“Lovely Hotel”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

My friend and I had a weeks holiday at the Natura Palace in late April. First impression, staff at reception efficient and when we asked for a room with afternoon sun it was no problem and was offered a room that fitted our requirements. Room was quite spacious, with a good sized balcony and concealed washing line. More than adequate bathroom with a powerful shower, with hairdryer in bathroom.

We had made up our mind that we would probably eat out a few times as on other holidays we have been disappointed with the quality of food in these so called 4 star hotels, but not this hotel the food was fantastic, plenty of choice and of a very high quality.

To sum this hotel up. If you are looking for a quality hotel, with efficient friendly staff in all areas, exceptionally clean and well maintained, great food and a gorgeous location, although, a 40 minute walk to the Marina which wasn't a issue for us, but maybe for some. You cannot go wrong with this hotel. All I will say is the average age was about 70 and my friend and I are a lot younger, but this didn't deter from anything. If anything, it made for a very relaxing holiday.

I have been to Playa Blanca a few times and love the place. This was our first time at this hotel, probably because we knew it was a bit far from beaches and main town. However, I booked it after reading some of the great reviews and agree with them wholeheartedly! I emailed the hotel before our arrival and requested a sea/pool view room and we were delighted to find we had been allocated a room with great view of both (1043, west facing for evening sun).

The room was very spacious with lovely comfy large twin beds. There was a minibar which we put our own water and drinks in and they appeared not to mind. The only thing missing for us were tea/coffee making facilities. Do like to sit on the balcony when I wake up with a coffee to get me going! Very clean, maids excellent. However, I did get bitten one night by a mosquito, but that could have come in from the gardens when we left the balcony door open. Put a plug-in and had no more trouble.

Food excellent, plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner, but please could you make thicker pancakes at breakfast (my favourite!). Staff helpful and friendly.

We never had a problem finding a sunbed although if you got to the pool a bit later you may have to shift them about a bit to get two together. Not too many children about which suits us and as others have commented perhaps more suited to us more mature! (although when we were there, there did seem to be a fair few younger people, but all quiet.

We thought most of the entertainment was very good. One of the best flamencos I have ever seen.

Loved it. Will be returning!

Room Tip: Ask for a room without trees obstructing the views.

Just back followinga week here. Many visits to the island over the yearsbut 1st staying here.Amazing architecture as you enter,Helpful reception at booking in,Map of the island given(although not required) Cases taken to our room which was big ,clean with comfy beds ,extra pillows & blankets.Bottle of water on the table to rehydrate,,,,,Very hot the week were there 21-28 april.air con needed & worked ,control knob was at the side of the bed which we didn't see but a trip to reception told us where it was (& it worked).1 bed change in the week & towels changed on request.(drop them into the bath & low & behold ,nice clean ones appeared);)
food variations very good ,plenty of salad, hot meals .....all the meats were offered.assorted veggies,& the fresh fruit was to die for.....3 different melons, kiwi, oranges, apples ,bananas, pineapple both fresh & tinned.PeachesBlack & green grapes.I had the best time eating all that.there was an area also with the sticky desserts, cakes etc & ice cream.Breakfast was enormous,12 cereals ,10 types of breads/croissants,over 12 different tea flavours(i like coffee)Jams ....Proper jam not little cartons ,all sorts of flavours ,We needed to do a lot of walking to use up all the calories, which worked ,as it's a 30-40 minute stroll to the harbour,& a further 30 min from there to visit the Rubicon Marina .Not a problem for us as we are fit......Plus you go past all the bars & restaurants on the sea front as you go along.Different theme nights ran alongside usual food ,so you could choose,Enormous bar area with pianist there some nights& boy was he good.....no music ,all from memory. Also club room with things from 9pm eg "Il Divo" "Michael Jackson" tributes.....you get the idea! So to recap....we liked this place. The only gripe is it's position. so far along the the sea front from he hub of shops& eateries .If only we could have picked it up & moved it nearerto town. Not to forget the staff, they were busy ,helpful, and friendly ,a really nice lot & kept the place spotless.Oh ! i almost forgot.....take some mozzie plug ins or spray, the time we were there we got bitten(should not have left the balcony door open seeing as we were over the garden )But the garden was sprayed by the gardener carrying a tank on his back.....very efficient...We were in 1062 ,so we had a garden view & a sea view through the palm trees.

Would like to back up Roxij review. My partner and I were in room 2204, which had excellant views over gardens, and ocean.

This hotel was excellant. and ALL STAFF were some of the best, I have ever come across in hotels in Europe.

My partner is gluten free, and this is the best hotel, where she has been able to safely eat and enjoy meals.

The walks are beautiful, and the area makes for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. My partner and I like the beach, so the pool area did not bother us.

Unfortunately must agree with Roxij, the sun bed problem was a disgrace. Natura, you will have to get that sorted out.

Forget the pool, get to the beach.

Do not let the above problem put you off this excellant hotel. Looking forward to Feb 2014 already.

Room Tip: garden annexe were quiet and beautiful views

My husband and I have just returned from staying 2 weeks at the lovely relaxing Natura palace. We are both 33 and have no children and have stayed in Playa Blanca on other occasions as it is such a lovely place. We have stayed in another hotel the other side of Playa Blanca and a villa but decided to try this hotel as we had visited it before for breakfast whilst staying at the villa.

We arrived quite late on a Sunday night due to the BA flight being delayed for a few hours. The reception staff were lovely and very welcoming and offered us sandwiches, salad, fruit and water which was such a nice touch as we were both peckish.

We were shown to our room which was 2208 on the top floor in the annexe. This is a family size room and was lovely and big! This may be because we booked the hotel direct through their website and emailed them mentioning that we would like a quiet room on the top floor and yes it was very quiet in the annexe. Our room had a beautiful view directly looking at the gardens and sea.

The rooms are getting a little dated but they were comfortable and very clean. The beds were so comfy! The bathroom was huge and the shower very good and again, very clean. There is a little hairdryer in the bathroom which isn't great if you plan on drying your hair nicely... so bring your own. Whilst we were there they also removed the bulky very old fashioned TV's and replaced them all with brand new flat screens.

We stayed half board as it really was a good price on their website to do this even though we ate out 60% of the time it still worked out to be a good deal. Breakfast was amazing, the food was always being replaced to keep it fresh and the choice was fantastic. There was nothing you could want for. I especially liked the fresh omlettes. Dinner was very good too, good quality and again a great choice for everyone. The staff were always friendly and plentiful.

We liked this hotel as it isn't really a 'kid' friendly one so it is quite peaceful and the location is very good. We hired a car so have no comment on the taxis or buses.

In the evening we did go and see a couple of shows but they aren't really 'our thing'. We tried the piano bar but I actually find this hotel bar to be quite soulless as you feel like you are just sat in the lobby.. with no atmosphere. Its a shame as the building is quite magnificent that I feel the bar should be more inviting. So we tended to go to the Arena Bar opposite which was great fun.. and great Sangria... although very potent!

The pool area/gardens are beautiful and very well maintained. However we only say by the pool for 2 days out of 14. This was due to two things... we do actually prefer sitting on a beach but the biggest problem that was quite stressful is the lounger situation. Basically all the beds are taken by people putting their towels on by 9am! This is not allowed and says so in your room, yet people STILL do it and it is most unfair. We usually went down by 10:30 and we actually struggled to find a lounger because so many were taken with the towels on them. I then watched people not coming back to them until late afternoon!!! I along with another guest complained but all that was done was the reception staff saying 'we will put a note under the door for all guests'. All this note said was 'towels will be removed if they are put out before 9am'. So what does everyone do.... they go down before 9am, sit on them with a book, then 9am comes and they leave them.!! I was fuming and if I had wanted to stay by the pool I would have happily taken their towels off myself and sat where I wanted. So come on Natura.... you need to step it up and say, for example, they are only allowed to be left on the loungers a certain amount of time before they are removed. It is very unfair on the guests that aren't so sad as to put their towels out and leave them. I know this happens a lot but this was 90% of the guests doing it.

So this would be my only gripe with the hotel if you are someone who likes to sit by the pool all day. Other than that a wonderful Hotel!

Always liked this hotel, stayed three times now and can recommend. Spacious rooms with lovely balconies, lovely pool area with gardens and lots of space to sit and relax. Excellent food, particularly for us breakfast is noteworthy. Service is good, particularly reception and dining. Perhaps better suited to adults as its really a place to relax and chill out. Quite a way out from Playa Blanca Centre, but local bus goes from just up the road. Like the piano bar area in an evening, and there is a great cupboard in the reps room where you can swap books. For a relaxing holiday we think its great.

This hotel met up to, and exceeded or wildest expectations, from the moment we arrived at the reception we were treated as valued guests and the check in procedure was simple and prompt.

We had room 1139 which is on the 1st floor and over looked the pool with the sea view just to our left, the balcony faced west so we had the sun from 14:30 through to 20:00 when it set, wonderful, but I did pay a little extra when I booked, I could have taken pot luck but did not want to risk having a room with no view.

The food was excellent, a large variety to suit every ones choice, and it was in abundance, they had theme nights, Italian, Mexican, a tortilla to die for was served up with your choice of fillings, sour cream, guacamole and stir fry vegetables, so big that you could hardly fold it into a wrap to eat it... It was delicious.

All the staff were quick to serve and clear plates from your table.

The room was kept spotless by the cleaner and the bed linen was changed nearly every other day, along with bath towels.

You can hire a safe and pay a deposit of 10 euros for a pool towel which you got back at the end of the holiday, we were disappointed that we did not have tea making facilities in the room, but the shop just over the road from the hotel hired out a small kettle for 5 euros for as long as you wanted it, we bought a couple plugs from the shop also.

Sun loungers around the pool were plentiful, people tended to put towels on them from about 08:00 but in general you could always get one, its just a shame that some people are unfair by reserving sunbeds in the morning and then not using them until mid afternoon, we only heard of one incident when the hotel manager went round and asked people if anyone had been using a particular pair of beds, as they hadn't he removed the towels so that somebody else could use them.

We went on a whole day trip, Fire Mountain was a great experience and truly amazing as to how the vulcanology below your feet was still bubbling, won't go into all the detail as it will spoil the surprise if you go, we thought it was well worth the money, we went onto other places and had a midday meal included.

The hotel is situated just outside of the main town and harbour of playa blanca, but the walk along the sea front to it takes about 30 mins at a leisurely pace and is a block paved walkway with only one slight inline to climb, very easy for wheelchair users too, you can walk on further to the marina which is another 20 mins, but you can stop for drinks on the way. All in all it was an enjoyable walk even on a hot day as the wind off the sea was cool.

Whilst talking about wheel chair friendly, I noticed that the hotel even had a chair hoist into the swimming pool, something that I have not seen before, well done Natura Palace.

We were very Impressed with our stay but would not go again as we were not keen on the windy weather, we may have just been unlucky but we had more windy days than calm, one day was so bad it blew a pool side umbrella into the sea and chairs were blown over.

We met some very nice people while we were there and enjoyed some friendly chat with them.
