“Excellent!”

We stayed at the Aqua room for 3 nights at the end of September 2012 . Although the weather was not as hot as we wished (perhaps not surpising for the time of the year!) we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Finca San Jorbo is nicely renovated old farmhouse in the middle of oil groves so it is very tranquil. It's only 5 min drive to Porreres a traditional un- touristic little village in the middle of the island with good access to Palma (30 min) and Arta in the North and all the beaches in the eastern coast. The room/studio was very clean, quiet and nicely decorated with a fully equipped kitchenette. The Owners Annie and Martin are very welcoming, giving us tips on restaurant and beaches around the area. There is library with books and magazines to borrow an honesty bar and good size swimming pool. The breakfast was superb and included among others fresh orange juice and fresh fruit salad (figs and olive oil straight from their orchard). Their 10 cats made their appearance from time to time and kept us company when they wanted but mostly they disappeared into the orchard and the groves. As they have only 4 rooms/studios you never feel like you are staying in a crowded place and it was nice to chat to the other guests over breakfast. We hope to visit again soon!

Hard to know where to start with the superlatives. There is the, for us, ideal combination of a B&B with your own apartment, including a superbly equipped kitchen. The situation, a few minutes from the interesting small town of Porreres, in the midst of Son Jorbo's own olive groves, is tranquillity personified. Four apartments, so that you get a chance while breakfasting on the pergola'ed terracce to get to know the other guests and share tips on beaches, markets, restaurants. Each apartment has its own character. We stayed in Amarillo and Azul, each delightful and furnished and equipped to the highest standard. Whenever you thought, 'I wonder if there's a ...', there was. The pool is ideal for chilling out before or after a trip. Porreres is ideally placed for the other towns of the Pla, like Sineu or Santanyi and for the beaches and ports of the south-east coast. And Palma is only 40 minutes or so away if you fancy exploring this city. Of all the factors that make Son Jorbo such a brilliant place to explore Mallorca, however, the palm must go to Annie and Martin. Their relaxed hospitality, their willingness to inform and help in any way, above all their thoughtfulness - these things just make Son Jorbo unique and account for the number of guests who return time and time again. Insh'alla, we'll be two of them.

Room Tip: Azul is light and airy but the steps up to it are very steep and not for those with knee. Amarillo i...

A year on and we couldn't resist returning to Finca son Jorbo. Different apartment this time, but just as well appointed and tastefully decorated and furnished. Once again we received a very warm welcome from Martin and Annie and as before they did everything they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We love the combination of having breakfast served every morning and having the flexibility of your own self catered apartment. The house has a calm relaxed tranquil feel and we love the pool area with its high quality loungers and plenty of shade.

Room Tip: We've tried Azul and Lila now. Both upstairs with balconies and both beautiful. Annie and Martin...

Following a fantastic previous stay we were worried that having a new arrival would prevent us staying again, but needless to say Annie & Martin came to the rescue. We booked the whole Finca and it is something i can highly recommend - so much so we booked for a return visit next year even before we'd left !!

Very wide age range from 70 to 1 but everyone had such a fabulous time, there's more than a little someting about Finca Son Jorbo for everyone and it left us all so happy and relaxed, despite us all never having being on holiday together before.

As with our first visit in 2010 everything was more than you would expect for a B&B and i am not surprised every review since my previous one has rated Son Jorbo, and Annie & Martin, just a shame tripadvisor don't creat a sixth category (perfection) because i'm sure each reviewer would agree the whole package is perfection !!!

Porreres has continued to prosper and we had two exceptionally good meals at the two local restaurants recommended in the town itself.

Only wish i had more holidays like this - cant wait to be back there next year

It is my first time in Mallorca and for sure it wont be last time, but this is also due to the fantastic days we spent at Finca San Jorbo, close to the wonderful small town of Porreres. This finca makes you feel at home, it is so quiet and peaceful and everything is well thought of. The interior design of the apartments is great and they are so spacious that you do not need anything more. Probably that Annie had a say in this respect! I also appreciate that they are all unique and not resemble one another. The old thick walls combined with the more modern design give the whole building great atmosphere.

Breakfast is very good and diverse, the fresh orange juice just the perfect way to start the day. Each morning Annie and Martin try to help you with your plans by advising where the best beaches and other spots on the island. Sometimes, they also learn from the tourists about hidden places they can further share with new tourists.

It was a very nice time we spend there and we were also lucky to experience the Sant Roc festival which took place in Porreres the week we were hosted in Finca San Jorbo.
We really enjoyed our stay at Son Jorbo and for sure i would love to stay there again and i really hope it will be in the next 1-2 years again...I would even move there:))! Pss...don't tell anyone.

Thank you Annie and Martin for a great time and i would recommend this nice little place to anyone enjoying quiet moments in rural green areas!

PS bike friendly place tooo!

Our third visit to Finca Son Jorbo and every bit as good as the first two. FSJ retains its preferred mix of discreet service (great fresh breakfasts provided and rooms meticulously cleaned daily) and independence (all the 4 spacious and comfortable apartment suites have fully equipped kitchens or use the communal barbeque).

Since our last visit [in 2010] FSJ has won a Trip Advisor award for ‘best B&B in Mallorca’. It is often much harder to maintain exemplary excellence than to simply achieve it (the only way is down after all), but the owners Annie and Martin are aware of this and have met the challenge with gusto. A maximum of only 8 guests, a child free policy, and the property’s hillside rural location makes for the perfect base for peace and relaxation and there is often near silence save for the crickets and birds. Nearby Porreres (the town’s huge central church dominating the vista and plain of Es Pla), is also much improved in terms of the quality of its cafes, restaurants and its upgraded supermarket – but don’t expect a mini-Palma; we’re talking about 3 or 4 places and the town itself retains its dusty and sleepy charm with most things firmly shut in the heat of the day. Discovering the ‘real’ Mallorca – the towns of the interior, the markets, fiestas, vineyards, hilltop monasteries and culture – and simply chilling out by the pool is what FSJ is all about. You couldn’t be further away [metaphorically speaking] from the brash resorts and can go home smugly congratulating yourself how clever you have been in your holiday choices.

Finca Son Jorbo is highly recommended if you want a peaceful haven and retreat for couples and is still outstanding value for money. However our ‘secret’ (when among the first visitors in 2005) is long out with the Finca being featured in some continental style mags as well as on Trip Advisor, so you’ll need to book early to share in high season.

Room Tip: All apartment suites are excellent and have same facilities.

We are getting overwhelmed - another lovely review! All that we can say is thank you so much for writing a review and appreciating what we do here. Finca Son Jorbo is only a small B&B with no pretentions to 'boutique' hotel status, but we do care about what we do and are pleased that our guests have a great time here.
It's always good to see guests returning, hopefully we will see you both again. Best wishes from Annie and Martin
