“Great location, terrible food”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

We trawled trip advisor to choose a restaurant here after several good meals at restaurants in Playa Blanca. This was by far the worst meal of our holiday. We had several tapas, all very poor but the worst of all were the salads. We had standard fare, patatas bravas, squid, salad. All were below average.

“Lovely tapas in a lovely location”
Reviewed September 22, 2012 via mobile

Been previously and wasn't impressed as 2 of the dishes let them down.....taken us a little while but always like to give places another chance....and please we did!

the chap suggested 4 tapas dishes would be enough for two people but we decided on 5 partly as there was so many things to pick from and would rather have more and leave than not enough!

....but 4 would have been plenty, so we will know for next time. Rather than true tapas portions, they are more like a small portion.

We have patas bravas, garlic chicken(really really yummy), prawns on skewers, cheese dish, calamari.

All were beautiful.....just too much for us!

So it is now back on our list....which I'm pleased about so we can have more nights in marina....like the relatively new wine bar there called Vino Blanca....they do the best G&Ts for 5 euros....great start to a night before heading to Meson La Taberna!

“Stunning Food, Great Wine, Superb Service & Excellent Value”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

Can't really say much more than the title of my review. We dined there 3 times and it just got better and better. Great location and watch the fish at high tide in the afternoon. The people are really lovely. Do the maths of the reviews (bearing in mind there are some people Claridges would offend if serving free food!!) and just visit and do it. Sea food particularly stunning.

“Top Tapas!”
Reviewed April 22, 2012

We discovered this place and went there about 3 times for the most delicious tapas and wonderful views of the Marina Rubicon. The waiters were very attentive and kind to our children. Always busy there but not in a roudy way and the staff deal with everyone effortlessly. Wish I was back there tonight!

“Good quality, very good value”
Reviewed April 17, 2012

We are just back from Playa Blanca and hadn't been before so our first day we did the usual tourist thing, wandering about sniffing the air and seeing where was busy. the Meson La Taberna had all you would expect on the menu and had a few folk in. The staff were very friendly and efficient and before you knew it, you were sitting in the sun ( with the option of an umbrella ) with a cold beer. We ordered a range of stuff, garlic prawns, grilled squid, patatas bravas, mixed salad, a burger and a club sandwich for the boys and it was happy days.
Compared to what we had later in the week, it was very good quality and very reasonably priced.
We went back later in the week and it was a bit busier, the service wasn't as quick and they missed off one of the dishes but there was no hassle and we were on holiday so why get bothered ?
