Friendly and courteous service - we were instantly recognised from our previous stay and attendance over 7 months ago - and experienced a genuine welcoming. We ate at the restaurant 12 out of the 14 days we stayed as the food is magnificent - especially the Sea food and Sea Bass in Salt. We would have eaten there the other two days but the owners do close one day a week! Lovely choice of wines - we were recommended a different bottle (or two) each day. Thoroughly good value if you prefer the finer dining experience. Can't wait to go back in November.
We hadn't yet managed to get to this relative newcomer to the Lanzarote dining scene, but as we were renting a couple of hundred yards away this trip we decided that we'd better give it a go.
On entering the restaurant, the first thing that I noticed was the wonderful smell of wild mushrooms. The second thing was the amazing aroma of grilling meat! Guaranteed to get the appetite going!
We had a lovely window table with a view of the harbour (and the ferry seemingly coming straight in through the window - that never gets old for me!). Service was a little tardy at first and whilst a dish of olives arrived straightaway, it took at least ten minutes to get some wine in front of me. Then it was probably half an hour from ordering until the appearance of our starters. This is never a good thing...
HOWEVER; the food is sensational!
I had the chef's mushrooms, which was an incredibly rich little dish of mushrooms cooked in butter with a little garlic and bacon. Yum! My husband had the special, which was a round of goat's cheese, bruleed, with an onion relish, served with enormous prawns and a red fruit sauce. I helped him out a little with the cheese, which was a gigantic piece. It went very well with the mushrooms. His starter would easily have done as a main course.
We then shared a Chateaubriand between us, which was absolutely sensational! Superb meat, cooked just as rare as we like it (very!) with a Bearnaise sauce and some veg and dauphinoise potatoes. Absolutely scrumptious!
They do a lot of dishes flambeed at the table and I am definitely going to try one of those next time. The waiter in charge was kept pretty busy at his little trolley, so it is obviously a well-known speciality of the house!
Great place - definitely one to return to.
We go to this restaurant twice a week when we are in Playa Blanca.
It's always good food with great friendly staff.
We love it so you will
We went to this restaurant after reading reviews on trip advisor. It was just as people described it. Great seafood, great service, great value Our fish was cooked to refection. Wait staff was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
