at night. The view from the room balcony was that of the town and mountains not of the pool. We didn't particularly see this as a disadvantage and the balcony got a nice late afternoon/evening sun. The only disadvantage was that in the morning (7am'ish) the bins were collected from the area below our balcony and this did wake us on the first few days but I think we got used to it after that. The TV also had the usual news channels that get on holiday as well as some entertaining old programs that served well to watch when just stopping in for a bit. Bathroom had both bath and shower that worked well.

The Restaurant = 4/5
There were 2 restaurants at the hotel, however, we never used the al la carte restaurant as we were only half-board and would have had to pay extra. The main restaurant was very big and we never had a problem getting a table, at breakfast or dinner, usually using the same table all week.

Breakfast had lots of choice, including juices, tea/coffee, cold meats, fruit salads as well as all the usual components of a cooked breakfast (scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, etc) and bread. It was also possible to get a cooked omelette with filling as desired. Only complaint would be that there was no spare cutlery available so if you have used your knife and fork and it has been collected you no longer have a knife to butter any bread.

Dinner also had lots of choices, with different themes used each night. Themes used while we were staying included spanish, mexican, chinese, kebab, etc. On all nights there was cold salad, fish, meats, veg, potatoes, pasta and rice. The food was overall good, but sometimes the meat cooked by the chefs was cooked in advance and then left to cool, thus went dry. This usually happened when the restaurant was quieter. When busy, the meat/fish was cooked to order and thus hotter and less dry. There was also a range of dessert choices available, with small taster style desserts as well as cake slices and a range of ice cream.

We also never had a problem of waiters clearing our table, if anything it helped us pace our dinner. Dinner was served 7-10 which was later than we would ideally have chosen but wasnt a problem.

The Pool Area = 3/5
There were a lot of sunbeds and we never had a problem, despite the usual people who reserve sunbeds despite the requested not to. The umbrellas were screwed down so they could not be moved so if you wanted one you had to take a bed by one, but again we didnt have a problem with this. The main problem we had with the pool area was the pool itself, which was probably our biggest complaint of the entire holiday; the pool was bitterly cold. We both like to swim and expected the pool to cool you down when feeling hot but it was uncomfortably cold and thus we didnt really use it.

Bars/Entertainment = 4/5
We didnt really use the bars very much or watch the entertainment but there were 2 bars, and the entertainment was provided every night and advertised in advance so you could decide if wanted to attend. The atmosphere in the piano bar was very nice and both bars had a good choice of drinks.

Other hotel facilities = 4/5
The list of other facilities that we used included minigolf, pool tables, mikes coffee bar and a gym. The minigolf was reasonably priced (1.5 euros per club) and helped kill some time, the pool tables were also good for same purpose. Mikes coffee bar was also well priced and had a good selection of drinks and (very) large slices of different cakes. Only complaint here was that the drink we ordered was not what we received, we did correct her once but second time we didnt want to and what we received was not much different and also very nice. The gym wasnt great but as a simple accompaniment to the hotel had everything you would need to get a workout if that what wanted. Air conditioning would be appreciated though as it was very humid.

Location = 5/5
The hotel was ideally located in our opinion, with a supermarket across the street from the rear exit of the hotel (along with a large selection of British pubs if that what you wanted). Just behind this centre, about 3 mins from hotel was the main beach which was a decent size and very clean. The promenade was also located here and provided a good walkway to go left to the marina (about 20 mins quick walk, or a more leisurely stroll of about 40 minutes) which hosted a market on the Wed/Saturday as well as having another shopping centre and good views. Walking right on the prom from the hotel took you into the town of Playa Blanca which also had lots of shop, another beach and was only about 15 minutes walk. Having stayed at Natura Palace many years ago with parents, the location of this hotel was much preferred as the Natura was a long way out on its own.

Holiday Provider and Excursions = 4/5
We went with Thomsons/Sky Tours who provided a good holiday service, with a bus taking us from the airport to hotel and vice versa. The flights themselves we a slight disappointment as for a 4 hour flight we would have liked a film/tv being shown to pass the time and this was the first time going to canary islands have not received this. We booked an excursion with Thomsons called Lanzarote Uncovered which took in the entire island and was very good at doing so and the guide very good. It was a long day though and was quite expensive (62 euros each).

Holiday Overall = 4/5
Overall we really enjoyed this holiday and would recommend the hotel, resort or island to others in future. We also got a good deal with the price due to a deal with Thomsons for when we booked it as well as ability to go out of peak season/school holidays.

I stayed here for a night in May 2013. I used to be a holiday rep in Playa Blanca, and was here for a reunion. The hotel had recently been refurbished to a high standard. The pool area was lovely, and the hotel is perfectly situated near to the beach and rubicon marina. The food was not amazing, but this did not impact our enjoyment. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others, and would be happy to stay there again.

Returned 3 days ago from a weeks all inclusive stay. Did we have a nice holiday...mmm.yes and no..... rooms we requested to be next to each other having 2 teenage children with us were half a corridor apart..we complained but the hotel couldn't/wouldn't move them next to us till halfway into our stay..... ants in our 3rd floor room..twice in different parts of the room..staff got rid of them within the day each time.....building work..we were warned before we went there were 'minor' works going on...not so....woken on our first morning (despite being told we would be placed as far away as possible from the works having emailed ahead) by disc cutters and masonry drills at 8am.. not what you want to be woken to on holiday. This went on till about 1pm and then general building works ie cement mixer, hammering etc went on till about 7pm. We filled in a complaint form with our rep on the first day and was assured there would be no further noise..there was all week but in all honesty we learned to mostly tune it out. Most of the staff are lovely and greet you. The restaurant staff all barr one work incredibly hard and smile when you speak to them. There is an amazing choice of food and we always managed to find a table and thoroughly enjoyed mealtimes. All six of us apart from one issue with undercooked chicken loved the wide range especially breakfast. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and the housemaids were all friendly and respectful. We had a lovely view of the pool on the 3rd floor higher rooms seem nicer. There is noise from other rooms the walls are quite thin but we had no trouble sleeping at night the beds being very comfy. We weren't impressed with the bathroom doors in our rooms being frosted glass and unlockable. The pool was lovely there were always staff around cleaning and checking the water. The entertainment staff around the pool especially Deda and Daniella were great really brightened up our days. The temporary poolside food bar can only be described as a burger van complete with fumes if the wind blows the wrong way but the food was great from there and the choice and service was fine with pleasant staff. Our biggest gripe was the one staff member who stands at the restaurant entrance every night... Very rude and unpleasant lady speaks to people like they are children with no respect.. We complained to management but she was still on the door the very same evening.. On the whole we had an enjoyable holiday and the assistant manager did try and sort out the issues we had and for that we thank him..Entertainment wasn't great and could be improved upon although the cocktails were amazing... Would we return..No we wouldn't ...entertainment being the main problem definitely more suited to the older generation which made up at least two thirds of the guests. I would put this hotel at a 3+*.

Room Tip: Higher rooms with pool view are best.

My husband and I have recently returned from a very enjoyable holiday at H10 Lanzarote Princess. This was our fourth visit but our first time in the summer months as on previous occasions we have stayed over the Christmas period.

On our last visit the hotel was in the early stages of refurbishment and I can honestly say that I was not disappointed with the completed renovations. The hotel now has a very chic modern feel.
All the staff were welcoming, pleasant and very helpful, and it was good to see Daniel again with his infectious smile ensuring that we were enjoying our stay.

We had a room on the third floor overlooking the pool which was spacious with a comfy bed, modern bathroom, ample storage space and cleaned every day. From our balcony it was good to see the pool being cleaned first thing each morning but we also witnessed the towels being used to reserve sunbeds before breakfast, obviously notices from the management being ignored. We had been warned by our travel agent that building work was in progress but it was not too noisy and not at all disruptive.

There were lots of choices at meal times, I consider myself a fussy eater but always found plenty to appease my appetite. The refurbished Piano Bar was an ideal place to enjoy coffee and relax after dinner on the lovely big settees and armchairs.

The hotel is in an ideal position, a few minutes to the beautiful sandy beach or a short walk to the Marina or in the opposite direction to the harbour with plenty of shops and restaurants en route.

If I have one little gripe it's the fact that gentlemen were allowed in the restaurant for evening dinner in shorts which in my opinion lowers the standards. In certain hotels they would have been refused entry.

However, we had a brilliant holiday and would certainly recommend the Lanzarote Princess and can't wait to go back again in the future.

Room Tip: Pay a little bit more for a room overlooking the pool with sea view and afternoon sun.

I would just like to say that this Hotel was very clean. The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. My Niece is a Celiac and the Chef Axle catered for her extremely well also Daniel was an inspiration as he was always so very attentive and nothing was ever too much. We were in a room that was not one of the newly refurbished but must say that it was very clean. I would definitely recommend this Hotel. The Hotel is near all amenities.
