We ate at Atlantic as it featured well on TripAdvisor & other reviews on the internet and we were not disappointed. The lady who runs it (with her husband I think) was really friendly. Our food was very nice and the portions perhaps too generous! My husband had lamb chops & there were 8 decent sized ones on the plate along with chips, salad & a selection of other garnishes. I had breaded chicken (2 fillets) with all the same accompaniments. This is where we think they could save themselves some money (not to mention plating up time!) as there was far too much going on on the plate as well as huge portions of the main dish. We were very kindly given a complimentary drink each as there was a bit of a wait for our main courses - this was very kind but the wait was not long (have had MUCH worse) & anyway, we are on holiday so no rush. We did not order desert but again, very generously we were given a selection of desserts to share - which were all extremely nice. Finally we were offered a choice of drinks for after dinner liqueurs.
The final bill was very reasonable and, as they had been so generous, we added a bit more on plus large tip.
We would recommend Atlantico, just make sure you have room for their large portions!

Wide range of food to choose from and all very nice, the choice was that good we shared three starters between the two of us.This meant my wife had eaten too much and couldn't finish the veg of her main mea,. I did warn her that if she didn't finish her green's there was no pudding, it was a lovely meal and good value. Nice wine and very good service.

If you stand with your back towards the church and look up you will see Atlantico. Access to this superb little restaurant is gained via a pathway to the left of Gravity Bar and up a short flight of concrete stairs. Upon entering the tastefully decorated restaurant you will be warmly welcomed by Nic and Laura who are extremely friendly and attentive. On a warm evening dine outside on the small terrace and enjoy the beautiful sunset over Playa Blanca. There is an extensive menu to choose from and all food is freshly prepared and of excellent quality. We have eaten here on numerous occasions when visiting the island and can highly recommend the steak which is cooked to your liking, cuts like butter, is juicy, tender and very tasty. Not only is it the best steak in Playa Blanca but it's better than any steak we've ever had from any of the major UK Steakhouses! We have tried the fillet steak and the peppered steak and both have been amazing. Another superb dish is their speciality Black Pork, delicious! They also serve a wide variety of fresh fish and shellfish dishes which are just as beautifully prepared and tasty as the meat dishes. Try one of the Portuguese wines. We loved the 'Green Rose' which is a fruity, refreshing, easy drinking young wine. Another thing we love about Atlantico is that Nic and Laura never rush you, it's a very relaxing dining experience. We would recommend booking a table during busy times as this is a very popular restaurant for both tourists and local residents.

If you're looking for great quality food in a friendly welcoming atmosphere then give Atlantico a try, you won't be disappointed.

We stumbled upon this restaurant towards the end of our stay, and agreed that it was the best we experienced all holiday. As it was at the end of our stay, we only went twice, but on each occasion the food was impressive, with great attention given to the quality and presentation. Everything is cooked from scratch - no heating anything up. Amongst a decent menu choice, they do delicious steaks (including 'on the stone'), piri-piri chicken, and my favourite, the mixed meat kebab (be hungry - you get a lot). Fresh fish and seafood is also featured. Although each dish comes with a selection of vegetables, you can mix and match what you want, and there are extra sauces available too. If you like sangria, try the tropical version.

The couple who run it have been in the restaurant trade for many years, and it shows. The interior of the restaurant is more typically a bistro rather than the usual mass produced holiday venue, and there is also an outside balcony for those wishing to dine on warm evenings.

The one problem is where it is. The Trip Advisor map is incorrect as the location shown is in the Rubicon, and although the owners have tried to get it rectified, it still stubbornly shows as being there. It is actually in Playa Blanca, in Aveida Papagayo A, opposite a little church and on the first floor above the Cabrera Medina car rental office:
