“One Night Stop!”
Reviewed September 20, 2011

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hostel Anibal for one night. The staff were welcoming, and room was very clean and more than I expected for the price we paid. Our main holiday was at the other side of the island and we were only visiting san an for one night - definately will use again... I have marked the sleep quality as 4 stars only because the rooms were very warm and we had not paid for air Con (our fault though!) - Many Thanks...

Us two girls stayed here in August 2011. We had read reviews prior to going and were prepared to take a risk (for the sake of £180 for the weekend , including flights). We arrived at 3am to be greeted by the infamous "grumpy night manager", we had prepared for this and greeted him with a big cuddle and he was our best friend for the duration of our stay.

The rooms were very clean and very basic. Bath, shower, sink, loo, bed, balcony. We decided to opt out of paying for air con and this was fine as the rooms didn't get too hot, but the sun was not our room all day so maybe that's why we were ok without.

To the bars it was around ten minutes on foot but with no hills to overcome this was fine for us.

By day the pool was not too busy, we could get beds and the bar snacks were ok too. As the hotel was quiet we could catch up on some well needed sleep and recharge for the rest of the day/night.

Overall I would return here. Out of ten I would rate this place a 7/10, taking into accout the value for money.

Myself and 4 friends stayed here for 3 nights. After reading some of the reviews before we arrived at 2am I was a little worried but I needn't have been. The old bloke on the desk when we arrived did seem a bit grumpy but apart from that he was good at his job. He made sure everyone entering the hostel was actually staying there and they were quiet and didn't wake any other guests. The rooms were basic but spacious, and very clean. As was the whole hotel and pool area. I don't know what some people expect for their money and if you've come to San antonio for the partying you won't be spending much time in your room anyway. I've stayed in 8 different hotels in San Antonio and would definately stay here again.

me and two friends stayed here for 5 nights and we had a great time ,we had read the reviews and were prepared for the worst ,but when we arrived we were suprised how nice it looked the man on the desk was very pleasent and told us the best beaches to visit and were to catch the bus ,the room was very clean and big with 3 beds and a balcony and large bathroom ,you do have to pay extra for air con but we didnt need it as we opened the balcony door at night which was adicate, maids cleaned every day ,the staff werent over friendly but if you treated them with respect you got it back, desipe all the feed back we didnt think it was far to walk to west end only minuets and we enjoyed the walk ,it is a bit loud with the clubbers coming back but you expect it in ibiza ,some were rude to the staff and they do put up with a lot ,we didnt try the food as we ate out so cant comment but it did smell nice, word of warning be careful of the lucky lucky women by the beach bars who try to put bracelets on your wrists and will demand payment and if you get your purse out they will take the money out we saw a few get caught out by them ..just down from the hotel there is a nice bakery that does take out coffee and pastries well worth a try plus if you like a smoke the tobac shop round the corner is cheap and sell english magazines and the spar is just down the road which is useful the swimming pool in the hotel is also very clean, for a hostal its great, basic but very clean which unless you intend to spend all week in your room its all you need. on the whole we couldnt fault it and will be back next year..if you get the chance catch the bus to calla bassa beach you wont be dissapointed ..

I suspect the people post negative reviews about Jose and the other staff have never traveled abroad before or spoken to people from a different culture? Wouldn't expect anything else from your average ill-educated arrogant Brit abroad. As far as I am concerned the man is a saint given the amount of grief he had to put up with from some horrendous, loud and cocky Brits all week. The MAJORITY of nice, semi intelligent people we spoke to staying at the hotel had great things to say about the staff. It was only groups of chavs who seemed to cause any bother. One shaven headed buffoon was overheard giving the owner a torrent of abuse because they wouldn't let him use the room to shower AFTER he had checked out. Has he ever stayed in a hotel before? Probably not.

In summation, this hotel is spotlessly clean, the food is cheap and tasty, it has a great pool, great location, great staff (if you make the effort to be nice to them) and exceptional value. The ONLY negative thing I have to say about this place is the great value and price seems to attract a few reprobates but thankfully they are usually kicked out after a night or two.

It is not 5 star luxury so all I can say is tailor your expectations to the price you have paid. I probably wouldn't take my girlfriend here for a romantic getaway but if you are over in Ibiza with friends for a good time then this place is exceptional value.

I travelled to Ibiza with my fiancee at the beginning of September 2011, for three days as we had a friends wedding to go to during our stay. We arrived at the hotel at about 2am in the morning. As many others have commented, the old man on the desk was very rude and didn't make you feel welcome at all. Like other reviewers on here we too were not impressed that we had to carry our cases up two flights of stairs to get to our room!! Once we got into our room things just got worse!! There was no TV, no fridge, the AC was not working and there was hair on the floor. The beds were rock hard and the pillows were so poor you may as well have used a jumper instead, the toilet seat was broken and the whole place reminded me of a borstal, rather than a holiday hotel.

My girlfriend actually got upset because she had booked the hotel without really researching it. And we have certainly learnt a lesson there!! We made a decision to spend just the one night there rather than the three that we had booked and then in the morning we would go and find another place to stay. That night we were woken by the groups of girls and lads that had hit the strip, but to be honest that didn't bother us too much, because I have been on lads holidays abroad and that is what happens. But even on those lads holidays, which are always cheap and cheerful, I don't think I have stayed in a hotel as bad as this one.

The next morning after breakfast (we eat breakfast in a cafe up the road, so can't comment on the food) we used the hotels internet facility (2 Euros for 30mins) to book another hotel. We confirmed on the phone and that was that.

We then checked out and I have to say that the younger guy who did check us out was much nicer and did get us a cab in minutes, which was nice because we just wanted to get out of there.

In conclusion, this hotel maybe ok if you are on a mad bender to San Antonio and you just want a very cheap place where you can sleep (you will need to be drunk though to sleep properly on the beds) and where you can shower. In my opinion, if you are a couple or if you like staying in some comfort during your holiday then this is not the place for you.

We had a lovely stay (two young couples) all of the staff were very friendly and cooperating with anything we asked. We did witness some firm requests from staff for music to be turned down after midnight.
The location is pretty central and about a 5-10 min walk from the main strip, it was actually nice to have the walk. Food was lovely and the staff advised good places to eat. Drinks severed all night.
The hotel lacked a 5 star in my opinion as it was 10 EUR per night for air con, and in the rooms could have benefited from a little fridge to keep drinks cool (Although the trick of filling the bath worked, it was a pain to keep doing everytime we had a shower!

We would definitely recommend and stay again if in the area.

Room Tip: Patio rooms are good and view the pool but can get noisy during the day (music is played quite loud...
