We decided to eat here on our first day and had not had a look around the area. The location is amazing, and as we were eating late afternoon, we got a table with our feet in the sand. The food and service was excellent. The only issue was the cost, it was just over €100 for the two of us. This was for three courses, a beer and a bottle of wine, which might not seem too much generally, but we found that you could get a far better deal nearby.

We first found El Huerto in late May 2008 and thought it just a typical beach restaurant/cafe in Conil ---- that was before we started eating our way through the menu! We've now eaten there some 30 times in 2008 and again in 2009. Their ways of presenting the wonderful almadraba tuna when in season are just sublime --- above all the carpaccio of tuna, the thinnest of raw slices, and the tuna tartare, both with subtle hints of soya and wasabi just to tease you. These are two of the finest dishes I have ever eaten --- anywhere!!! Their seafood is always just as it ought to be. They are also wonderful friendly people and on our last evening put on a wonderful spread for us with hugs, kisses and the best lobster I've seen in years. We have eaten at all the other local restaurants wriiten up here and elsewhere ---- this is the best!!! Average meal cost including wine around 60 euros for two -- but the meal won't be average!!!
