We first visited this hotel in 2006 and loved the location and relaxed atmosphere so much we returned in 2007. We live in North Wales and enjoy the unspoilt beaches of Angelsey. We were, therefore, not disappointed with this location. The beaches are fabulous and stretch for miles. It can be windy but this makes for fun waves and body boarding for older children. This is our bucket and spade holiday with sun. The hotel and town of Conil de la Frontera are mainly frequented by Spanish and some German visitors. Not a British pub or Cafe in site. There are fantastic Spanish beach bars dotted along the beach and it is well worth having lunch in one of these. The hotel is built on top of a cliff and the beach is just a walk down a large flight of steps. The beach can be reached by road but it is the longer way around. The staff at the hotel were accommodating and friendly. We were even upgraded to a front sea view room on our second visit. This was a nice clean room and a real perk as it allowed us to enjoy a drink on the balcony whilst are 3 year old slept peacefully. The food at the hotel was good, not gourmet a la carte but varied and perfectly edible. There was entertainment on some evenings which started a little late for us with a tired 3 year old. There was a small children's club (free of charge) which was run by a lovely Danish girl and gave us some book reading time by the pool!! Conil de la Frontera is a 20 minute walk away. You can reach it by road but more pleasantly along the cliffs or beach. The beaches are busier at the weekends but they are so extensive it doesn't matter. In all a lovely part of Spain and will definately revisit. I would recommend this destination for those seeking a quiet holiday. If you like clubbing, the British pub/bar scene abroad then this is probably not the place for you!!

We loved the location of the hotel. Set on a cliff above a huge beach that stretches for miles with lovely fine sand. The sea can be a bit choppy though but my 4 year old was quite happy jumping over the waves and my 8 year ols loved trying to surf them.. There are a few restaurants nearby set on the beach and a great one in a harbour. The nearest town Conil has a fantastic Italien and bars with the best tapas but we did drive to most restaurants. Prices for meals are good as the area really attracts the Spanish. We were the only Brits in the hotel so really enjoyed being surrounded by Spanish holiday makers as they are lovely. Despite the hotel being full it was really quiet with plenty of space around the pool the only time it felt busy was at breakfast. Top tip ; book a table at the beach restaurant below the hotel for lunch and order anything - it is all delicious and so reasonable!

Stayed at the Garbi Costa Luz ffom the 7th September 07 for a 2 week stay,On arrival we were met by very friendly staff, our room was on the 3rd floor it had a lovley view from the balcony of the beach and Conil town. The room itself was of good size with 2 very comfy and very clean kingsized beds we could not fault the room or bathroom at all the were both spotlessly clean the towels and bedding were lovely and white and smelt very fresh. The pool area was of good size and had more than plenty of sunbeds there is a nice pool bar which serves some very tasty snacks (highly recommend the pizzas),from the pool bar you can get beach towels which you can replace daily these can only be used within the hotel and can not be taken to the beach. The beach is a couple of minutes stroll from the hotel down some steps it is a very long and very clean sandy beach, you can walk into Conil in about 20/25 minutes along the beach it is about the same distance if you walk along the road.We stayed half board and during our lovely 2 week stay we did not have a bad meal, there was a very good choice at breakfast and also at the evening meal. The only down side to this hotel is there are only 2 bars/restaurants and 1 small supermarket within a 5 minute stroll all the others are 20/25 minute walk away. however this will put us off coming to this great hotel again, if you want a beautiful, very clean, friendly hotel in a quite location I would highly recommend the Garbi Costa Luz. We travelled with Thomas Cook.

Beautiful sea views, very cold food at breakfast and evening meal.
Small clean rooms, unhelpful head receptionist.
Close to wonderful beach and beach bars - miles away from any shop of any sort.
Price of beer very good, no ambience in hotel to want to sit around and drink it.
Not enough staff when times got busy.

Just returned from a vacation week in southern spain.
The Garbi Costa Luz is a good place to go when you look for a relaxed beach vacation The hotel is not to large. A good location on the cliffs above the long, sandy beach. Always enough space there.
Beach access by stairs around 200 meters from the hotel entrance. A large pool with also enough space facing the sea.
The hotel was opened earlier this year, the rooms not to large, but ok, the bathroom fitted with a bathtub/shower combination.
Wodden floor, well designed furniture.
Buffett service, breakfast and dinner was ok.
We had a room on the second floor directly above the dining room, no noise problem at all. Front desk staff was friendly, restaurant staff was a bit stressed, the hotel was fully booked the first nights, but also friendly.
