“Value for money”
Reviewed August 16, 2010

Having read a lot of reviews prior to going on holiday and staying at the Riviera Hotel, I was a little apprehensive.
Their where three of us who went, three woman in our early twenties. This is the first lively holiday I have been on I usually opt for relaxing holidays.
We arrived the early hours and their was a 24 hour reception who where efficient and friendly. Our room was large, clean and had a lovely view of the sea. Their was a bit of noise from the room next to us but this was just the first night and we never had this problem again. Our first day we spent by the pool and this was clean and their where plenty of sun loungers to be shared and two pools. Whilst on our stay we visited our friends in another hotel in Ibiza where the bars ect are over the water from our hotel and it was a total contrast to the hotel we where in. People where drunk and arguing by the pool and the hotel staff where very rude.
I wouldn't over sell this hotel, it isn't a 4* hotel it lives up to its 3*s and if your looking for a hotel you can go back to after a wild night to chill out this is ideal. Even if you where just after a clean hotel where your not so close to the hustle and bustle of all the bars and clubs but close enough this is the perfect place.
If you would live anymore information regarding the hotel please ask. fay.anthony@brammer.biz

althought the hotel was really clean.... there was no entertainment at all there just a random CD thtat repeated itself after 10 songs!! the food was very good for a 3 star if you liked salad and pasta.... er you had to pay for your bottle water which was a bit of a liberty!!! the swimming pool was not really clean or the surrounding areas .all the sun loungers were broken!!!! our room had a big flood the first day and we had to change rooms giving us a view of the back of the bar which were laden with beer barrels.... if you dont care where you stay.... then stay in this dump.........but the end of the day you pay for wot you get...but the food was defiately for the health conscious if you wanted it!!!!

This hotel is good for a budget week in all inclusive
The location is not so good though it is not right on the beach , set back across the road and we wanted to go across to san antonio for sunset, bars etc so it is about a 15 minute walk to the water taxi then boat ride over.
APart from this we liked the hotel was mostly young & Lively with a few families the reception staff were lovely, the communal areas like halls, reception etc very nice
The room is quite basic , bathroom is spacious with hairdyer and towels changed regualarly . Maids were there twice we were only there 5 days so quite good
The food was good at breakfast full fry up with sausages bacon beans etc , lunch and dinner were pretty much identical buffet style, pasta, meat , fish salad salmi so we ate out most evenings as we got bored with same stuff
Drinks were good only allowed 2 all inc drinks at a time though.. and i had had to ask themto top up my pina colada with extra rum as it was pre mixed jugs and they were not very strong
In general this hotel was ok , but I wouldnt go bcak just purely because of the location ... if you want to be more in the centre or easily accessible to san antonio then this is not for you , Otherwise quite good though

Firstly the staff are extremely unhelpful at this hotel. The whole property was filthy and during our stay did not appear to be cleaned. On our second day at the hotel our room was broken in to whilst we were around the swimming pool. We had a ground floor room, our balcony door was forced open, they raided through our suitcases and belongings and stole money and jewellery. We went to reception to report this, they did not care at all. We explained that a gentlemen had reported something suspicious 10 minutes before and the receptionist denied it! They would not contact the police, so we had to go to the police station to report the crime ourselves. After speaking to other guests and staff who worked nearby the hotel, it appears to be a daily/weekly occurence in this property. Another room was broken in to the next day. I appreciate you get what you pay for, but you do not expect such a poor attitude when your personal possesions are stolen and the hotel not to respond to poor security. I have been fortunate enough to have travelled all around the world and even stayed in many 3rd world countries, but I have never been to such an awful place. My advice would be DO NOT stay at this hotel!!!!!!!

I'd read a lot of mixed reviews about this hotel, and the best advice I would give is don't stay here if:
= your over 30
= you want a quiet hotel
= your a fussy eater
= you have children
= you expect hotel entertainment

This hotel is mainly suited for young adults looking for a fun time in the sun. There were 'Hen/Stag' holiday groups, groups of guys / girls, young couples, but its defo not a family environment or for the more mature relaxed traveller. Rooms were very clean and ours had fridge/basic self catering equip, even though we were all inclusive. Our friends however had a smaller room with no such facilities and had 3 beds squeezed into a smaller room. If you do book with this hotel, get air con for the room. Its only 10euros and you get that back at end of your stay, well worth it.

I'm a particularly fussy eater, so wasn't overally impressed with selection of food. I don't do breakfast but my friends who did said it was the best meal of the day. Lunch was ok, i'd generally stick to chips or fruit. A lot of the meals were quite tasteless, with the expection of the fish dishes. Another concern with the dining area was that you had to queue & its self service, plus there could be flies landing on some of the food as it wasn't covered. We ate out most nights. The price we paid for all inc wasn't much different to self catering so food/drinks available was worth it in that sense.

All inclusive it certaining was not. Be warned you have to pay for any drinks bought from the bar after 11pm at night & it closes promptly at midnight (lights out even outside seating). There is a snack menu during the day but you have to pay for it. Free snacks include 3 different types of tasteless biscuits that are at the bar & again they're not covered. On a plus side there's nice ice cream which is free. All drinks are served in very small plastic cups and you can only have 2 drinks max per person at any one time.

Pool area is very big (2 pools plus 1 kids pool) and it gets the sun all day. However there's a distinct lack of sunbeds & a lot were broken. One of us had to get up at 7.30am every morning in order to guarantee having one by 10am. My advice is buy a cheap airbed to sit on top of sunbed to make more comfortable. There's no bar service out at the pool area & the small hut bar was closed the whole time we were there, so each time you wanted a drink you had to go indoors to get it.

Most of the staff were pleasant, but of course there are always a few grumpy ones. One of the older barman (60+) asked for my phone number which I thought was very inappropriate considering i'm only 39 (but look 29), bit sleazy, thankfully it was my last day so managed to avoid him.

Entertainment is fortnightly only, and out of the week we stayed there was nothing so not sure if there's any entertainment at all to be honest. Didn't look up to much anyway from the notices.

The area around the hotel is great. Plenty of bars if you want to be nearby, shops for browsing through, there's a perfume shop which is about 5-10Euros cheaper than the airport for most things. There's also a Spar shop directly opposite on the main road which sells frozen bottles of water which come in handy by the pool as you will be melting with the heat. There is also the boat taxi which departs from the far end of the beach, 2.50Euros one way, well worth it, last one back from San An is about 11.30 for same price.

Overall I was happy staying in this hotel and would only recommend it for a groups of friends going away to party in Ibiza and just wanting a basic hotel with basic food. Its defo not a 3star hotel by UK standards.

Before travelling I read a lot of reviews and was certainly dubious about what I'd find. When we arrived I was instantly surprised. Check in was efficient and got to the room promptly. Room was very clean and comfortable and the balcony had a nice sea view. I'll go through a few things that people have been over dramatic about when writing their reviews.

1- Food:
Food was edible. Not great but typical spanish 3* fare. Plenty of choice and it didn't make us ill. No flies whatsoever in the restaurant.

2- Staff:
99% of them were ok. Nice and polite and did their job. 1 guy that worked at the bar was a bit odd and asked where my mother was but he was ok if you were polite.

3- Noise:
Let's be homest- if you're going to San Antonio you are not going to be sleeping much! 1 night we went to bed fairly early and didn't really gt disturbed much. But it's to be expected, you're in the party capital of the world!

Overall fantastic eperience of the hotel, no hassle, comfortable rooms and ok food. Good location as well. Right behind BN3 where a lot of the pre-parties are held.

It is one of the cheapest hotels in san an and what you get for your money is brilliant.
