Description: A new venture from the same team that ran one of London's iconic Italian restaurants.Boasting Lanzarote's only wood-fired oven you can enjoy a variety of home-made Artisan breads, Pizzas, as well as wood-roasted meats and vegetables. We also make our own fresh pasta daily, and have a wide selection of home-made desserts. Our beautiful terrace has some of the best sea-views that Playa Blanca has to offer, and together with spectacular sunsets, and a chilled candlelit ambiance, it is simply the perfect place to relax and enjoy your evening.

Not the easiest place to find (above Burger King in Papagayo CC) but well worth it ! Enjoyed the complimentary bread & olives - even my wife enjoyed a few so they must have been good ! We were tempted by the pizzas cooked in the wood-fired oven & were rewarded with deliciously tasty toppings & perfectly cooked wafer thin bases. We also enjoyed a very good quality bottle of house red & finished the evening with a complimentary liqueur. Total 31 euros which I consider excellent value considering the high standard of food & drink.
We also had the opportunity to chat to the lovely owner Giselle (her husband Franco is the chef) & learned that they opened the restaurant last year - this led me to enquire about the 1990's Egon Ronay certificate I'd spotted on the wall - Giselle modestly informed us that they ran a very successful Italian restaurant in north London for 20 years - no wonder the food was so good !
If you read this Giselle, we had planned to pay another visit at the end of our week but unfortunately the threat of rain & the very strong winds kept us indoors ! We'll certainly return next time we're in Playa Blanca - very best wishes for the future.

Sat 9 March The weather n ot so good so not busy. Found the place to be excellent. Had the free olives, bread and tomats. Starter aubergene bake - excellent. I had steak and my wife the fillet steak dish in salad - high quality meat. Sweet of no flour choc cke and i had italian coffee. Wine was choosen for us as per what we asked for. This is the number one italian in town, perhaps no 1 over all. The owner was able to speak for a while - came out of italian in london to here - very helpful person. The place is held back because it is difficult to spot from down at the beach - sits on top of burger king -- not a problem as your view is out to sea. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE. Tell your friends and take the time to find it - you will enjoy. Good luck to Casale Franco in buillding their business.

We enjoyed this restaurant's atmosphere, service and food. The pizzas we had were very tasty. If we were to criticise anything, it's that the pizzas were rather loaded, too much topping making the base go a bit soggy. The rocket and parmesan salad was also very tasty, but again being very picky, there was more parmesan than rocket, so the side salad felt like more a main dish. Simple answer - we just didnt eat all the cheese!
Overall a very tasty meal in lovely surroundings - very satisifed on the first night of our hols

This is our first review on trip advisor. We read with interest, and entertainment, but as peoples perception and expectations of food varies so much, we tend to use local knowledge when eating out, as this gives a more balanced outlook. We have visited lanzarote for 15 years on winter breaks, visiting my parents and eaten in many many restaurants around the Island, and to be honest it is on the whole, average, and declining due to the onset of the all inclusive hotel. There are a few restaurants that come into the category as excellent and Casale Francos is one.We where attracted by the wood fired oven as we have eaten food in Italy in restaurants who cook in the same way, they where first class establishments and Francos stands shoulder to shoulder with any of those. We visited as a party of six and sat outdoors and took in the lovely view. The starter breads with olives, cherry tomatoes, olive oil, balsamic was excellent. Then on to the Pasta, linguine cooked as it should be, al dente, the mushroom risotto was sublime, creamy and full of flavour, lasagna cooked the correct way with pork and beef mince, steak on a salad with a variety of full flavoured leaves, and a selection of the brilliant sourdough pizzas, with that wood oven burnish to share between us! We ate here 3 times in total and the food was consistently excellent, as was the service. Its well priced authentic italian food. If you know anything about italian food eat here and enjoy,if you dont know anything about italian food eat here and be converted, dont expect pizza hut or pizza express, this is proper food.! Thanks to all at Francos, see you in 2014! ( flights booked!)

visited casale franco on carnival night last saturday. Great atmosphere and there were lots of dressed up carnival people. It was a warm evening and we sat outside with a wonderful view of marina rubicon. Food was excellent we had the manzo steak and one of the party has manzo pasta dish and a souffle pizza parcel. All the food was perfect and we got some nibbles of olives and breads. We had a red and a white wine snd the bill was very good value. Dont confuse this food outlet to the poorer quality italian downstairs we tried that last week and it was not to be recomended. Good experience we will go back.
