We booked a suite at the Lanzarote Princess and at first were delighted as it was a huge corner suite on the upper floor with a beautiful balcony. However, from around midnight a disco opposite the hotel and adjacent to the beach opened its doors, attracting local youths by the hundred, this went on until 5am the music boomed and then once it stopped the youths zoomed off in their cars with horns blaring and shouting. I complained to the management of the hotel and asked for a swop of rooms but was told that it was full and there was nothing they could do.
So avoid any hotels at all in this vicinity!

Having read the reviews my wife and I decided to travel with an open mind especially as we had obtained such a cheap deal. Our room 1107 was adequate with what looked like a refurbished bathroom but stank of cigarette smoke and we had to pay extra for a minibar which was stuck in a corner of the room.
The hotel is looking tired but the pool area is ok and the location of the hotel is very good. Most of the guests were elderly and seemed to compete as to who had visited the hotel the most often (cant think why) as it was distinctly average with very poor evening entertainment.
The food was very average catering to the british palate and the most annoying fact was that although dinner was until 930pm many main courses were removed at 830! especially meat dishes.
All in all only go to this hotel if you get a very cheap deal, it is adequate but no more and having stayed at the Natura Palace if you can pay the extra, do so

Great holiday.

Worried about the room from reading previous reviews so I emailed them the day before asking for a renovated room. When we arrived late at night with two little kids we were told that not only would we be given a renovated room but we'd get a corner sutie. This was excellent. I would have been happy to pay a bit extra if they'd asked but they didn't.

The food was good quality and varied. With the exception of the boiled eggs which were regularly completely raw.

Loacation was good for all resort facilities.

Not many kds mainly older generation. So possibly a bit boring for people with kids older than toddlers.

Shows every night, lovely swimming pool, soft play area and kids clubs.

Large hotel.

Lift didn't work properly for duration of stay but there was only 2 floors to this hotel so problem wasn't dire.

Weather was lovely... it only seemed to rain late at night.

my friend and i are here at the moment on a 4 day break, great hotel, staff and food good, clean hotel and great bars and restaurants nearby. The only disadvantage we have is that all the guests are aged between 60 and 80!!! there are a few families here with very young kids but 95% are older, we turned up and thought we had walked into a nursing home, so all people aged under 45 BEWARE.!!!!

We came back from our annual 11 night stay at the Princess, we have been going there for 7 years now. We really love it, its like going to our second home as soon as we get in the car at the airport we drive down to the hotel and just want to be there forever. The hotel food is always excellent, breakfast is a simple or as big as you like from toast to omellette to continental to bucks fizz! Evening meals are always substantial from traditional english to lobster, paella and different kinds of meat and fish you would never try at home.

The beach is wonderful white sand and is just at the back of the hotel. Plenty of watersports for those enthusiasts or a nice little bar called Mollys which my son and husband love because they can get away from me for a while and catch up with how Arsenal are getting on and the jacket spuds are amazing and only 5E or go the the pizza grill below Mollys which does an amazing lasagne and the biggest salad
which two can easily share of just 10E.

The hotel staff and bar staff are always helpful and friendly. Dont forget happy hour between 5 and 6pm!!

Do venture out at night down to the Marina Rubicon or to the town of Playa Blanca where you can enjoy real spanish food. In the new marina there are lovely restaurants built over the harbour and to watch the sun set with a glass of sangria listening to the water is just amazing! Or maybe a moon light stroll along the beach the temperature there in October was mid 30s every day and still so warm in the evening.

The only issue which I feel needs to be addressed is that some of the rooms on the higher floors need updating - so to be sure of a really nice room - especially if you have young children is to get the rooms on the ground floor - we were given a family room which was huge and right next to the play park - we didn't have young children but for some one who did it would have been ideal - those rooms were 1066 - 1096!!

We have already booked for next year - as well as all the people we see every year - we even meet up in England!!!

Have just come back from a week at the Lanzarote Princess. Having read some reviews was a little concerned, but needn't have been!

We had a lovely room on the second floor overlooking the front of the hotel and above the entertainment room, which we had no problem with. The room was nicely decorated and cleaned daily.

The food was first class, the usual breakfast, ie choice of continental cheeses, hams etc, or full english breakfast, freshly baked bread, freshly cooked omlette with your own choice of filling, fruit juices, tea, coffee etc. The evening meals were also excellent, good choice of salads, soup, fish, meat, pasta, vegetables etc, and each night there were the 'specials', ie seafood, spanish, mexican, chinese etc, all of which were superb.

All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The only downside was the usual, '
towels on the beds before sunrise' senario, which was annoying.

Will certainly go back again and would advise anyone thinking about going, do not be put off by any other reviews you may read.

This hotel was in my opinion a 3 star and not a 4 star as advertised. It is a nice hotel, very clean with really lovely freeform pools and plenty of sunloungers and space to sunbathe, so relaxing around the pool was a pleasant experience. My husband and I travelled here with our 3 year old son and discovered that it is really more suited to older couples and retired couples etc. The hotel at one point in time would have been quite grand but is starting to date in a lot of areas but I think they are trying to update it. We were allocated a third floor room but it was so dark and old-fashioned, that we found it to be quite depressing so we made our way to reception and requested that we could be moved to a refurbished room. We were aware that some of the rooms are refurbished but most are not. After a while pleading with the German receptionist (you would have thought we were asking for her first born), she caved in and gave us a lower floor pool view room. The refurb room was really lovely, bright, airy and spacious and trust me, it made a difference to our holiday just to come back and relax in brighter surroundings. So I would advise anyone to stand their ground and insist on a refurb room, hopefully you will not have to work as hard as we did. We found the food in the hotel quite good and enjoyed the theme nights. The desserts in particular were lovely with plenty of choice. The only thing that bothered me was that I felt very on edge in the restaurant as many of the older people were giving us daggers because our three year old kept getting up from our table and having a little run around our table then sitting back down. Anyone with a hyper 3 year old will know that this can be stressful. Aside from the fact that the food is quite good in the restaurant they really need to refurbish this too as it is dated, a bit dull and very smokey. They really need new air-conditioning in it. Try the cocktail bar in the hotel it is very nice quite like a cocktail bar on a cruise ship, and from what I heard the cocktails were good. The resort of Playa Blanca is a quiet yet very clean resort but the truth is there was very little to do, even for two parents who dont drink with a three year old child !! We found it quite boring in fact and we found the lay-out of the resort a bit strange. There was very little to keep a three yr old child entertained, and were not very impressed with the restaurants, there just didnt seem to be much variety and everything was just a bit bland and boring. The beach was very nice , sandy, clean and lovely shallow clear water for kids to play in but all in all we found the resort very boring, with little to do and a hotel which is more suited to older aged couples than families.
