Description: The Irish Anvil in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote, is the largest Irish bar in the resort, and has so much to offer you. The Irish Anvil in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote, originally opened in June 1996, and promptly established itself as the epitome of great atmosphere, all washed down with a great pint of Guinness. Our breakfast is famous, our burgers are renowned and our cold beers are famous. We have all major live sporting events on 12 full HD TV's. In the evenings we have live entertainment every night and are the number 1 Live Music venue in Playa Blanca.

“How to lose customers”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

Having visited the Irish Anvil for a drink and enjoy the evening entertainment regularly over the last 20 years, we were astonished to witness the appalling behaviour of the "apparent" bar manager. We cannot understand why he would abuse the singer/musician to the extent that the performer would walk off stage in the middle of only his third song of the evening. Any issues should have been raised in private after the performance, and not disappoint the paying customers. We drunk up and walked out and were not alone.

“Warm welcome & free wifi right by the shore”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

Ticked all our boxes! We managed to find a prime spot in the Irish Anvil to watch the 6 Nations Rugby. Someone kindly put up a flag so we all knew which team to support. Our team won!

The local beer is reasonably priced and went down nicely in the baking hot sun. The pub grub was simple, tasty, reasonably priced and generous, not that we needed much to eat at lunchtime, so we shared one meal between two. It was plenty!

Because the welcome was so warm and the free wifi connection was so good, we ended up popping in to the bar on numerous occasions during our stay at Timanfaya Palace Hotel (where the wifi was frustratingly useless).

The location of the Anvil on the Paseo Maritimes (the attractive promenade along the shoreline of Playa Blanca) is perfect for people watching, viewing the sport or cooling off in the air conditioned bar.

Pleased to report that the loos were spiffy clean and nicely decorated.

Try it early on in your stay and you're likely to want to return. We did!

“Breakfast”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

This is predominantly a bar with food. We had breakfast here twice, don't go for the big one unless your not intending to eat for two days. It's perfectly acceptable, reasonable cost, cooked fairly well given its brekky, but if your looking for a full English or Irish then hard to beat.
There are regulars who pop in for coffee in the mornings and enjoy the view, chat.
Afternoon/evening menu typically British (fish n chips, steak pie etc) so if your into that type of meal whilst away then it's the place for you. I prefer trying local restaurants, cuisine as I can get UK food at home. The service good, one very nice waitress, young english girl with long fair hair couldn't have been more helpful. (Sorry didn't get ur name)
If you like sport, TV and plenty football again this is for you in the evenings.
It's open, airy, clean and is situated at the port on the sea front.
If your looking for British fair, culture then go here, if not then stay away.
This area is probably more geared to this type of establishment, there's a Popeyes bar next door again sport,TV,sport,TV ........
There is also a Spanish restaurant on the other side that does look not bad, tapas menu seemed ok but unfortunately didn't get a chance to try it.

“Good for coffee and wifi!”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

We only used this bar for coffee and wifi or afternoon tea with cake and wifi but were very happy to do so.
They show premier league football for those who like that sort of thing and they all speak very good English. The secure wifi is free for patrons and so it is well worth a stop along the promenade out of Playa Blanca beyond the port. Good terrace overlooking the sea. We did not have any meals here.

“Best bar and pub food”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

Have visited here countless times, and we have always had a great time. The food is basic but nothing at all wrong with it , huge portions and freshly cooked. The steak and onion baquette is my favourate at lunchtime and one plate of chips to share(3). Guinness is €4.30(if i remember) other bar on front charges €5.00!! ripoff. The staff are all very welcoming and look after you very well. Show all football/rugby games,7 screens, also horse racing and placing of bets. Free wifi is a plus aswell.See you at christmas.
