I had read a lot of the reviews on this site and was worried about staying here. The hotel was booked by the organiser of our stag do for a 3 night stay all inclusive. Personally I always prefer to spend that bit extra and go for a 4 star but there were a couple of us going who were on a tighter budget. We were looking for the lively nightlife of San Antonio's Sunset Strip and West End but without having to be in it 24/7.
Overall, I found the rooms to be clean and certainly no cockroaches in them, although mine was a little on the small side for a double room. The rooms have air conditioning, with the remote needing to be collected from reception for a 10 euro deposit. The room also had a safe for 4 euros a day and 10 euro deposit. There was also a TV which I didn't use. Had a great view from the balcony overlooking the pool and the sea, though many of the rooms faced other buidings.
The food was what I would expect for a 3 star hotel in Ibiza. It was quite edible but there was a lack of variety. being only a 3 night trip this wasn't a problem but I certainly would have got fed up if staying for longer. Personally I would have preferred a bit more in the way of traditional Spanish food, but I expect the management are trying to cater for its mainly British clientele. The breakfasts were certainly the best of the daily meals. Some of the reviews mentioned that there was nothing but biscuits and pasties for lunch, but I'm wondering if they realised these were available all day and that lunch was in the main restaurant! One thing that really did annoy me though was that one of the staff grabbed my shorts without warning to see if they were wet as I entered the restaurant. They weren't, but I made sure I changed into proper shorts after that!
The drinks were all served in plastic cups as already mentioned and you could only get 2 at a time. I would have preferred having glasses in the evening but to be honest it really wasn't an issue. There was 8 of us in all and every time someone wanted a drink they would get one for someone else.
The hotel was quite noisy and you could hear some conversations in the rooms next to you as well as TV's and shutting wardrobe etc. I am a very light sleeper, but to be honest I didn't find this as much of a problem as my neighbours both seemed to go to bed early and get up late. However, if you are not keen on staying up until dawn and you have people next to you that do then you may not be too impressed.
The hotel is located near to a more family friendly area of bars, restaurants and theme pubs. A boat taxi to the main part of San Antonio ran every 30 minutes until 10pm from the jetty 5 minutes away, and was a 10 minute taxi journey from the West End once the boats had stopped.
I think this is a great hotel if you are looking for a short budget break with friends, but would probably be more for those in their mid to late 20's and up looking for a more relaxed base rather than the younger crowd who would probably prefer somewhere nearer the lively West End. It's probably not great for a family holiday though, as entertainment for kids was scarce though we went out of high season.
Overall I was quite happy with the hotel considering ts 3 star status (probably would be considered a 2 star in the UK), but then that is what I was expecting. To sum up I would recommend this for groups on short trips who wanted to avoid staying smack bang in the West End but who were happy to indulge in San Antonio's nightlife when it suited them.
