Ibiza Rocks Hotel
Reviewed July 30, 2013

I stayed at the Ibiza rocks hotel for 4 nights during the month of July. Be worn that you must book way in advance if you want to stay at the hotel on either Wednesday or Friday as this is when the headline gigs will be performing at the hotel.

First impressions were good, great entrance with "Ibiza Rocks Hotel" lit up in lights with a convinience and sovourneir store located on site. The hotel reception itself is very clean and signed posted so you know where everything is.

During check-in we were made aware of some additional charges which weren't made clear on the original booking, namely:

- 60 euro deposit for the room
- extra charge for A/C
- extra charge for TV

The rooms are very basic which is to be expected from the best party hotel in Ibiza, the rooms are furnished with 2 beds and spares beneath, table/chairs, patio furniture, microwave, oven, sink, mirror. Everything was suprisingly clean and orderly...If possible try and book a pool view room so you can watch the gigs from your balcony.

The poolside has a great atmosphere - large pool with plenty of sunbeds, plus there's a DJ playing tunes throughout the day. There are plenty of bars which serve food, alcohol or even better for a hangover slush puppies!!!!

The hotel is located about 5minutes walk from the main strip near the westend but recommend getting one of the PR people to show the way as the narrow streets can be quite lonely at night. There are cafes, shops, bars and restaurants scattered around the near vicinity of the hotel - I particularly recommend a cafe when you turn left out of the hotel - its run by a guy called rico. Here you'll find full english breakfasts, playstation 3, cocktails, decent dinner food etc

The gigs are by fat the best thing about this hotel, we were lucky enough to see Idris Elba and Example perform. The atmoshpere was incredible and matched that of Amnesia and Pacha which we also went to!! If there's a reason you're going to stay at this hotel then its definitely this one!!!!

All in all, I would recommend this hotel - if you're looking for a quieter holiday look elsewhere

Room Tip: Pool view for gigs

Hi Matthew

Thanks for reviewing Ibiza Rocks - your feedback is appreciated.

With a Stage View room you get the watch our live events from your balcony which some people see as essential - others prefer to be in and amongst it with the crowd!

I'm glad you enjoyed the atmosphere poolside and the slush puppies seem to be a very good choice for the hangover cure this year!

Our 1st impressions: As soon as we arrived, we felt the hotel was safe, clean and of a good quality - this is all we were worried about! We checked in with no issues at 3.30am by a lovely, helpful receptionist.

We felt the hotel was well organised and thought of everything a group of friends may need. The whole hotel was clean and at not one point did I think anything was dirty. The service we had from the staff was mostly friendly and the food was also very nice.

Overall, we had a great holiday.. Couldn't fault the hotel or the holiday at all! Really recommend this to a group of friends.

As soon as we arrived at 5am (group of 9 girls aged 20-23yrs) we could see drunk people staggering around and having a great time - but it wouldn't have been from alcohol served at the hotel bars unless your a millionnaire. We had to fork out for room deposits, a/c and a safe as soon as we got there - and we had already spent £500 on 7 day holiday. Met our rep - Georgie - in the morning after breakfast (which we didnt eat on site - again too expensive) but many great little cafes around which you could get an amazing breakfast for 4euro. Georgie was lovely, found out what music and things we were into so she could advise us on what outings to do and gave us good prices (spent 120euro on 4 tickets - highly recommend ibiza rocks the boat w.a.rship!) All the reps had answers to your questions tbf. We has previously been to malia, where it was all about the sex games and awkward feelings (not that we werent up for a good time - but we were all in a relationship so not the scene we want to be apart of) - it was always all about the great music! Everyone else staying at the hotel was a good laugh, wanting to chat and up for a good time - never saw or experienced any trouble at all! Atmosphere around the hotel, especially at the pool side was amazing - house, r and b, reggae, dance, rock/pop music constantly mixed by live dj. You need to get to the pool early to get sunbeds! putting towels down was fine. On our first day we had to sit round table and chairs - got told to put out feet down and not to consume water we had bought from the hotel supermarket around the hotel - rooms only - but it cost 2euro for a small bottle of water from the bar! money which you had to put on your key card (to get into your room) - just an inconvenience as reception was always busy with people coming and going. We had fresh towels once during our stay. Room that slept 3 people basically slept 2. Got to experience one free gig at the hotel during our stay which was incredible. However, on our last day we checked out at 12pm and unable to keep a room on - but Biffy Clyro were playing that evening - and because we checked out at 12, we werent entitled to free wristbands to see them!! we had payed £500 !! So me and my friends found a way onto the roof and watched it from there - not the same experience but better than nothing ans still free. Basically, we all had a great time, a hotel worth experiencing if your wanting to sleep all day and party all night - but not one i would go back to - just because of the money we had spent initially didnt seem worth it, if you have a bottomless pocket - you might view differently!

Hi Mel

Thanks for your review and for sharing your experiences with us - it will only help us to improve for future guests.

Ibiza Rocks has never, and will never promote ourselves through games that may make people feel uncomfortable like many other brands - we're all about the music whether it be in the hotel or on the boat where we have acoustic sets and established DJs for our guests to enjoy.

A room deposit is standard with any hotel in Ibiza, whether it be cash or holding card details. This is only €60 and is returned in full at the end of your stay should there be no damages to the room or it's contents. Similarly with air-con and safety deposit boxes, this is explained on all third party selling websites and brochures.

With regards to the Gig that you missed out on, each guest pays an entertainment supplement per night that they are staying. As you had checked out in the morning, you wouldn't have paid the supplement for the night that the gig was on.

Hope this clears and few things up for you and perhaps we'll see you again soon.

Me and 4 mates stayed at the Rocks hotel and what we experienced was beyond our imagination. We had a brilliant time watching the live gigs as well as chilling by the pool throughout the day. We met one rep called Georgie who made our stay a whole lot better because her service was second to none. There was nothing too far to make our stay more pleasurable. Thanks for the memories rocks!

Very poor quality rooms with fold out beds and felt dirty and tired. You have to pay extra for air conditioning. It is expensive for what it is and you have to pay for everything by topup card. The rooms have balconies which either look over the pool or stage which was good. The pools themselves were very nice. Lets face it, the only reason anyone stays at Ibiza rocks is for the atmosphere. I think the owners realise this and as such make no effort to make the rooms decent. For the price, I wouldn't stay here again, but we had a very good time.

Hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were all very helpfull when needed however was not worth the price we paid 6 of us went with 3 in each room and it was simply a room with 2 beds and 1 pull out bed on the floor. The food selection is very limited and some of the portion sizes wernt great i.e. chicken wrap with 2 tiny bits of chicken and some salad. we didnt have a main pool view room which turned out for the best as the main pools music is rather loud when ur dying with a hangover from the night before. good location to the main strip5 min walk and not too far from the beach bout a 15 min walk and theres always taxis outside if you are going to any of the bigger clubs like amnesia and privilege. es paradis and eden are within walkin distance bout 20 walk. also its ment to be a 18 and over hotel however there were children at the gig nights.

so to sum up i would rather pay to go to the gigs and stay at another hotel with better value for money also go to the glow party at es paradis its amazing tip though wear shoes with good grip as the floor gets very slippy from all the paint

Just got back from 10 days out here, definitely best holiday I've had.

First of all me and me friends were in the apartments not the hotel, so I can't comment on the hotel but anytime I was there for either events or just to browse it looked incredible. The apartments are a little more chilled than the hotel but you still reap all the benefits of been an Ibiza rocks guest.

Secondly I can strongly recommend to anyone that if you are out in Ibiza YOU NEED TO GO TO Privilege on either a Friday or a Monday. It's biggest club in the world, there's loads of stuff going on, the night we went, we were lucky to go on Asian Fantasy night which meant loads of weird and wonderful things which included beautiful women everywhere you look, iron man DJ's amazing music, flames shooting out of nowhere and neon tandem bike hanging over the crowd. Seriously was amazing and it was only 35euros.

As for the clubs do your research before you pay for anything, like music and destination. For instance we went to Space and Eden and didnt really like the music there and both were pretty expensive.

Taxi's were reasonable, the most we payed for 36 euros so with three of us it was 12 each.
Make sure you pre drink before because you do sober up pretty quickly in the club and drinks are so expensive in the club. There supermarkets scattered around the town so go there and stock up.

Food was amazing out there, need to recommend these two places, there was a little cafe right next to the entrance of the Ibiza Rocks Apartments where they did these amazing toasties and burgers and was actually really cheap. Then there was David's Pizzeria just up the road which was one of the best Italian Restaurants I've been to. The pasta there was orgasmic. There are load of other places toward the town centre but they are a little bit pricy but nothing to much to complain about.

Was one of the best holidays I've had if your going make the most of it, be smart about where you go and do your research, the Ibiza Rocks crew will definitely will help you out with that so ask them as much questions as possible, there was a cool guy there with some sort of weird yet cool ponytail who was really helpful. As for money me and my friends spent like 600 between us which I thought was amazing as I took a grand expecting to spending it all so as long as your clever with your money, your fine.

Also I'd recommend you'd check out Amnesia, the Ibiza Rocks bar oh and go on a Boat Party, there insane, the DJ is quality there is an accoustic session at the stop off point which was quality, definitely recommend it to anyone, (Wednesdays are the better days).

Room Tip: If you want music and not bothered about getting much sleep than the hotel is the place for you the...
