“Got what I paid for”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

Booked a last minute week away - at a lowish price.

Room 121 on the first floor: Clean, new beds, powerful shower with plenty of hot water. A little noise in the evening, negated by efficient air conditioning meaning the windows could be closed. Only one english channel on the small LCD TV (BBC World) - but I didnt go on holiday to watch TV.

Food: Hot, plentiful, salads and fruit particularly good. It did get repetitive after a few days and I had a couple of meals out, which I'd probably have done anyway.

Bar: All inclusive 10am - 11pm. Estrella Lager, Local Spirits, Coca-Cola, Fanta etc all served in 330ml plastics with ice if you wanted it. Staff friendly and efficient - especially Fernado and Vanessa. Snacks limited to pots of nuts, sandwiches, biscuits/pastries.

Pool: Cold (but it was May.) - I never had an issue getting a sunlounger, but the space around the pool is quite small and I'd imagine it could be challenge in high season. The beach is 30 seconds away if you walk slowly.

Public areas of the hotel VERY clean and functional. Free Wifi limited to the lounge area and the wall between the beach and the pool (if you go, you'll see what I mean). Other residents of the hotel respectful, quiet and good company.

No entertainment day or evening provided - but there's a good selection of decent bars locally (I liked Donnegans), and it's 20 minutes easy flat walking in to San Antonio, or a water taxi from directly outside the rear of the hotel.

For what I paid, very happy. Don't let anyone tell you it's 4* though. If you're looking to party book somewhere closer to the West End...

Room Tip: Ask for a seaview.

Dear guest,

First of all, thank you very much for relying on PlayaSol Hotel group. We are very satisfied that we could achieve with your expectations. These kinds of comments are very useful to check our facilities and services and to improve day by day.

However, we would like to comment some points. For example, our restaurant service tries to offer a wide variety of food and every day the menu is different. However, we are opened to new suggestions. On the other hand, the Wi-Fi like you commented is limited to the common areas like the lounge bar, if you wants a better connection we have available a premium connection. Finally, we are offering three shows per week to provide an enjoyable stay in the hotel.

Once again, thank you very much for your time and your suggestions. These kinds of comments help us to build a better service and to surpass ourselves.

Regards,

Alfredo M.

Just back from a lovely 4 night stay at the san remo with my 6 year old niece and mum. My 14th visit to the island and normally stay at the sirenis seaview which is fabulous however the price was ridiculously out of my budget this year so chose the more affordable san remo, have to admit I was wary after being used to a certain standard at the sirenis.

We needn't have worried at all, was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. From checkin to checkout every member of staff was friendly and helpful. Special mention to Jose the lifeguard he is an absolute credit to the hotel please do ur best to appreciate and keep him at your hotel he was a star and my niece loved him, he didn't take his eyes off the children making sure they were safe! Deserves a wage rise!

Room was great, bed comfy, beautiful view over the sea and very clean.

Food was great, fresh bread every day, plenty of choice...salad, cold meats, pasta, pizza, fresh cooked meats. The toaster was a little frustrating and needed to put the bread through about 6 times to get some colour on it but actually just found this funny. Restaurant manAger very welcoming and helpful with the kids.

Local area is great, crazy golf across the road, kids play area with trampolines + go karts. Lovely boat ride over to San Antonio for 2.50 euros.

Two small complaints,

1.....no entertainment so at night you have to leave the hotel and find ur own which wasn't a problem but wud have been good to have a show on and make use of the all inclusive drinks rather than going out and spending money.

2....the all inclusive wristbands are cut off at 11am even though you don't leave till later that day. I checked out my room b4 11 and didn't get mines cut off but later in the day when I went for a drink the bar man cut it off. I heard many people complain about this. Perhaps you could have a system where you give a pass to allow you a meal + drink after checkout time or simply just allow bands to stay on till leaving.

The Ibiza sunset is a must, either at kumharas (in the bay) or the famous cafe del mar across in San Antonio.

Returning in September but staying next door in the mar amantis, hope they are as good as san remo.

Few little Improvements would be great guys but all in all well done!

Dear Kirsty C,

Thank you very much for your comment. We are very happy that you spent a good time in our facilities and we could achieve your expectations. We try to improve day by day to provide a good stay to our customer. We will communicate to our staff your greetings.

On the other hand, we will check the kitchen equipment; actually we have a new budget to change the toasters to provide a better service. Moreover, I would like to review the complaints that you have commented. First of all, it is true that we do not have an entertainment service every day, but we have included three shows per week to provide an enjoyable stay. Secondly, the twist bands should be cute when the checkout is done; it is a mandatory company rule. However, we will consider your recommendation about the meal plus the drink pass.

Thank you again for your time and for trusting in PlayaSol Hotel Group. We hope to see you again in our facilities.

Kind regards,

Alfredo M.

The hotel is on very good place at the bay of Sant Antoni. Watersports direkty in front of the hotel, also the transfer boats to fantastic beaches like Cala Bassa and Cala Comte. A ferry take you to Sant Antoni...

I was with a group of boys going on a typical holiday to Ibiza, we arrive at the hotel and automatically get approached by the security guard and told all these rules before even going to our rooms, straight away we knew this was going to be bad. The location was nowhere near the main bar areas or popular spots instead it was near a benidorm type area which was only for people over 50. Even if you aren't young and still want a drink and to have a laugh this hotel will not allow it not provide the location. At one point during the holiday we met up with some friends who were also staying in Ibiza, during the day they came back to the hotel and our friends were immediately stopped when they walked in told they had to wait in the reception which was such a strange rule(I have never come across this before). Finally we were never told a check out time, we found out from a Spanish cleaning lady shouting at us Spanish at this point it became clear we had to leave so we got up and naturally had a shower and picked our bags up. During this short time we were shouted at by many staff and threatened with security guards; such disgusting customer service. What I'm trying to say is that we spent minimal time at the hotel because everything was shoddy from the food to the facilities, wi-fi never working and not very helpful staff either. The only upside to the holiday was a little cafe across the street who provided an ok meal with a smile. Keep well away from this hotel and it's location !

Dear Steerio,

We appreciate the time that you spent giving your opinion. We regret if our facilities and services did not achieve with your expectations.
First of all, I would like to explain that the hotel San Remo is in San Antonio Bay, 2 km far away from San Antonio Center. Therefore, if you want to arrive to the center there are many public transport options like bus or boats. Next to the hotel you can find the aqua bus and the bus stop, which arrive to the San Antonio center in less than 10 minutes. Our staff will be happy to help you and give you indications.
Secondly, one of our main goals is our customer’s security, for this reason, our security personnel are in charge of monitoring who enters to the hotel.
Thirdly, our reception staff is always in charge of informing our guest about check in and check out times, as well restaurant timetables. However, we regret if this information was not explained, but you can find this information in Playasol Hotel Group webpage.
Fourthly, we have free Wi-Fi service in the common areas and you can contract Premium Wi-Fi service for the room. Moreover, the restaurant tries to offer a wide variety of food and a different menu every day.
Finally, we want to apologize again for the disadvantages that you could experience and we take notes about your comments to improve day by day.

Kind regards,

Alfredo M.

Just got back today from a 3 night break with my 9 year old little girl.
First..... The room was clean, however was really tired and upon our arrival the balcony had not been cleaned properly!
The food was poor, most dishes were not labelled and we ended up eating out most meal times.
All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful, the public areas of the hotel were kept clean.
The biggest let down for me, was no entertainment whatsoever at the hotel, despite the hotel advertising on numerous websites that they do have entertainment on.
Really hard to keep the children occupied of an evening and let's face it, they are on their holidays and do not want to go to bed straight after their evening meal.
In summary I was glad we were only there for 3 nights!
