A group of us (three adults and 2 children) stayed in Casa Strutt at the end of March. We had a wonderful stay. The house is very spacious and well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay as well as practical items for cooking / baby equipment (e.g. highchair and stair gate) / pool fun (inflatables, arm bands etc.). The two upstairs bedrooms have a balcony each with chairs etc so there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy and relax. The house is close (15 minute sea-front walk) to the Marina where there are plenty of restaurants to choose from, you can also walk to playa mujeres - a very beautiful sandy beach nearby. We did not spend a huge amount of time in Playa Blanca itself but the beach there was also lovely (though more crowded) and there were plenty of restaurants/cafes. The owner Dave was very good at replying to emails quickly and was able to advise us straight away where we would find a nearby pharmacy on our first day there. We would definitely recommend Casa Strutt to others.
This was my second stay at Casa Strutt, though the first visit for my husband and mother. We all enjoyed our stay, and David and Carol were very helpful sorting out a couple of minor problems. The weather was very hot during our stay, so the ceiling fans, and pool were much appreciated. Easy bus and taxi service in to Playa Blanca, or along to the lovely sandy beach of Playa Dorada, just outside the Princess Yaiza Hotel. There are also plenty of cheap taxis from the Marina during the day and later on at night. Taxi price ranged from 3-4 euros. There is also a very convenient supermarket just along the road, that has everything you need for a couple of weeks holiday. You can easily catch a ferry to Fuerteventura. Nice for a day out. Also the boat trip round to Papagayo is a very pleasant excursion. We enjoyed lunch at Bar One which is a bit quieter than the main Marina restaurants. Lovely to just sit and watch the boats come in and out of the harbour. This is a good part of the island to see the Timanfya National Park with the volcanoes, and El Golfo for a lovely fish lunch. We had a bit of a laugh there as we were served by a very drunk waiter. It was a bit of a Fawlty Towers moment. All in all a very relaxing holiday. We will be back in touch to book again.
