“we love it here”
Reviewed June 21, 2014

We love coming here. We have been here a few times now (dont normally go back to the same place) but this has now become an october tradition (seems to be a few peoples too). This time we actually took my parents who also enjoyed it. Theall inc deal was a little more expensive this year - seems to creep up each year. We love the style of the hotel and the area. The rooms are clean and spacious and we had a lovely big balconey overlooking the entertainment this time (last time we had a very small room and balcony, didnt bother us but theyd move you if you werent happy). The food is fantastic, 2 buffet areas morning, lunch and dinner. Bbqs, snacks are fab inc hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches, chips, pasta etc and go on till midnight. Fab little ice cream pots too. The entertainment from the globales team are great. I love playing the bingo (look out for the funny words used :), globales hotels are fab, offering a good communal feel offering archery, darts, bowels etc all inc which is fab for adults and children. The bars are fab too, san miguel on tap, cava, local style baileys all included. Just wish the bar staff were a little more friendlier and smiled. The sunbeds and area are lovely, clean but the pool is seriously cold :( will definitely be returning unless they start charging stupid prices and looking forward to october. This time we went when the fiesta was on in san pedro - they have a massive fair, shows, carnival, music, club sessions and fireworks the lot. Everyone is on the streets enjoying themselves and the lofal bars offer small tapas and fiesta offers where people are all sitting in the street at tables, eating, drinking singing and playing instruments.

Lovely clean hotel, the food was good but was always cool, but there is a microwave. the entertainment improved in the 2nd week we were there, although the team did work hard, as did all the hotel staff and everyone was friendly! The rooms behind the tennis courts seemed to be quieter than where we where.

A lovely clean hotel with good food and never ending drinks, the bar staff were very good especially the two ladies that worked on the bar,All staff were pleasant down to the lady that cleaned our room, my only concerns were that they charged 30 Euro a week for the safe in the room, considering there were rooms being broken into I think the hotel should have provided them to their guests free of charge. Also guests filling their empty water bottles from the drink dispensers in the dining room, this is a health hazard and should be addressed by the management.Saying all that,We did have a lovely time at this hotel and met some nice people, especially Jill and John.

Room Tip: We had a room over by the tennis courts and they are quieter than the rest. All rooms have free air c...

I booked this hotel for the week of May half term, as being a teacher, school holidays are the only time I can go away.
There was very little available within the budget, and I decided to take a big risk on this booking, as last year we stayed at one of Thomson's Premium Hotels (at at least double the price) and was worried about booking 3 star.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful, and I can honestly say my friend and I preferred it to the expensive 4/5 star the year before!

When we arrived in Marbella, we were directed onto a coach, where we sat for almost an hour waiting for the rep!!!! She got on, told us to put our seat belts on, and got off again?!! First Choice/ Thomson need to buck their ideas up. This was also a long and boring transfer (another 1.5 hours, whilst we drove round dropping people at their hotels. Those for the Cortijo are last :(

You are dropped at the side of a duel carriage way..... Don't be put off. Just around the corner awaits the pleasure of a swish entrance hall, where friendly staff sort you out and send you to your room.

The hotel is spotlessly clean, and the grounds are a garden of tropical flowers. Gardeners are around every day, watering and pruning, and maintaining the lovely surroundings.

The rooms are quite basic, but have a flat screen TV (not much to watch in English though) and have been recently redecorated.

Our room was cleaned every day, our beds made, and we always saw cleaners around. The shower was very powerful (a must for me) and the bathroom had a bidet (not that we used it!)
The beds seemed comfortable at first, but by the end of the week we found them quite hard and more uncomfortable. But it wasn't something I'd complain about.

We heard some stories about theft, and a girl had her bag stolen whilst sitting in reception on her wifi, so do make sure to lock your door and watch your possessions.

Having said that, we had no problems at all, and despite being on the ground or we felt very safe.

The best rooms are at the back of the hotel, no's 1000-1200's. The second floor is best, where the balconies get more sun. Great for drying towels even of you don't sit out. Ask for a room facing into the hotel, as the ones facing the back don't have great views. People who stayed around the bar area found it quite noisy.

The food is lovely. You could say its samey, as a similar pattern is followed each day.... 2 types of fish, a meat/ chicken option, rice dish, pasta and sauce, chips, usually a type of lasagne, vegetables, pizza, and a salad bar. But use your imagination, and vary your meals yourself!! If you have a bit of everything, it would get similar. But you can have pasta one night, chips another, salad another, and you will keep your diet varied :) Puddings aren't amazing, but they were better than the 5 star last year!!!

You can get food almost all the time, so you don't have to eat in the restaurant. Plus they did several outdoor BBQs at lunch times.
They won't let you take food from the restaurant or snack bar outside. This was annoying as we love to be in the sun. But it wasn't a massive problem.

The central bar serves cocktails - there is a limited but very adequate inclusive selection, plus others you can buy, plus free unlimited tea and coffees, decent red and white wine and soft drinks, and ice creams to buy if you want to. Drinks are served in plastic cups. Water is free in a cup but a large bottle is charged for (85c). We bought one each, then used the bar taps in the restaurant or the snack bar to refill our bottles all week.

The indoor bar serves the same range but in glasses. You can sit out on that bar terrace, overlooking the road down to the beach.

The sun beds are amazingly comfortable, and we never had trouble getting one. We tended to sunbathe away from the pool, though, on the terraces near the tennis courts. It was peaceful there, despite the children's pool (and remember this was school holidays!)

My only negative would be the entertainment, which is pretty poor. My team WON the music quiz, but it was overly drawn out, and not professionally led. There was one rep who had a VERY loud and annoying voice, and they seemed to choose her to be on the mike a lot :(
On Sunday night we were told it was a flamenco show, but we were "entertained" by a rubbishy magician instead, which was very disappointing. :(

Otherwise, we had an amazing week at a beautiful hotel, which for such a bargain price, we were thrilled with! We got far more than we paid for, in our opinion, and will certainly be going back!

It says a lot about a hotel when speaking to holiday makers they have continued to return to this hotel year after year some for over fifteen and some of the staff find over twenty. So what's so special about this three star rating little gem ? Well it's situated south of Marbella, Puerto Banus and next to San Pedro directly adjacent to a main road. It's about fifty minutes from Malaga airport and the trip is pleasant, especially if you take the coast road.

Since our last visit there has been some pesetas splashed out on the seating area to the reception and lounge and the main restaurant. Apart from that everything's just as it was before. Holidaymakers consisted of Dutch, French, Germans and British of all ages. We went all inclusive which is ideal if you are working to a budget but you can go for half board or room only. As you enter the hotel there's a guest car park and in good condition. Entrance area and indeed throughout the hotel is on one level and where there are difference in levels there's ramps. Toilets are situated throughout the complex and includes disabled. There's wonderful gardens that are blooming with fragrant flowers and well kept hedges.

The staff were friendly and eager to help and all facilities, including our room clean, with air conditioning and well kept. Our room was behind the small kiddies pool which was quiet. Facilities include an outside bar which provides copious amounts of drink throughout the day. Be aware however, there are three basic cocktails that are on the all inclusive list and after that you have to pay extra. All spirits are local but as good as the real deal. The food is good, especially the outside BBQ served up three times a week and when the main restaurant closes a snack bar opens half an hour later until midnight. The bodega bar inside is pleasant with plenty of spaces to sit internally and externally.

Entertainment is good with several artists performing on the small stage. In addition to this the hotel staff do their best to accommodate children and adults alike with bingo and quiz events.

There are two swimming pools one for small children and the main pool which impressed me has a chair lift in a corner to assist those people who have difficulty getting down the ladder. It has a barrier around it each night to prevent children or adults falling in. There is also a tennis court and volley ball court and even a small crèche for children.

Should you venture from the hotel the beach is just a small walk away. Should you wish t go into Puerto Banus you can take a boardwalk from the beach directly into the port. This will take you around forty minutes. If you fancy going to San Pedro be warned it is a wonderful place to visit but if your walking it's mostly uphill.

All in all we had a great time and will certainly return to this respectable well priced all inclusive hotel. Enjoy.

Room Tip: If you like peace and quiet pick your room in the 11, 12 hundreds as this is situated behind the sma...
