Me and my father have just returned from 9 nights here. We went slighty worried given the reviews. However I was very pleased with the service we got.
Firstly the staff, there is one woman on reception (normally during days) who is the only one I found a problem with on the front desk. The rest speak good english, try to help as best as possible, polite and try to have a laugh with you.
Food, well there is something there for everyone. There is pasta, fish meat, salad and a mix of chips/onion rings / spring rolls etc. The breakfast was typical hotel style. Cereal and cooked. However the full english option is bizarre in out of our stay only one day was the sausage actually a english sausage the rest being a hot dog style!
The staff in the room are very rude. There is one waitress with black hair and she is very polite and courtious. The older ones are very disrespectful. The male not so much as the older women. They speak their native toungue to you regardless of your nationality. The way they go about the entering when wet policy is a touch of sexual harrassment and rarelyyy do you get a bye back when your are curtious to them.
The bar is a strange one. You can get a drink with out ice in if you ask. Toni is always polite and has a joke with you and a talk. Jesus the younger of the staff was polite smiling and also up for a bit of banter. The same goes for another older member of the staff whose name I did not remember. The two drinks policy in the cups really needs to be reviewed as you spend half the night queueing for drinks!
Entertainment wise there isn't really any. During our stay we got 3 hours worth of entertainment on the stage over 3 nights. Things like a quiz, karaoke, bingo etc wouldn't go a miss.
The room was what we needed, tho the tv is awful high up! haha. They are spacious, cool, big bathroom, great views of the bay and the pool. The pools in the hotel are well maintained and you have the typical hunt for the lounger if you do not get down early! The hotel on a whole was spotless and tidy.
If the entertainment side was sorted I would recommend this hotel without a doubt! I found the people who moaned seemed to pick out on everything. Some complained about noise yet they were at the bar til 1am them selves laughing and screaming for example. People seemed to go on holiday just to find something to complain about. I have stayed in 4 hotels on the bay and I reckon this is joint top with the hotel next door - Rosamar.
