Bel Mare is situated on the Paseo Maretimo which runs from San Pedro to Puerta Banus, at the river crossing in the area called Cortijo Blanco. The Paseo and a bridge have just been completed in this area and it has brought a lot more walkers joggers etc. A walk from the new Basilica Park which is the Linda Vista end of The Paseo, to Puerta Banus is about 35-45 mins and this is half way. There are 3 very different Restaurants under a rather unprepossesing apartment block, Largos is an excellent Tapas Bar and around the corner is Rafas with a Spanish menu at excellent prices. Bel Mare is run by an Italian / English couple he cooks she looks after the front of house. Is the menu exciting? well not really apart from two liver dishes it is pretty standard but the food is super, some of the best Pasta I have had and top quality meats and fish, the location is great and the staff good fun. Its clientele is regular expats of all nationalities, Spaniards who like a good Pizza, and tourists who seem to return every month or so. It is good value very child friendly and I would recomend highly, but dont expect to be out in 5 minutes everything is cooked individually and at busy times you can wait a while, but with the view of Africa and Gib and the human cabaret passing by ,a drink and good weather why rush.
