“Great food”
Reviewed January 12, 2013 via mobile

In the 10 days we spent in Playa Blanca we visited this restaurant 3 times.
The staff were very friendly and the food was lovely, the best food I had all holiday.
Reading 1 review where they said everything was frozen I have to totally disagree, the food was a better quality than any of the restaurants in town we ate in.
The only negative was when you received the bill there was no prices on it so you can't work out what you have been charged for,a very small criticism for such a lovely place, we will be back next year!

“Return visit”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Back again after a great holiday in October, first night had to include Dinner at The Port of Call, treated myself to a fillet steak, it was delicious, The chips were home made and to die for. My wife had the Duck and said it was gorgeous. Always a pleasure to visit this small friendly restaurant, with small friendly staff.

“A Merry Christmas Feast”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas lunch in the Port of Call this Christmas.
We had potato and leek soup for starters. Scrumptious.
The turkey was juicy, the gammon was ' melt in your mouth ' and the roasties and fresh veg were done to perfection. All served piping hot. A real treat.
Then the sherry trifle dessert. Yum, yum, taste that sherry.
Tea, coffee and mince pies to complete this Yuletide experience. We will definitely be going again.
Well done Julie and staff, and Happy New Year to you all.

“not what you expect”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

having read some good reviews we thought we would try this place for a meal.
the food was at best pub food, mostly frozen but hot. staff were ok'ish i suppose.
i feel after the visit that most of the reviews must be by friends or very easliy pleased regulars!
a short drive into town and you can find many more better places to eat freshly prepared foods.
i was not surprised to learn that this place is a sister to the snug and the bakery next door.
perhaps it would be better to run one good establishment rather than 3 poor to average ones.
staff definitely need to smile more imho, perhaps there is a reason for that.
