We stayed at the Gran Castillo in late August. We have never stayed in an all inclusive place before and so were not sure what to expect.
We stays in one of the Merlin rooms which was spacious and was kitted out nicely for the kids.
The food was brilliant with lots of choice and lots of fresh food cooked in front of you by the chefs. They also have a special starter every day and rotate the food choices daily. We also ate at the Italian which you had to book 48 hours in advance which was also really good quality.
We stayed on the standard package which was great for our needs, premium only seemed to be worth it if you are there without kids or like expensive premium spirits (The standard spirits seemed just fine to me and had a nice gin and tonic most evenings).
Some reviews on here question whether this is a 4 star or a 5 star resort, I would probably say its 4.5 star, very smart with good quality food but not quite as plush as a 5 star hotel.
We had a great time and would go backMore
