We have been to the Costa for the last 15 years. Over that time some of the best restaurants have closed - La Taberna, Luik's Carousel etc. Therefore it is a pleasure to announce a new arrival, El Infante. We came upon this as we were walking around the Guadalmina shopping complex. When we arrived the restaurant was empty, our table was reserved, nice touch. We were greeted by the owner Alfonso and waited upon by Jose. The restaurant opened recently and Alfonso's enthusiasm for his project was evident in the attention he gave us. Starter was stunning, Tuna Takiaki, which was an exceptional sushi dish. I order Cod, it is true what we say in Ireland "the Spanish have fished our best cod". I thoroughly enjoyed it and my husband after tasting said it reminded him of the fish he used to eat when he was a child. My husband had pasta negra with prawns and shrimps. He was silent for 15 minutes and didn't drink his wine, it was that good. A special mention to Sasha the chef for such excellent fare. The wine Caecus was at Alphonso's recommendation was excellently smooth. Aperitifs and digestifs led a very respectable bill, very good value. Hence my "infatuation" with El Infante. Definitely recommended!!!
