My wife and I have just returned from a week’s stay in Casa Palmera. The villa and its location was perfect. On arrival, we were met by Anne and David, there was a private parking space for ‘off road’ parking. The villa was spacious, very clean with every amenity. We used the BBQ during our stay.
We were a little concerned by the comments of a previous reviewer, but whilst we saw the occasional workman, we experienced no noise or problems from any nearby work. The house opposite looks nearly finished.
It was a short walk to the marina on a flat surface and there you will find numerous lovely bars and restaurants. Our favourite was El Mano Casa de Comidas, in the marina. The villa is ideally situated for the local market, which we would recommend.
Thank you for great holiday, your home is lovely and we look forward to returning at some stage.
The First two days (Saturday, Sunday) were great quiet, relaxing, and perfect.
To the villas left the next day (Monday) only 8 meters away a full size excavator/digger must of been at least 18 tonne rolled in next door. From 8am to 5pm for 3 days proceeded to start breaking up solid rock, there was no escaping the vibrations and noise. On and off after this for our 11 day stay the digger was working in some way.
Directly in front of the villa was a new villa being erected most days a large dump truck rolled in and out dropping of soil, cermet mixers running and above all a number of works just outside only 5 meters away.
of course to be fair our hosts have little to no control over this. They can get the police to step in if it gets to loud but building work will of course continue.
so to sum up our picture perfect villa on holiday lettings was slap bang in the middle of a building site.
the surrounding area is most likely due a lot more development as roads have been laid and plots are sitting waiting.
Of course are hosts are no obliged to inform us of any of this but still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
To and from the villa elderly, buggies/wheel chairs may have an issue as there is not 100% complete paths leading all the way to the villa. We found ourselves walking on the road for one 50 meter (approx.) section as there was no real path and some raised irons and gravel.
The walk to the marina at a steady pace was about 9 minutes so perfect if walking back with food or kids.
Within the walls of the villa (excluding the noise of course) it was perfect. the only down side is that we had to discard of a number of items in the freezer that we purchased as there was a very strong fish smell that got in to everything ice, ice-cream extra.
The air-con was fantastic. It was on a meter and stopped people from leaving it on all day and running it ragged so it worked great! 1euro on a single unit lowest temp 18c max fan lasted a whopping 6-7 hours loved it.
The pool was very clean and if it was a very sunny day it was very warm almost hot!. The first few days it was spotless but due to the wind on the island it ended up rather bitty and a fair amount of sand in it. we did our best to clean it and always kept the cover on which helps keep the heat in. The pool cleaner came on the 7-8th day and did an ok job of cleaning it but was much better but still nowhere near the same as day one.
The bbq is a must very easy to use. in 11 days we used it about 5 times.
The villa is a great size and so are all the rooms all with air con. The bathrooms were fine, nice size and clean.
Parking space within the villa was useful and the villa ground where clean and tidy.
I would recommend this to anyone but sadly our visit was tainted buy the building work which was more than a bit of drilling
We have just returned from this lovely 3 bedroom pristine villa . The kitchen is really well stocked with good quality items and is light and airy. Having a dishwasher and washing machine made it feel like home from home ! The pool was very clean and we kept the cover on when not in use as requested . The villa is in a great location and an easy walk to the marina or 20 minute walk to the centre and a couple of beaches . We hired a car from the airport and only used it for supermarket shopping or to get to our preferred beach at Playa Flamingo . The owners Anne and David were very helpful with any information we needed . My husband and I have been holidaying in Lanzarote for the past 30 years and have to say that this is the nicest accommodation we have ever stayed in .
This is a great place to stay, close to the marina and easy to find, my 3 young daughters loved having the pool to themselves, very spacious and everthing you need for cooking and BBQ also very homely comfy beds
This lovely villa has everything for a great relaxing holiday.
A fully fitted modern kitchen with Microwave,Fridge/Freezer, Kettle, electric oven etc.
Large 6 seater table in dining room, leading to spacious living area which has a very big flat screen TV. Full, simple to follow, instruction books on how to operate TV/Sat system & DVD are placed in cabinet under TV.
Anne has included some information books for how access local amenities /supermarkets/emergency numbers. As it says in the books the villa is only a 10 minute walk at most to the Marina Rubicon.
3 bedrooms, main bedroom has a safe which we thought was a great idea. All bedrooms have wardrobes and coat hangers, plenty of drawer space too.
There are 2 bath rooms, one has a shower over bath and the second has a shower cubicle. Both have a toilet and wash basins.
Very convenient to have a washing machine. Helps to keep down the amount of luggage required!
Swimming pool was great. As instructed, we left the cover on as this helps to warm the pool and keeps out the dust and dried leaves. We used the pool on the afternoons and the water was warm, even in March!
A brick built BBQ outside on the patio with dining table for 6 persons was great and easy to use.
There is a private mall driveway if you need to park a car.
If you want to go to Playa Blanca, walk along the excellent wide/paved coastal path from the Marina. This path is busy with holiday makers all day/night, well lit on an evening and takes you directly to Playa Blanca past numerous Restaurants and bars. We actually only used our hire car a couple of times, mainly for food shopping.
Anne sends full instructions how to access the villa/keys etc nearer the time of your holiday.
A very nice property and a credit to the Owner.
