Not the easiest place to find (above Burger King in Papagayo CC) but well worth it ! Enjoyed the complimentary bread & olives - even my wife enjoyed a few so they must have been good ! We were tempted by the pizzas cooked in the wood-fired oven & were rewarded with deliciously tasty toppings & perfectly cooked wafer thin bases. We also enjoyed a very good quality bottle of house red & finished the evening with a complimentary liqueur. Total 31 euros which I consider excellent value considering the high standard of food & drink.
We also had the opportunity to chat to the lovely owner Giselle (her husband Franco is the chef) & learned that they opened the restaurant last year - this led me to enquire about the 1990's Egon Ronay certificate I'd spotted on the wall - Giselle modestly informed us that they ran a very successful Italian restaurant in north London for 20 years - no wonder the food was so good !
If you read this Giselle, we had planned to pay another visit at the end of our week but unfortunately the threat of rain & the very strong winds kept us indoors ! We'll certainly return next time we're in Playa Blanca - very best wishes for the future.
