“Fantastic family break”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

Just returned from a wonderful half term break with the hubby and kids. The hotel was fantastic. Loved the room - very spacious.

First time we have gone all inclusive - not disappointed - the range of food was great and was good for the kids to try different foods from other cultures. We are veggie too so was worried about being enough choice, but there was plenty! It could have been a bit better labelled at times but good on the whole.

The staff were brilliant, reception was slow at check in times, but I couldn't fault the restaurant staff at all - plates cleared away as soon as you'd finished and very pleasant.

Had a problem with the free Wi-Fi - could only get it on my phone on the first day, then no signal for the rest of the holiday.

The entertainment team worked really hard and long hours. Sometimes the activities were not well advertised, but by the same token it wasn't in your face either so fine for us.

Would love to visit again soon - happy memories!

Room Tip: We had a room in E block which was really quiet and away from the entertainment - great sleeps!

Stayed here from 21st to 28th of October and was not impressed!! Weather was lovely with just an odd shower of rain and first impressions when waiting to check in was very good however things soon changed!!
Although food was ok with plenty of choice we tried to book the Mexican restaurant for our last night the 27th which we had to book 24hrs in advance to be told it was closed that night - this was not mentioned anywhere not even on the sheet that we were given to us on arrival with all the restaurants opening times etc so was very unamused especially because it was our last night and did not feel reception staff member Diana was very friendly or helpful with her customer service when telling us this it was basically that it was closed and that night the 26th was full so tough luck was the impression I got!!
Daily maid service consists of the bed being made and exchanging of towels if required and think bed linen may have been changed once. Our bathroom was not cleaned once the whole week and as there were 3 adults showering twice a day u can imagine the residue of sun tan lotions n after suns that were left to build up in the bath and the floors were not sweeped or mopped the whole week either even the corridor leading to our room was not touched as a dead cockroach lay in it the full week. Also the maids left our balcony door unlocked twice and being on the bottom floor for anyone to access over the balcony i found a disgrace. We were also left with no toilet roll one day as they were not topped up the previous day and the maids didnt appear until 4pm that day.
The pool area had broken tiles both inside and around the pools. The hotel was advertised as having one adult pool however there were children in every pool at all times which nothing was ever done about. The pool area was only hosed with cold water - surely there should be some sort of disinfectant used in these areas??? Never smelt a fresh clean smell once the whole week anywhere. Also the sun loungers were very worn with a lot of them broken which u did not know about until u sat on them and there were dirty looking small tables dotted all round the pool. Our room in H block was also very dated with a box tv with about 2 english channels one of which was cartoons and the other was world news so wasnt impressed with the tv that was advertised as Satelite!!
The air conditioning was hopeless not cool at all even at the coolest setting and the mini fridge couldnt even be called a drink cooler as it done nothing in my opinion to our drinks except keep them out the heat of the room.
No airing facility in balcony to hang bikini's on either to dry off once they had been rinsed through at night which I found very unusual and annoying.
Lastly the entertainment was rubbish - again pretty disappointing for a 4* i have honestly stayed in better 3* hotels before.
Don't usually write reviews however I felt this experience had to be shared as I was that disapoointed and I can safely say I will not be back at a Sandos Hotel again especially not this one!!

We returned from our 5th, stay with our Grandson & linked up with Son & other Grandchildren. All had a great week which went too fast.
We had a lovely welcomming bottle of Chamagne waiting for us in fridge with a nice welcome letter.
Food excellent as normal, very varied and tastey. We found The Oriental Resteurant better than ever before, and a great atmophere.
We hope to return in 2014.

Room Tip: Rooms on G & H blocks have sea and pool views, great for sun sets.

Returned yesterday (3/11/13) from a fantastic stay at this hotel. I went with my sister, mum and dad, who uses a wheelchair and has difficulty walking.
The hotel was great for wheelchairs, with plenty of lifts and no steps. My parents weren't given a disabled room, however there was enough room to get a wheelchair around. They did view a couple of accessible rooms but they weren't much good - no hand rails over the shower and slightly smaller than the standard room, but my dad managed fine.
The food was great - lots of options, available all day and night.
Although fully booked, the hotel wasn't busy and crowded, no need to reserve sunbeds like you have to in some places as there was plenty all day. Very clean at all times, friendly staff who ensured everything was perfect.
Rooms were spacious and the beds were big and comfortable. The cleaners did a great job everyday.
Weather was great all week, started raining on the Sunday when we were leaving but was still warm.
We didn't feel the need to leave the hotel much because we enjoyed it there so much. We went to the market down in Marina Rubicon one morning which was a lovely, 20 minute walk from the hotel. Bit busy but got some great things down there. Also visited Playa Blanca town on another day which was nice and only a 4 Euro taxi ride. We also experienced an evening out at the Music Hall Tavern's Diva Show, which was very entertaining and a good night out. Didn't visit the spa apart from collecting some towels, and we didn't really experience the evening entertainment but from what I saw passing by, the kids were loving it.
All in all a fantastic, relaxing, stress free holiday, suitable for anyone. Me and my family would definitely return.

In the last 8 years I have visited this hotel seven times. I cannot stress how good this hotel is ,I love it.
Firstly it'll take you approx. 45 minutes to get there from the airport. This time should be less if you drive yourself or go by taxi. If you go on a bus with a travel company this is usually the last drop off stop.
The staff are friendly and helpful, the only time they let themselves down is when queuing for reception, sometimes they deal with Spanish guests first, but this is mainly because the Spanish aren't the best at queuing!
The hotel grounds are kept very well, with staff cleaning the pool areas at the end of the day and again at the start of the day. There are three main pools, we always went by the 'adult only' pool, although in all my visits children have always used this pool, and staff do not enforce this adult only rule. The pools are great although only one is heated. The pool bar serves a great selection of drinks, and also you can get peanuts, olives and ice cream from them too. The pool restaurant is good too. Serving both hot and cold drinks, then there's a cabinet of sandwiches, cakes, yogurts. Then there's the hot selection serving fresh pizza, chips, the usual. Also remember there are fresh pancakes made everyday in there at 4pm!
There are multiple bars around the hotel, all with friendly staff.
Breakfast has everything you could want. From cava, fresh juices, tea, coffee. Then the traditional English fry-up, a huge selection of fruit, fresh breads, cereals, yogurt, pastries!
Generally for lunch and tea you have a similar set up, there's LOADS of salads, then various hot meals, so many vegetables then there's the live cooking section where the chefs cook up a variety of meat and fish and then every night there is a rice dish. Then you have a good selection of puddings, fruit and even cheese and crackers. I must say everyone should try the adjoining Italian restaurant which serves fresh pizza but most of all, fresh pasta. You choose which sauce what what kinda of pasta and the chefs cook It up for you, delicious!! There is also a Chinese restaurant which you must book for, this has improved over the years but I would only go once.
A new part of the hotel was open when we went this April which is that the pool restaurant changes into a Mexican in the evening. Booking is advisable on the first night as it gets very full very quick. We were originally told it was full when we wanted to go, but reception took our room number incase of any cancellations. Later that day when we returned to our room we had a letter saying they had managed to fit us in.
The rooms are great and spacious. They are kept very clean and I cannot fault them. Over my many stays I have stayed in every area of the hotel. There are three options, sea view, pool view(which I would recommend as you can also see the sea) and the view out the back on the barren land.
We always go out the back of the hotel and walk around the coast to the marina on a Wednesday and Sunday as there is a market on these days and its great. The walk takes about 20-30 mins and is generally all flat. The hotel also offers a free shuttle bus into the town but we have never used it.
The entertainment in the evenings can be great, especially the magic nights. Apart from that we usually went to the Green Bar which is adults only and is great.
The only thing I would ask is if the hotel could change their cocktail menu as its getting very samey but I guess that's because of how many times I have been there!!
I cannot stress how good this hotel is,and after visiting another 4star hotel in Costa Teguise (also this year), I could really tell how much superior this hotel is.
I really hope I get to go back again next year

Just returned from this hotel after a great half term break.
We went Royal Elite & we definitely felt it was worth the extra for the good breakfast room and especially for the lounge with premium drinks.
Meals - what you expect from this sort of all inclusive. The food was good quality, hot and always plenty to choose from. Only downside is the large, busy restaurant but it didn't bother us much. Really enjoyed the Mexican and Oriental - book early though!!
Pools, hotel etc - very clean and well maintained.
Best bit is being so close to the sea. It's great to sit on your balcony or open the doors in the morning and look straight out at the sea with views of Fuerteventura.
We shall definitely be going back !!

We stayed here in January 2013. First impressions were not good, check in took ages, although there were only 2 groups in front of us at the desk. Finally checked in, given our room key, and directed in the general direction of our room, had to tote our own luggage!!! Where was the bellboy? Not what we are used to.

The room was ok when we eventually found it, nice sea view, but as we had upgraded to 'privilege', we were expecting that. Plaster was coming away from the wall on the corridor outside our room, and had fallen onto the
floor. It was still there 2 weeks later when we checked out!

We thought that the buffet restaurant resembled a canteen, and it seemed very understaffed. Tables were very close together, and it was difficult to get around, especially whilst carrying plates of food. The food was usually overcooked, and meats were very dry, vegetables overcooked, and salads dull and uninspiring. As we were 'privilege' guests, we were permitted to take breakfast in a separate dining room, which made a pleasant change from the canteen.

There were 2 a la carte restaurants at the hotel Chinese & Mexican, and we ate in both. However, these were not waiter service, which is what I would normally expect from a la carte, and the food was not great, although not so much of a 'bun fight' as the main dining room.

Drinks were branded, but only for 'privilege' guests, and could only be got from the 'privilege' bar, and you were not allowed to take them out, so if you wanted to watch the entertainment, you had to have local drinks from the other bar.

There was no private beach to the hotel. The sun beds were very tired, and the drinks tables around the pool area were filthy, and we never saw anyone cleaning them during our stay. The sunbeds too, were never cleaned, and there were broken tiles all over the sunbathing areas. Although we never sat by the main pool, where the entertainment took place, the PA system was deafening all around the other pools, and we found the noise very intrusive.

We like to keep active on holiday, and were pleased that the hotel had a fitness centre. However, facilities here were very limited, and tired and we struggled to get a good workout. Also there was no supervision in the gym, which we felt was a safety issue.

To sum up, we felt that the extra money we paid for the 'privilege' facilities at this hotel was not worth it. We do not rate this hotel as 4*, and will never return.
