“Very good hotel in great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

Just returned from 9 days all inclusive at the Lanzarote Princess. Hotel was great and would definitely return

ROOM - we had a suite on the top floor. E mailed couple of weeks before arrival to request top floor pool view and was allocated exactly what we asked for. Lovely modern room. Excellent air con. 2 proper beds put in lounge area for my sons. Very comfortable and quiet. We all slept really well.

CHECK IN - friendly and helpful staff. Greeted with a glass of champagne on arrival. We were there before time rooms due to be ready so cases taken away for storage and they suggested we go for lunch. Room ready for us when we were done.

FOOD - plenty of choice in restaurant always lots of fresh salad or meat and pasta cooked fresh. Various theme nights through the week. My son particularly liked the chocolate fountains and sweets that came out every few nights. New fresh bakery area with all types of bread and pizza. New outdoor eating terrace just opened. Not quite as hectic as in main restaurant and we choose to eat here for all meals. Pool side restaurant also but pigeons in here a lot. Think if they can't be kept out might be better not to serve food here.

POOL - you can borrow H10 towels for a 15 E deposit and change daily so always have fresh towels. Pool did have some yellow film floating on it as stated in other reviews sure it must be sun cream and the life guard regularly scooped this and any leaves out of the pool which was regularly cleaned. My 9 year old loved the pirate ship slides. Spent a lot of time in this pool with his new holiday friends and loved being able to order slush drinks and kids cocktails at the pool bar with his AI wristband.

OTHER - all inclusive here very good. Branded spirits included, local beers, most drinks in mikes coffee and all freshly mixed cocktails too! WIFI available in reception. Bit temperamental but would be better if coverage around hotel improved.

All had a great holiday here and sure we will be back. Few other families we met here had the same opinion too so sure any poor reviews are either really fussy or just had a bit of bad luck! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Room Tip: Top floor pool view suite

We stayed here from the 1/8/13 for eleven nights.i can't believe what some people say about the pool.i can guarantee we were not swimming in any type of film in the pool.the food in the resteraunt was good .you can get freshly cooked food in front of you if you wish, don't think that was cold.the hotel has spent a lot of money on a refurb since our last visit 2yrs ago.mikes coffee shop wher almost all the drinks are include and the Sakura resteraunt are excellent additions to the hotel.just hope they keep them available to all inclusive in the future.we had a great visit again and will defo be going back again.rooms are modern, clean and well appointed .worth every penny we spent on this visit.went as a family with friends who are still there for another week,go on treat yourself, go to the princess.

Hotel location was good, mid way between the two ends of Playa Blanca and a short stroll to the beach. Playa Blanca is a really nice resort. Hotel is located opposite probably the tattiest bar complex in the resort but once you walk beyond these it all gets nicer and only a short stroll on the promenade to shops/bars in either direction. We took the ferry to Fuerteventura which was a nice day out.
We holidayed in early June when the weather was not that good, cloudy and not much sun at all so the constant wind made it rather cold. We did notice that within the hotel grounds the wind was stronger then when we went onto the beach or into town, I think as hotel on slight hill that it is therefore less sheltered.
Public hotel areas very nice indeed, very welcoming reception staff on arrival. The staff in general were great, very friendly and efficient. Nice lobby and "library" area. Bar also nice to sit in as was the coffee shop.
Pool area nicely laid out and in late May plenty of sunbeds available.
The gym was pretty dreadful, very small and 2 out of 4 machines did not work.
The hotel room was tired and generally shabbier than I expected from a 4* of this price, furniture chipped and side laminates missing, bathroom not that clean and black scum around sink tiles that I ended up cleaning off myself. As another reviewer said the walls are paper thin and you get a lot of surrounding noise which can be a problem. I know there were higher quality rooms available but I did expect a standard room to be better quality that this.
The food is edible, but by the end of our week of half board we went down to dinner on two evenings looked at what was on offer and went out to eat instead as absolutely nothing looked that appealing. The best thing about the food is the fresh baked bread. This is also a very large hotel and you certainly see the impact of this at meal times when it was incredibly busy and noisy and generally an unenjoyable experience.
We ate at the outside cafe bar once, again this was OK, but if you happen to end up sitting facing the toilet block expect the delights of seeing men who cannot be bothered to close the door using the urinal!
So in summary, we;d go back to Playa Blanca but not to this hotel.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms could end up with zero outlook other than side of internal buildings so go for 1s...

The food in this hotel was just awful. We stayed for 14 nights all inclusive and we went down to the canteen every night but once we seen what was on offer we chose to eat out for 10 nights of the 14. The other nights when we did eat in the hotel, the food was cold and very poor to say the least. We ended up spending £1000 over the 2 weeks just on food and drink elsewhere.
The food in this hotel is by far the worst i've seen or tasted in any hotel and i'd never stay here again. Also the pool was dirty for most of our holiday with a yellow film floating on top of the water around the edges which looked very much like sick. This went away towards the end of the holiday as someone must have complained as they started cleaning the pool constantly (we didn't see anyone clean it for over a week though). Our air con was also spitting water out everywhere which made the floor slippery, but not only the that the roof was covered in green mould. We complained about it and sure enough when we came back to the room later that day we had a note to say all had been fixed. We turned the aircon back on and it was still spitting out water, all they had done is paint over the mould as the paint was still wet when we checked. The mould came back within a day or so. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Stay away.

I could not fault this hotel at all. Staff, food and all inclusive drinks were fantastic. Do shop around for a good price though as our holiday varied from £1200 up to £2600 for exactly the same just with different companies.

Not a bad hotel by any means, accomodation was comfortable - staying a suite is the best option for a family, the apartments are more modern and the air con is more effective. All inclusive is very good value, especially when you consider it includes pretty much all alcohol. Facilities were okay, kids pool has a pirate ship which keeps them entertained. Adults pool is spacious, although could be deeper. Wi-fi available but only in the foyer. Despite this, the hotel does was it's supposed to do - entertainment is good enough to keep you busy and the rooms allow for a comfortable night's sleep also.
