“Great Location, good sized family villa”
Reviewed January 14, 2018 for a stay in December 2017

The villa is in a great location. Quiet with 2 supermarkets within a couple of minutes walk. Plenty of local walking and easy access to the beaches.
The villa undoubtedly has a lot to offer. It is spacious and great for a family. There is plenty of roadside parking. The outdoor space is private. The choice of TV channels was better than at home! and wifi is reliable. The villa had a well equipped kitchen with no ants!... something rare in Lanzarote!! Beds were comfy.

We were however disappointed with our overall experience at Villa Ruby Lucas. We were perhaps caught up in the changeover between the old and new owners (changed hands a couple of days before our arrival with no pre-notification). We were visited by the newly appointed property services company now managing the villa, on the majority of days of our stay. They were still familiarising themselves with the villa. We arrived to find the fridge/freezer turned off (warm welcome pack and we had already purchased our weekly shop!), we had keys missing, no wifi code, kitchen door handle came off, towels were musty, downstairs shower not in use, constant tepid water etc. The pool heater and pumps had been switched on during all daylight hours and were very noisy when both working together – anything but a peaceful poolside setting!

We reported to property services who were apologetic and quick to respond. The new owners however were perhaps a little dismissive. Perhaps things will improve as the new owners and property services settle in.

“Excellent location”
Reviewed December 2, 2017 for a stay in November 2017

Booked this at short notice, and was not disappointed.
The villa is in a great location to walk to the Marina (20mins) which has a number of excellent restaurants/bars. Then a further 20mins to Playa Dorade Beach. If you walked the opposite way, it was a stroll to the other beach and a few bars/shops.
The kitchen has all the utensils needed and had the added bonus of having a number of condiments in stock (Salt/pepper/oil etc). Water/Orange/Wine in the fridge was most welcome.
The bedrooms were a good size with enough wardrobe space, with 2 good sized bathrooms upstairs with a welcome toilet downstairs.
The pool area was a good size with the sunshine coming from left to right across the day.
Even though there was only 2 of us, there was sufficient space for a family of 6.
The two shops close by (one was an Iceland !) ensured we could stock up with breakfast goods and a small bar next to one of them.
There was a number of games/books and TV to keep you entertained should you get sick of the sunshine.

“Ideal for a family holiday”
Reviewed November 7, 2017 for a stay in October 2017

We stayed a week at Villa Ruby and had a brilliant time. The location is great, within walking distance to Marina Rubicon which has many bars and restaurants, and also in a quiet road. We hired a car to get around the island but it probably isn’t a necessity if you just stay local or use local transport. The Hyper Dino supermarket, just a couple of minutes walk away, has more or less everything you need.

The kids (aged 8 and 5) loved the pool which was an ideal size for them. We had a couple of BBQs whilst there and there was plenty of space to dine inside or outside. The villa was big enough for 4 adults and 2 children.

There were a few little niggly things like the odd missing plate or cold shower now and again, but for the price and location, you could forgive these. We would certainly stay there again in the future.

Just returned from a week at Villa Ruby and it was perfect.
Communication from the owner was fantastic and made sure we had everything to assist us with are stay.

Everything you could possibly want from private pool to a short stroll to the marina to enjoy some cocktails. Would definitely return.

“Wonfulful villa, made it a great holiday!”
Reviewed March 11, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We really loved our stay in Villa Ruby, and had a fab holiday on Lanzarote. The villa is really well equipped and well maintained, and also very homely - a great place to return after a busy day exploring volcanoes or relaxing on the beach. The kids loved the pool and the outside area was a perfect sun-trap for lunch outside or evening dining. The supermarket is 2 minutes walk away and the best we found in the resort. The booking process was very easy & the owner responded swiftly and efficiently to all my questions. We highly recommend!

“Fantastic villa in a beautiful location”
Reviewed September 9, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We spent a week in Villa Ruby and were really impressed. It's very well kitted out and is much bigger than it seems in photos. The main bedroom was spacious with a big bathroom and a plenty of wardrobe space.

The whole villa has been really well decorated and was really comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to be self catered and there was a really useful welcome pack left in the fridge for us which we thought was really thoughtful.

The pool, although rather small, was fine for the two of us and was a really refreshing temperature. The whole pool area gets plenty of sun throughout the day and is in a perfect location. If anything, it could do with an umbrella to escape the heat of the day.

Villa Ruby is also in a brilliant location. The Marina Rubicon is really pretty with some lovely restaurants selling a pretty good range of food. We didn't find it too pricey and it looked a lot smarter than the nearby Playa Blanca. There are also some nice little bars for a chilled drink as the sun sets or a post meal cocktail.

There are some good beaches within walking distance although parking is free and very near the beach.

You're also close to good supermarkets and pretty shops in the marina.

We loved our stay and would definitely recommend the villa to others.

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed July 8, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Just back from a 2 week stay at Villa Ruby. As a previous guest reviewed, the photos really don't demonstrate just how lovely and spacious the Villa is. The pool was great, just the right size for my 6 and 8 year old, they played there every single day. We had several lunches out and a few evening meals down at the Marina but the BBQ was used loads too and we were grateful of the large dining tables both indoors and outside on the patio area. The Villa was well maintained by Geoff and June who came to clean the pool and provide fresh linen and towels and give the place a clean in between our stay. It's in a great, quiet location but only a short walk to the Marina which was delightful. All in all we had a wonderful stay.
