10 of us stayed at the cortijo in August.Fanastic weather.we paid for a superior room, and I loved it. Really quietly situated at the back of the hotel, overlooking trees and grass, comfy and modern.my Aunt had a normal room.it was equally modern but was over the entertainment, which finishes at 12, and but she was completely happy.I really liked the hotel, it had a nice feel to it, mixing modern amd traditional decor. The hotel was situated perfectly for me. Bus stop 50 metres away.1.23 euro's to puerto banus or marbella.Taxi 8 euro's one way to Pbanus and marbella 16 euro's.You can also get to puerto banus on foot, on a safe costal bath.25 mins each way. The beach is less than 10 mins away on a straight road at the right of the hotel. This did take me 10 days to discover, and I had been taking a longer but pleasant route. The beach is pebbley but has got shingly bits. It has a lovely promanade with about 7 bars/restaurants on and takes about 20 mins to walk from one end to the other. There are two bars on the right of the hotel, never went. A supermarket, a chinese, italian and I think a thsi reastaurant very close by.On the left, virtually 5 footsteps away is buddies bar. We spent many a good time there.Prices varied for drinks but always good value. Enjoyed irish coffee, pizza, wine and superb steaks there. The negatives of this hotel are:
I am not a fussy eater, but found the food cold and unappitising. I did not starve and always found something, even if it might be a cheese and tomatoe samdwich. The lemon tart was delish, some soups were great if hot, and freshly cooked prawns were lovely. But you had to search and sometimes micro wave.plus I found the dinning room really squashed, v.hot and very stark white.I thought the majority of staff fine. Some on reception look a bit sullen and don't quite go the extra mile when your asking advice. The scottish woman v.efficient and helpful. Some of the bar staff were great including the bar manager. I'm not a lover of the restaurant staff a bit misearable.my husband hired a mobility scooter with receptions help, if anyone reading this has trouble walking. We all had a great time. But I am the only one that would go back.I loved it.Hope this helpful.
